Best drama I've ever watched

Explanation for the Rewatch Value: rewatch value is 1 star because I don't usually rewatch dramas.

For me, this is the best drama I have ever watched. It's a complete package, it has suspense, thriller, comedy, tragedy, etc... No scene was wasted, I think, Everything had a purpose. The setup for the plot points, I think, all paid off in the end. I also want to appreciate the OST, besides the songs, the ambient music we hear during scenes were very good. It sometimes makes you think "Woah, why is the music like this? Is something going to happen or not?". I just want to appreciate the subtlety of it, because it greatly adds to the tension or suspense. The acting, I don't know what else to say, was phenomenal! Everyone did so well. Extra shout out to the antagonists, especially Eunseong. I hated him so much LOL.

*Contains spoilers*
The ending I think was perfect. They were still together, even after death. Atleast, that's what I thought it meant. The scene where the old Hyunwoo was visiting Haein's grave was extra special because of the scene where haein thought she saw an old man bringing flowers to a grave. Well, apparently it was hers. Such a nice callback to that earlier scene.

What a rollercoaster of a drama. It made my cry (many many times lol), laugh and sometimes at the edge of my seat. I'm kinda sad now that it's finished. I guess I'll go check out Soohyun and Jiwon's other dramas for now to comfort myself.

Best Drama of 2024

Life will end one day. But the memories spent together are the real life. To grow old with loved ones is the real achievement. A better ending then this could not have been possible. This drama taught a lot. Small things become big and poison the relationship. Work is not everything in life. Giving time to the relationship and being together can make the bad times into the best times of life. Those who haven't seen it yet must see it. Most recommended drama in my opinion.

Will literally shed your tears but will also make you smile and laugh as hard

This was one of those unexpected series I've watched because I've seen too many clips that it made me REALLY interested. (I usually don't watch ongoing series because I don't like the waiting time in between episodes. I jumped the bandwagon more than halfway through the series and I could say that the torture of 3-4 weeks is totally worth it).

I never thought that I needed SooHyun and JiWon on the same screen but they totally delivered and I can't get enough. I love the simplicity of the storyline -- where it's both predictable and unpredictable. I thought it was just another romcom but I found myself crying as much as I laughed. The chemistry between the Queen's family and HyunWoo's family (including the whole village people) is too cute and heartwarming. They're not perfect but somehow they made it work better than perfection can.

The HyunWoo and HaeIn couple is the type of relationship that I really root for. I didn't experience what they went through but somehow I felt all the pain and all the happiness they have. If they're real people out there, I really wish them happiness until they're old. The challenges they went through only made them stronger.

The OSTs are also gem. Even without watching, if I hear the OST somewhere, I definitely feel warm and fuzzy -- sometimes a bit teary eyed, too. I can never recommend this enough, I really love Queen of Tears. ❤️

GOT RID OF MY KDRAMA SLUMP AND AT THE SAME TIME CAUSED IT

thank you for getting rid of my kdrama slump but also causing it now LOL

anyway, long story short i love it since every ep was like a book you can't put down however i feel like i need more baekhong happy moments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

whoever decided on the cast deserves a bigger salary! thank you casting ksh & kjw, their chemistry is on the roof like WHAT THE HECK just by standing next to each other I WAS DYIIIIING

the acting skills of all the actors was SO GOOD! you can really feel their hardwork and effort to bring the characters into life.

i was actually so annoyed with all the sub plots (!!!!!!!!!!!) and how the villains kept on winning in every episode since the more they win, the more screentime and i just NEED my fluffy happy funny baekhong moments!

i'll definitely miss anticipating every episode and seeing ksh & kjw together! :((((

An amazing drama despite of

My first watch impression of the ending: I am not sure why I felt disappointed, I can pin down why I felt underwhelmed. Maybe because we didn’t get a dramatic kissing scene between leads or the climax and anticipation was awesome leading up to the last episode and it felt like an average happy ending to me.

Despite my first take on the ending I will still rate this drama a 10/10. It was an awesome watch each week, even though the plot has all the normal Kdrama tropes, I thoroughly enjoyed all of it. All the actors were amazing, I felt moved to anger, tears, sadness, silliness, & happiness in each of their scenes. I was part of their journey, and didn’t want to miss a thing. Now I am will solely focus on the Lovely Runner. My eyes will take a break from crying each weekend. Great job to the cast and crew!

bye haein and hyunwoo

After analyzing my existence, I am aware of the inconsistencies that there were within the drama but in retrospect it really didn’t take that much importance when giving this final review bc I genuinely enjoyed watching it and I will really miss it?

Really, the heart of the drama lies with haein and hyunwoo?
Seeing how they grow as people, noticing their mistakes and wanting to change so they don't make it again, is simply beautiful. I lived every moment of their story as if they were people from my social circle jajaja??, I guess that is the acting power of soohyun and jiwon who transmitted to us every emotion and feeling of the characters?✨

(on the other hand, applause for sunghoon??who made me hate him every saturdays and sundays haha)

I thank all the people who were behind the creation of this dram, they made me very happy (i will rewatching it when I need that comfort that Haerin and Hyunwoo can only give me)???✨

Take care of yourselves Haein and Hyunwoo ???

I love you so much and enjoy your time with Soobin (although I feel like I shouldn't say that because it's obvious that you will be happy)??☘️??

Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won -the King and Queen of bringing me to tears

It’s not the story alone but the actors themselves who make way for this drama to be notable and successful. No matter how good or bad a storyline is, the actors can reverse the situation depending on their talent in acting alone. As always, Kim Soo Hyun never disappoints, and he gives everything in his power to deliver us the Baek Hyun Woo that we all love right now. Unquestionably, he is the highest-earning Korean actor in the industry because the man is always here to slay his designated character. The show became even more powerful with Kim Ji Won joining his side to carry out a tear-jerker romance with undying chemistry from start to finish. As an avid K-drama fan, it’s always been my pleasure to be their supporter.

I got this love-and-hate feeling during the first half of the drama. Aside from the main characters, the rest of the cast is annoying without a decent share of the story. The Chaebol family was outsmarted by a small group of villains who share the same brain cell with them -stupid and fool. I am unconvinced how these antagonists managed to take everything from them with the usual plot. The family members of Hyun Woo except for his mother were also a pain in the eyes during the early set of episodes. Everything became more enjoyable after the two families lived under one roof and fixed everything gradually.

The epilogues for every episode were always their best part. It never failed to make me cry and be in awe of the love and care that Hyun Woo and Hae In have for each other. Until the end, tears just keep flowing during the epilogue scenes. The set of OSTs also contributes a lot to the overall impact that the show has. Queen of Tears breaks TV records and has excellent ratings. Yet, I will not give them a perfect score since obviously they have flaws but still managed to make it to the top. In Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, I put my trust in always bringing the best from every project they had.

PERFECTLY A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN INDEED

THIS WAS THE BEST ROMCOM/ MELODRAMA in these recent months or I'd say years..people are always complaining about the writing bro if you watched this show all together everything would've fitted perfectly... instead of finding THE LOGICS sit down and just watch and enjoy... to me all my questions were answered. it was the perfect ending. YOU'RE USED TO NORMAL HAPPY ENDINGS BUT THIS IS THE REAL ENDING EVERY PERSON WHO IS IN LOVE WANTS because this basically showed that THEY GREW OLD TOGETHER instead of claiming to grow old..the whole point of this show was how can a married couple who claimed to be with each but fell apart and how they realised that need each other to grow old and they did..I Loved all the characters and probably gonna miss it for some time but yeah the acting was phenomenol...the chemistry was top-notch, the cinematography was purely beautiful..the emotions was raw....I LOVED EVERYTHING >>>

Queen of Tears (2024): A Tearjerker Fueled by Stellar Performances

"Queen of Tears" is a rollercoaster ride of emotions, but in the best way possible. While the plot might not break new ground in the K-drama world, it's the exceptional acting that elevates this series. Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won deliver powerhouse performances that bring their characters' complexities to life. You'll find yourself laughing at their witty banter one moment, then reaching for the tissues the next as they navigate a tumultuous relationship.

The drama tackles relatable themes of love, loss, and the challenges of marriage, particularly within the wealthy elite. However, it avoids being overly dramatic, opting instead for a nuanced portrayal of human emotions.

Here's what truly shines:

A-List Chemistry: The sizzling on-screen chemistry between the leads is undeniable. You'll be completely invested in their journey, rooting for them to overcome their obstacles.
Beautifully Crafted World: The production value is top-notch, with stunning visuals that transport you into the luxurious world of the characters.
Compelling Side Characters: The supporting cast is equally impressive, offering heartwarming stories and moments of comic relief that perfectly complement the central romance.
Is it for you?

If you're a fan of K-dramas that blend romance with emotional depth, "Queen of Tears" is definitely worth adding to your watchlist. Be prepared to shed a few tears (or maybe a lot!), but also enjoy the witty dialogue and heartwarming moments. However, if you're looking for a fast-paced plot with constant twists and turns, this might be a slower burn.

Overall, "Queen of Tears" is a captivating drama that will stay with you long after the credits roll. Just make sure you have a box of tissues handy!

Best Kdrama in a while

Perfect score for me! I picked this up because I was on a drama drought but boy, I’m struggling to move on and keep going back to watch over and over again. Baek Hyun Woo and Hong Hae In really stole our hearts. All the characters were fun to watch and the second male lead playing the role of the villain really did a good job of making you hate him. The drama has a tone of a good but refined makjang; like an old school kdrama so it might not be for everyone but if you’re into that style of entertainment then you will love QoT. Go watch it if you haven’t done so already!
