I really loved this series. The cast worked very well with each others and it was not awkward acting. The actors who played Bai Lou Yin  and Gu Hai really portrayed the building relationship and how they started to discover each other and theirs feelings very well and I could really see them slowly changing. The side characters were acted very well to and complimented the main roles.
The story follows the same one as some of the first book.
The theme song is very beautiful and I think the person who wrote it must have read the books because the lyrics hint to some parts of the book/story.
I really recomend this and it has to be one of my favourite BLs. Sadly, if you do decide to watch this, you must know that there will not be a 2nd season. It cuts off in around about in the middle of book 1. They may have filmed it but it is not allowed to air because China banned it.
I first watched the web series and now I am on the 2nd book. I still love both and can continue to discover they story even if there is no season 2 and am satisfied with continuing the story with the books

SO AMAZING IT WAS BANNED

Bai Luo Yin's mom marries to Gu Hai's father. Both of them are disconnected from the parent as they feel a sense of betrayal from previous circumstances. Gu Hai antagonizes BLY during class but finds a way to get closer into his heart. Gu Hai refuses to go home as BLY's mom moves into the home, so he moves in with BLY, his father and his grandmother. This is where the amazing chemistry of the whole cast is displayed. BLY's careless, more so naive father immediately accepts Gu Hai as one of his own as he is sweet in his own way. At first the acting of BLY and GH is a bit cringe but still convincing. This awkwardness helps the show be even more realistic as they are still figuring themselves and their family situations out. It really does feel like you're watching a great friendship/romance of 2 boys develop in real time. The side characters are a great addition and makes you want more. Yang Meng and You Qi's interactions were beginning to get more intense, but we can never see it in full as it was banned before the rest of the episodes can come out. The slight comedic value Yang Meng has due to him being so pretty makes the show a bit more lighthearted. The cast and their acting made the story so much better and realistic. The OST is really soothing, like you are looking up at the night sky with a loved one, which BLY and Gu Hai does at least twice on the roof, making it all the more better. The show starts to feel a bit slow and gray from episodes 9-13 but it is still a plot builder nonetheless. All in all, this show will make you laugh, smile and feel like you've seen 2 loved ones and their family grow together for the better, a decent watch.

Summary: two students who did not know that they are actually step brothers. Bai Luo Yin is indifferent with his mother while Gu Hai hates his father. They became friends without knowing that they are actually somehow related-
this is very intense but SO cute. It had some scenes that made me go hmmm and I wish that Bai Luo Yin showed more signs of falling in love... Either way, you know why this BL is called “Addicted” :0
The acting and story line isn’t bad, it’s well done, and it’s the kind of BL you’ll carry with you for the rest of your years- Trust me

I was actually really surprised by this show. I knew about the ban going into this, and considering how strict the laws were, I wasn't really expecting a lot of intimate moments between the two main characters. So it surprised me that there were actually a few kisses and some allusions to them going even further.

I loved the first 10 episodes. The prank war had me giggling so much every episode, and the progression of the relationship seemed so organic and it was so much fun to watch. Things got kinda weird from episode 11 onwards though. There were definitely some non-con moments, but honestly I've learned by now it's kind of a common trope in BL, so I'm not unreasonably bothered by it. (Not sure what that really says about me as a person, but that's neither here nor there). But things seemed pretty choppy as far as the timeline goes. We don't really get to see Bai Luo Yin come around to Gu Hai. One moment he's completely against being anything more than friends (or step brothers) and the next moment he's teasing him, then against it again, then kissing him, and it was kind of confusing to me.

I think this show would have been better suited to 45 minute episode instead of 20 minute ones, but that's just a personal preference I have. I also hate that this ended on a cliffhanger I'll never know the conclusion to. Hopefully I can find a translated version of the book somewhere to get the answers I'm looking for.

I'm sure I'll rewatch this again in the future, but I'm not itching to do so nearly as much as some of the other BLs I've loved.

This drama got me hooked, I mean literary ADDICTED. I watched one of the review videos and she recommended this. I am glad I did. The frustrating thing is the editing, sometimes it felt like they just cut abruptly to the next scenes without any closure or correlation with the last conflicts. Also the soundtrack, they kept playing Brokeback Mountain OST, sometimes it's at the right moment. Sometimes it's just out of place. Though I understand they had budget difficulty.

The story though, very encaptivating. Also the chemistry between the main characters. One thing I hate about this series is how they portray women in general (the exes, the mother) it felt like women are the arch-enemy, the only one who is okay, the vendor lady but she didn't add much to the story.

My heart still aches they got banned and they cannot even on the same screen together anymore.

Heroin was one of the first BLs I watched and I remember that I liked it a lot at the time. What got me interested in this BL was OST which often uses tracks from the soundtrack to the acclaimed film Brokeback Mountain. I like the story very much even though it starts to get toxic the closer to its end. I like the cold and heavy tone we feel while watching and also the performance of the main actors and the parallel of wealth and poverty that is presented to us throughout the series. But even with so many compliments, I have to give a not so high score because of the rape scenes that are extremely unnecessary ...

I loved this so much, but because of the ban by China, we did not get to see much of Yang Meng (Chen Wen) and You Qi's (Lin Feng Song) story, unfortunately. I loved it all in all and loved the part where they were explaining how poor the family was to the teacher!

Addictive

This series was recommended to me and it did not disappoint until the very end and that was probably due to the Chinese banning the show so we can have no sequel.

There was something so raw and honest about these two boys. Great chemistry. Their need for each other as the series progressed was tangible. There were some questionable actions in part but the boys had so many feelings it was almost inevitable that they manifested as they did.

I binge watched over two nights. Highly recommended.

Hmmmm

I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on this series. Some loved it, though I'm not sure why, and some hated it, though I'm not sure why. The acting was great. The storyline started out great, but just got confusing, and the ending wasn't even a real ending. I'm not sure if they were expecting to produce more episodes and just didn't, or if that's the way they truly intended to end the series. Does our psycho male lead go crazy? Yes he does. Does he sexually harass our innocent male lead repeatedly? Yes he does. But does our innocent make lead keep inviting him to stay with him and keep going to stay at our psycho's apartment? Yes he does. And when the relationship finally truly starts, who is it to initiate? That's right, it's always the quiet ones who surprise you. Because of the dive into confusion and the finality of complete wtf, I don't find this one rewatchable. But hey, at least the cast is attractive. Even the completely pointless brother who gets thrown in twords the end even though he adds absolutely no substance to the plot whatsoever.

This drama remains in my heart as one of the best dramas I have ever watched, and my very first Chinese drama.

At first, I was hesitant, because I was used to Korean and Japanese dramas, so the language was a little startling to focus on, and I really didn't like the casting because I thought they looked quite ugly.

But I haven't currently found a drama like this since. There was definite chemistry and their relationship was built from the ground up instead of forcing insta-love. There were the usual cliche scenes but it worked to what it was trying to do with the story, so I didn't mind the cliches because I was too busy making googly eyes at the MC's relationship and their good acting.

The only reason I'm giving it a lower score is because it was unfinished due to China's censorship laws at the time of airing. The final episode ever shown on TV included quite a steamy kiss between the two men and upset a lot of people. The show was then canceled and suspended. It sucks because I know this would have been an amazing show.

The title said it all.

The series is a work of art. The scene photography, the visuals.
The two main role made a history and as the series it's self.

It's so saddened that the series got banned at china but that didn'nt mean to stop you to watch the first season.

You can say all u want but this is the best BL

I don’t watch anything for the second time but I always come back to this.Bai luoying is smart if he feels uncomfortable or harassed by Guhai he could easily call the police but he doesn’t and for a specific reason and that is obviously becuz he wants Guhai near him. In China being gay is illegal dats why he pushes Guhai away and suppresses his feelings until he can’t anymore and u can clearly see he starts caring for him e.g helping GH wash the blood of his uniform. And if u believe that Guhai views Bailuoying as an object u r stupid ngl he’s possessive however he’s always there for BLY no matter what and cares for his emotional well-being.

For those hating on this series I’m guessing u prolly like sweet cute BLs and this is clearly not that it’s real and raw.And for that reason it’s a unique BL and one of the best cuz it will push u out of ur comfort zone.U may not like the story but the acting is not bad at all,the acting doesn’t feel forced at all unlike some Thai bls sorry only some not all.
