Kingdom (2019)

Monsters and Politics. The Monstrosity of Politics and how it infects the common people. Dangerous, intriguing, beautiful, and a little humor.

There are not many similarities, only the vibe, but there is no romance in the Kingdom. Both share stories of fighting the unfair government. In both, there are main leads who are fighting for justice and with monsters.

Both series deftly combine the monster and period genres to create a high-stakes story with a nice balance of suspense, political intrigue, and action.

Based in the Joseon era of Korea, it's historical and full of action and fighting just like this movie.

This might be a bit of an unusual suggestion, but if you loved the mature and self sacrificing Crown Prince Yi Jin and/or Officer Min Woo Won in Rookie Historian, and I think you'll really like the Crown Prince Lee Chang in the Kingdom series.

Both are intense political action thrillers that take place in the context of an internal conflict. Both focus on a core group of characters, some of whom have complicated relationships with one another. There is a bromance that becomes complicated, and the characters struggle to survive. The fight scenes are intense and frequent, and the setting is gritty and depicts the lower classes as well. Both are dark stories in which the characters are constantly being challenged, both physically and morally, and the main character is forced to become a leader of a ragtag bunch of misfits.

While very different plots, both are historical dramas featuring a rare and unusual herb which kills people, and begin with the death of the king which is related to the herb.

Kingdom is slightly different to Peninsula in that it is a historical drama with a zombie apocalypse pretense. For those who love zombie shows and movies, it will be quite different to see the circumstances with a zombie show taking place before modern times. Seeing how the characters deal with a zombie apocalypse before the invention of guns and other modern safeties is a wonder in of itself.

You can't watch one without the other, and you've got to watch the first season to make sense of the sequel.

And obviously, if you enjoyed the first season, you would expect closure in the second season. Again you would expect closure in the third season

Expect more of the same, with blood and guts galore.

Retaining the cast not only maintains the production standards but also preserves the continuity of the plot.

Both feature zombies, obviously, but they also show that, apart from a few heroic figures, bureaucracy and figures of authority are more interested in saving their ass*s and holding onto their power, instead of really tackling the "zombie problem" at hand.

both are historical genres with a dash of supernatural horror thriller, one is about ghosts and the other about zombies but they have the same promise

Zombies Zombies

Same genre, mutants, monsters, zombies..... If dark hole is ur cup of tea then kingdom will too. Although kingdom is waaay better than dark hole in my opinion
