Fan Xian is summoned by the crown prince, prime minister Lin, and the emperor all at the same time. He meets with the emperor first, feigning no knowledge of Lin Gong’s death. At the prime minister’s manor Fan Xian meets the eldest Lin master, Lin Da Bao, who has the mental capacity of a child. He realizes the loss he felt for Teng Zi Jing is felt by those who loved Lin Gong. Prime minister Lin sends someone to torture Si Li Li to determine if Fan Xian was involved in Lin Gong’s death.
