I have no rating because I'm not really a fan of its manga & anime (have not & will not watch) versions. But good for those into the manga & anime versions.

My reviews are based on the live action movie...... and sorry if its kinda on the negative side.
Watched it for about 45 mins. then I stopped. Becaused I can't take it anymore, the image on how the humans are picked up like harvested fruits eaten like bread or something.

talk about no cooking, eating raw like sushi.

Not suitable for the faint of heart.

Kinda disturbing.... gives me the creeps, sort of nightmarish gore.
Lots of blood, spilled gutz all around.

If adult man and woman scream thier jungs out and torn apart limb by limb, imagine children & babies.... the screams & cries are just too much to bear.

And imagine the baby titan eating live humans man woman child baby provided by parent titan, its like a bird feeding her young worms.......

What's even worst, my favorite actresses and actors are eaten alive. I know its the SFX, but seeing them get eaten like chicken is just too much to bear.

Poor Rina Takeda, Ishihara Satomi, Misaki Ayame, Taki Pierre.

For instance, I can take they died from blast of grenades, being buried alive by debris, stepped on or threw like balls/rag dolls by the Titans. But eaten by them while still alive is just too much.

Atrocious. Absolute garbage.

Like, what the actual f*ck? I don't get who the hell decided that it'll be a good idea to make a live action of the masterpeice that Shingeki no Kyojin actually is. It does not make sense. Okay, this movie was trash, but at the same time I don't think anyone could do better than this just because it's hella hard. Well, maybe, if they tried harder and used their brains, they could have at least keep the characters' personalities the same and you know... follow the actual storyline?

It doesn't make sense how much they changed the characters and why they did it. It was cringey. Especially Eren, like c'mon, that's Eren, you just have to make him an idealistic ass who has dreams bigger than his brain and you're done. (I'm actually joking btw, I love him) But what did you do? You gave him zero personality and made him this boring, cringy kiddo. I don't get why people are hating on Miura, like dudes, he was a good actor, but in this case, in this movie, he has zero material to work with. So what do you expect of him? The same goes for the rest of the cast.

And oh my gosh, the titans. You know, before watching the anime, I thought the titans looked funny and I won't be able to be like scared of them? And I never did, actually, but I got used to them. But the titans in this movie, woooooooooooooah, they were ridiculous. Ewww. Couldn't stop laughing. Actually [ SPOILER ] Eren in his titan form didn't look that bad comparing to the other titans, at least.

Overall, this movie is shit and shouldn't be your introduction to Shingeki no Kyojin, it's just so bad. I just wanna cry because it's so freaking bad.

I'm having ambivalent feelings about this movie for two reason: I loved the gore and quite a few details in the movie but I hated the way they changed a lot of things from the original Manga.

As a fan of the manga/anime, I was definitely disappointed on how things turned out for the story line in this live action movie. I would have understood if there were minor changes since there is so much a movie can take from a long manga series, however it wasn't just that - there was a major character deviation as well which was a huge blow for me. I was really looking forward to see the live adaptation of Mikasa, Armis and Eren as how they were supposed to be and was pretty excited on how the actors are going to portray each character accordingly, but unfortunately this isn't the case. The only perfectly retained character was Zoe Hange; her character as the crazy soldier scientist was definitely the same as the original.

The overall CG effect was something not even worth talking about, the only highlight about it was the way they made the live titans. They were freakishly big, dumb and gruesome… which I LIKED! I also gave a small clap on how the titan Eren turned out. It was almost-almost the same as the Anime/Manga version.

Music wise, I’d have to say so-so for the entire duration of the film, up until the ending. Since the song for the credits was a bit more memorable than the rest. It was noisy and rock which was the perfect ending song for a supposedly gruesome movie.

Overall the movie was okay but not okay. If you’re a fan of the manga/anime, you would probably love-hate the movie just like me. There were a lot of key points to like and a lot more to hate. How I wish they just made a drama series out of this, it might have given more justice to the whole live action thing.

Setting all of this thoughts aside, I would still watch the sequel so just to say I have finished the movie and didn’t give up on it.

Well, one thing that this movie surely had was too much blood. I mean, the Titans could not eat the humans as a whole, but had to always cut them in half...Anyway, part from that, the movie was okay. I mean, I have seen worse. But, still, I expected this one too be super good, as everyone is so hyped over this series. So, the performances were good, but I would have liked to have a better explenation over the whole titan thing. Plus, the special effects were really not good. Not horible, but kind of fake. The horror part I guess was supposed to be created by the creapy laughs and the wierd titan mouths, as well as the blood bath. Overall, 4 out of 10, as it was kind of enjoyable, but not as good as it should have been.

Very watch worthy

As a AOT anime fan, going in this I didn’t really know what to expect. A lot of people who have seen this had said it was bad but I wanted to form my own opinion on it, which I’m glad I did. As a original spin off to the AOT anime it was excellent. I loved the action and the setting (being able to compare the parallels to anime but as well as recognize it’s differences). The Titans actually brought me a little fear! And I felt empathy for some of the characters (Great acting!). Overall part 1 of this movie was excellent .

I am very familiar with the manga and anime, and while this may have had its differences. There were still moments this movie was able to shine.
The soundtrack in contrast to the anime was by shiro sagisu and not hiroyuki sawano which made things interesting, i saw many familiar faces and Japanese actors too. While this is not the production that many die hard fans wanted i still loved it , also the titans looked hillarious -i was laughing in scenes i was meant to be serious xd

The cast had fulfilled their roles accordingly and it was of satisfaction to an extent, i cant say i was happy with some of the changes to the plot , but with the way this movie story template was formatted, i feel it turned out very well.

They said it's bad...

Most people said the Attack on Titan Part 1 and 2 are bad, like really bad. See the ratings? it's less at 5.

It took me Haruma's death to watch this franchise because almost everybody said it is bad, but it isn't. I'm sorry I was not able to support Haruma at that time because I listened to all the AOT Fans who were super disappointed.

Actually, I genuinely enjoyed it. It was exciting!
I like the CG. I like the acting, I thought the casts did a good job!

In all honesty, I thought Attack on Titan was good!
This is probably because I don't have any clue about the manga or anime.
I guess, sometimes it's nice to look at things from a perspective of an outsider.

I saw the anime version and I pretty liked it. When the movie came out, I heard some bad reviews and I think I kind of understand why. By the way I liked this movie. The special effects are great and all that. I don't think that the movie is not as good as the anime, it's just a little bit different.

The thing is the movie is a way too short and the actions are too fast. This fact is probably the weak part of the movie. For this reason I recommend to start watching the anime first. You will probably more understand as the anime is more detail.

In my opinion, if you have not seen the anime, then you have to watch it. If you have not seen the movie, then you have to watch it. I enjoyed the both of them and the work is well done.

8.0/10

Summarizing Attack on Titan (Attack on Titan) Part 1:

• Do not expect to see the anime or manga (Oh! New) ...
• Eren now is Buck now is handle ...
• Armin still sarcastically face, but better than the eren ...
• Mikasa gained the attention it deserved ...
• There is cool phrases ...
• The people trained to be running 80% of the film ...
• The Titans are honest workers, so early risers ...
• The most worked scenes from the film are summarized in carnage ...
• I laughed at least 50% of the film ...
• The soundtrack is pretty catty, but the theme song saved the whole thing
