The ML is one of the greenest flags in Kdrama history. (2nd watch)

The ML was such a kind and nice person from the get go. He had a hard time expressing himself sometimes but once he understood things he avoided making those same mistakes again. And we could hardly call them mistakes.

The FL was nice and all but the the ML stole the show. The 2nd couple were more interesting than the FL, but she was a good partner for ML. Seeing them together makes me feel so warm and happy. The 2nd couple had a breakup that wasn't really needed. I'm not even sure if they ended up together as a couple or just friends. The guy clearly likes her but they spent some time apart and he might have gotten over it. They obviously share some affection but its hard to surmise from the scenes after they met again if they were going to try being together again.

A lot of adorableness packed in 30 episodes of no silly misunderstandings.

The first 1 or 2 times I tried to watch the drama, I couldn't get past the first episode. Everyone on social media and in the comments were raving about it but I just didn't seem to like the vibe I got from the 1st episode. However, I wanted to watch them be all lovey dovey and decided to give it another go. Still not a fan of the first episode, but from the 2nd episode onwards it was such a good watch. It was warm for me.

Even though I liked them being together, his intense stares sometimes made me feel like this could have easily been a case of serial killer locking on his prey, but thankfully it wasn't.

The actors did such a good job in creating this beautiful drama that has shows such love for all characters, now matter who they were.

A funnier and more romantic version of the 2016 drama of the same name.

I watched this one first and liked it on the first go. As I was about to rewatch it, I discovered the 2016 drama, which is was watched for the first time, before rewatching this one. Both dramas have their appeal. Where the 2016 drama has more depth and sticks to the crime tone more, this one is more sillier and funny. The ML is both are very attractive, however, even that didn't much endear me to the 2016 drama, as it lacked romance. They dropped the ball on that one.

This 2023 version picked up that ball and gave us better romance, even balancing other genres well. This version clearly has a higher rewatch value for me. (Already seen it twice) Sometimes this silliness is just what we need in life to make us laugh. I liked certain aspects of this story better, especially the part about the FL being the one to loose a friend to murder. It just added more to her character.

More focused on the criminal aspect than romance (Not bad but wish it had more romance)

The leads were amazing. I liked the ML and FL both as individuals. They also have good chemistry, sadly it was underutilized. We get to see how the FL developed her feelings for the ML, but we have no clue about how it happened for the ML. In his case, it simply seemed too abrupt and without any explanation. They got together in the final episode and he directly proposed marriage. Had the romance been better paced or more present, it would have had some rewatch value for me. But right now, I won't be coming back to this.

I did find the actors a refreshening change and will be checking out more of their dramas, hopefully some with better romance.

I watched the drama first, this movie could have been better but it lacked proper execution.

First things first, this is my first time watching Angelababy act and I must say she did a much better job at portraying Bei Wei Wei compared to the actress in the drama. I'm sure Bei Wei Wei's character was written that way in the drama and it made it boring to watch despite the chemistry between the two. Now, in the movie, Bei Wei Wei, was as she should be, full of life and gamer with much more than an ounce of personality.

Both Jing Bo Ran's & Yang Yang's Xiao Nai were pretty similar to met. They were both nice to the FL and it is a quality that appreciate in the MLs of the romance dramas I prefer to watch.

And I was so surprised to see three stars of dramaworld as secondary character with very little contribution to the movie. Li Xian, Tan Song Yun, and Janice Wu. There story arcs were such that they almost disappeared in the background. Only their memorable faces made me remember them.

Now, coming to the story, the drama did a much better job. While we understand the time limit and how compression works, the movie was not executed well. It lacked flow, the scenes changed abruptly. The romance developed suddenly. I have seen many dramas where 1 single episode showcased so many different scenes but the transition between them was perfect.

But was it worth the time spent watching it? Yes, not bad for a one time watch.

So Damn Sweet!

Both the leads did a good job in portraying their characters. The story was pretty much him making a fake confession with the goal to dump her so that she would fail. It was so funny when she accepted his proposal. Thankfully, she wasn't into him but was onto his scheme. Was a pretty decent 1 hour watch.

It is okay. Worth the time spent but at the same time nothing to write home about.

I liked the characters, especially Lee Soon Ae and Baek Hee Seop from 1987. They were the ones that kept things interesting. I found the Yoon Hae Joon to be lacking the usual charisma that Kim Dong Wook brings to his characters. All I could say is that he was warm in here. Jin Ki Joo's Baek Yoon Young was just the same. There was a lack of intimacy between the two for us to categorize this as romance. They were nice to each other and I'm glad that they ended up together but it wasn't all that fun to watch.

Do not expect it to make any sense. (I still watched the whole drama like a sucker)

Nothing makes sense.

The FL honestly has better chemistry with the SML.
The FL acts like a doormat with her so called friends.
The FL's girl friend is horrible and she is forgiven for everything she does wrong.
The ML is sweet sometimes, clueless and childish most of the time.
The ML's manager looked so classy but her behavior beyond tasteless.

Despite all these things going wrong, for some reason I just continued to watch it.
(It could be because I like both the actors portraying ML & FL)

Great start. Honestly has a really confusing story.

It was good to watch Na In Woo as a ML in another drama after Marry My Husband. The leads had good chemistry and they made it interesting watch during the first 5-6 episodes. It was a bit depressing once he found out about her situation and identity.

While I understand the pain he was suffering he told her to go back to a place where she was held captive so that she could be used by other people. That really soured the romance part of it for me. I actually agreed with him when he said that "How can I like you when you keep lying to me." Although the words were hurtful to Seul Bi, she could have told him the truth sooner when he asked her. But once he told her to go back and didn't really check up on her, I was kinda over the romance thing. Especially when he suspected that the people who he was sending her back to had killed his mother and tried to kill him.

From then onwards, I just watched to see how it unfolded. He said a lot more harsh things to her when they ran into each other (it was for her own good). Once he made up her mind to forgive her for the death of his mother who was murdered because FL ran to ML, he came around and decided to protect her by being with her. He was so sure that the FL loved him that he took her for granted. Even with her powers, the FL was never that sure about his feelings for her.

Lets not even talk about the dynamics between the FLs parents, her biological father kept her mother locked up for so long so that he could use her power for his own greed. In the end she ended up living with up. That relationship was so damn toxic and so difficult to understand. He shouldn't have been forgiven.

Light Hearted Drama With Just A Pinch Of Heartache.

A pretty decent drama with one little hiccup, a breakup that lasted far too long and shouldn't have happened. In the beginning, I wondered why the FL should be the ML because he was a bit annoying and kinda mean to her. In this aspect, I liked "When I Fly Towards You" better. Honestly, that one is better.

I do have to wonder why the stylist did the FL wrong with horrible hairstyle when they were in school. It just didn't fit her right. But then I remember my own hair in school, so it was quite realistic.

I like how nice the supporting characters were, even though Anze liked her, he wasn't a jealous SML who interfered or tried to push his attentions on her. Instead, he was quite mature about their whole situation. Same could be said for Tao Ya Ting, in face of unrequited love, she conducted herself with such grace. They were all a bunch of likable characters.

A family of choice, abandoned by their mothers, raised by devoted fathers.

Relationship between the three friends who grew up together:
===============================================
From the get go, it was easy to see that Jian Jian clearly favored Ling Xiao over He Zi Qiu. She made Zi Qiu's life quite difficult and it made me a bit worried about what kind of man Zi Qiu would grow up to be, to always have to beg for affection. But thankfully, he turned out all right. Overtime, she outgrew the little jealously she felt about him becoming her brother and Zi Qiu's mother becoming her step-mother. But we could see that she took him for granted because he agreed to everything she wanted. And maybe that allowed him to have fun along with her, be a little naughty and forget that his mother left him to a stranger who could have treated him badly. Next, we have Ling Xiao, who was treated cruelly by his own mother, then later abandoned without much care. He had to grow up too early, compared to Jian Jian and Zi Qiu who were always lost in their own mischief. He was the mother of their friend group, who had look after both of them once he decided that they were his family. It was painful to see how life split the three apart, and for a moment I wondered if they would ever be the same.

The Best Fathers :
=============
Li Hai Chao: The best parent I have ever seen in any stories. Just how generous can a person be? There is nothing you can hate about him. He is made of all the good stuff in the world. Seeing that he lost his wife to childbirth, he could have become just as vile as Chen Ting and mistreated his child. But he was never that kind of person, he raised a daughter who was maybe a bit mischievous but all in all had a happy soul. He took in Zi Qiu and always treated ling Xiao well. He was both a mother and father to all three children who grew up to become the decent human beings they were. It was easy to see his genuine care for the children. He just eluded warmth. I was glad we had a character like that to balanced out the selfish mothers.
Ling He Ping: I wasn't a fan of him since he was more of an absentee father. Normally, it would have been understandable as he was the primary breadwinner of the family. But his absence resulted in the psychological trauma faced by his only living son who was neglected and mistreated by his mother. For far too long, He Ping humored Chen Ting at the cost of his child's mental health. I'm usually someone who is against violence and don't even tolerate excuses for slaps. But I didn't feel sorry when Chen Ting was slapped. What a poor excuse for a mother. Once she was out of the picture, Ling He Ping was finally focused on his child and became a decent father who started looking after his son.

Mothers who abandoned their sons:
===========================
Chen Ting: What a horrible character. I wonder where the ideas for this character came from. I do hope people who have mothers like these have grown up at least as well adjusted as Ling Xiao or are holding on and trying their best to live their life. She first mistreats her son, then abandons him without looking back, she then goes on to marry someone else and have another child (wth was going on in her mind to have another one. She is not a mother material), has an injury so now all the adults in her life don't want to take care of her so Xiao has to, when he has no obligations to do so. But he is guilt tripped into doing so. Even after he has fulfilled his duty as her "son", she then forces him to stay with them for more years. When is able to get rid of her tentacles and come back to a place where he was happy, she finds it in herself to come play with his head. She is mad at the woman he loves, hates her because that woman cared more for Xiao than her selfish ass ever did, then she tries to set her son up on a date with another woman, as if that's not enough she tries to kill herself leaving behind a letter for Xiao to find. She never had any mercy on her son. (One of the ickiest characters I have come across)

The ML is an adorable Teddy Bear.

When you put yourself in the ML shoes, all you can think of is that the guy is a saint and so damn mature. Even after all the things FL put him through, he still loved her and went out of his way to understand where she was coming from.

We get that FL was coming off a lot of hurt and the reasons she chose to escape her life, but at some point she should have told him the truth. She made selfish decision to protect herself from the hurt and allowed the poor guy to go crazy. He was so damn worried about her. While ML is 10/10, I do wish the FL would have put him first and at least told him the truth about her life. So what if they had went there separate ways, at least he wouldn't torture himself like that. Knowing the ML, they might have reconciled sooner.

Now, as a viewer, I completely enjoyed the style of the drama. I also had fun watching how frustrated the guy was and all the things he shared so freely. I honestly wish more people were this brave. I also liked how the FL gradually shared how she felt but she clearly was the more loved by the ML.

The supporting characters were also pretty good and fun to watch.

Everything is great! Writing this review after my 2nd rewatch.

The chemistry between the leads is wow. I remember watching this previously and liking it a lot, little to no silly misunderstanding, bickering leads, no interferences from annoying SML or SFL, and a plot with some substance. These are all the things that I look for in my dramas. The leads don't break up once they get together, nor are there any unnecessary time skips. The supporting characters are also lovely and entertaining.

Dramas like this one and Go Go Squid give us a a look into the gaming circle. I'm still not sure how realistically the portrayal of gaming circle is in these dramas, from the irrational fans to fame. Are gamers really that popular? I mean I'm sure they are popular on the net, but what about in real life. Are they celebrities that have people hounding them like this?

I had fun watching all the elements of the drama, especially the slow burn part, there is a lot of interaction between the leads and they are the focus on the show. There was just one instant when i questioned the relationship between the leads, but then it wasn't that big of a deal, at least not compared to the way they cherished each other. So, definitely one of the rare cdramas worth rewatch.

Yet another drama where Tan Song Yun shines like the bright light she is!

Before going into this drama, I read a few reviews and saw many praising Jing Bo Ran for his looks and performance, for me thought Tan Song Yun was the star of this show. I did like Jing Bo Ran but his character Lu Yan Chen/ Lu Chen was a bit hard to pin down for me, I liked Lu Chen sometimes, but others he just didn't seem like a person who pursued things other than his work. Gui Xiao, on the other hand, was a treat to watch.

I especially loved the flashbacks, which gave us complete look into how each of them felt for each other. Lu Chen was far too reserved so the flashbacks helped reveal a bit more about his feelings for Gui Xiao. Their breakup had me reminiscing about the decisions made when I was that young, how easy it is to be swept away with emotions. It also showed us how two different people dealt with their problems in different ways.

But you still have to give it to Lu Chen, even though Gui Xiao broke up with him, he didn't hold on to the resentment for long. He was more understanding than most MLs.

The romance part was good, the leads have good chemistry. However, there made up very suddenly. It was a bit underwhelming but I was happy for them both.

Wǒ xǐhuān! Lovely Couple! Crazy Antics! Such a silly yet adorable drama.

While the business part of the drama was super messy, the romance was on point!

Both the ML & FL were super adorable. I especially loved the moments when they were in Lady Meow & Coffee mode. I wish we got see more of Lady Meow's antic, Coffee's were funnier for me. I did enjoy him chasing the laser. I was just surprised with the way they ran their companies though. It seemed like they were playing game and the business part was far less believable. They had 2-3 minor misunderstandings that were solved in like seconds, so you won't be cursing at them for long. Plus points, all the characters are so damn beautiful.

The SML was a mama's boy and didn't stand up for the FL. It didn't really seem liked he even liked the FL for who she was originally. I actually thought the guy was pretty decent before his mother stepped into the picture. The entire thing about humiliating the FL was so childish on his mother's part, they pretended to be above her but showed less class. (Icky, that's how it makes me feel!)

The SFL was complex and after money. She called herself a gold-digger and that's what she was, all people who decide to pursue money at cost of everything else have their reasons, that doesn't mean you should trample on people as you do it. She was so heartless to the ML, that it makes us glad that he got the chance to be with someone like FL, who is very decent. (Not very smart when it comes to running a company, but a skilled designer)

It was interesting to see the open ending for the SML & SFL, they clearly have potential. And the SFL is someone who can deal with the SML's childish mother.
