~ Sometimes you find a gem like this ~

With difficulties finding a good drama these days, it was a surprise with this production. The story was well written and had depth. What I loved most about the drama was its well rounded characters. I can't applaud more for how they showed the day to day life of the leads without making it boring and draggy.

The two leads character was well written and executed. The chemistry between them made sense and I could really feel their emotions. Ji Hyun was a simple down to earth boy who knew when to stand up for himself and was adventurous. I liked the people around him and their conversations. The scenes with his bff, Ae ri, restaurant ahjumma and even small moments like him sending pics to his mom about his day to day life felt wholesome.
Jae Won was the life of the party and people loved around being him. He was attractive to the core. And just like not everything that shines is gold, he did carry a lot of emotional baggage from the past. There were so much to peel from his character. Especially the talk around maintaining one's image was fascinating. How often the pressure of having to maintain an image can get to you. I understood him with my whole heart. His equation with Yoon Won was so adorable and I am so happy they explored their friendship with them drinking & chatting stuff.

Mental health issues were dealt in a decent way though I was not really fond of the scenes with the doctor. I haven't experience counselling irl but it felt depressing to hear the doctor talk. SPOILER ALERT*** For example talking about how sad it is when her patients chose to end their life was not something to be discussed to a patient who almost lost his lover's life *** SPOILER ENDS

The chemistry was uff AMAZING. I feel so giddy watching the romance and I don't feel like this in other dramas.

With all praises there were few nitpicks from my end, one being the camera angle. In most of the heavy scenes, the camera was literally closed up on the face of the actors, blocking out other people talking or any background due to which it felt claustrophobic. Editing could have been better but it wasn't bad to spoil the drama for me. It was a pleasurable watch and totally recommended !

P.S. Im Ji Sub playing Jae Won reminded me of Lee Joon Ki and Lee Do Hyun so much. In so many scenes i felt i was watching them.!!

there is so much attraction in subtlety

I just want to express how happy I was after finishing this series. For such a short drama it has such a beautiful storyline which can make mainland dramas fail. I was fully invested in the characters, main and side both. My favorite side character being the sister. I like how they gave depth even to the side characters. The story was a straight healing story where two people meet and figure out their emotions together. Both the leads had emotional depth to them. One could argue Da Un seemed more anchored and closed compared to Siwon in the earlier episodes but we get to learn about him slowly and steadily later on. I just loved how confident Siwon was in misunderstanding Da Un, which he took sportingly and used to flirt back haha. The kisses was satisfying for this lady writer and romance was ahh so heart wearming.

Heard a Season 2 in progress, hope they don't mess that up. I just love the characters so much that I cant bear it to be spoiled.
I'll keep the review short. If you still haven't, go and watch this beautiful BL drama now!

Modern attempt to style story telling and laughter ensues

This drama came to me when I wanted something light to watch and that's what i enjoyed the most about it. The story is pretty basic and have been done in dramalands before. What makes it different is the structure of the drama itself, similar to American sitcoms (example- brooklyn nine nine, the office etc ) . Instead of having the story play in a linear motion, it was more like played by scene to scene. Actors came did they what had to do then cut to next scene with new set of events happening parallelly. However the tone of the dramas never stray away from its korean roots with over the top slapstick humour, office romances, subtle commentary on the richer and 9 to 5 job workers sections of the society. The combination of these factors came out real fine. It looked like the production unit has attempted a creative new approach in its story telling and I am all up for that.
The drama was rich in characters and the acting was amazing. I personally enjoyed Ma Tan's character a lot, a rich sleazy goofball experiencing the outside world and oh boy his devil's horn hair strand.. HILARIOUS. I laughed a lot at the Kim Jong Kook's jokes references and drama parodies. Kwak Dong Yeon and Go Sung Hee were phenomenal in their acting and you can see they gave their all. Special shoutout to Aziz for breaking stereotypes everytime he mentions 'its a stereotype' hahaha.
All in all, this may not be the most unique or funniest or wittiest show you have ever seen but a refreshing attempt in k drama factory. It could turn out to be a great stress buster for periods where you don't want to watch anything heavy. So enjoy laughing :)

Plenty of "curiosity" happening this season

I found S2 giving more depth to the participants than S1. For a dating show, it had more meaningful conversations and audience had the chance to know them better. I liked how they explore the conversations as an individual beyond romantic relationships. Soe expressing how unrequited love felt and choosing to go beyond temptation to chose Yoongjae was a journey in itself. Hanbin stating how he advises everyone on their relationship yet when it comes to his own dating doesn't know what to do was relatable af. The comments section in MDL and YT blooming with so many reactions was so much fun. Eventually the last destination for all the ship would conclude to this is just a show and most of it is scripted anyway :D Every analysis, theories from the viewers, despite knowing its a moo point, were told so excitedly.

The ending couples made sense actually. You can see how they fit together. Just off the radar, I loved Da hee's reaction to the participants and she looked beautiful in every outfit. Sejun stole the show for me with his witty replies. While everyone is fighting blood and sweat for girls, the man sunbathing was legit gold. Towards the end I was only interested in his arc and scenes. All them were nice people with qualifications which make them a par above the others and I enjoyed the dynamic between them as friends.

Btw Hanbin looks like Nam Joo Hyuk, doesn't he? Nobody pointed it on the show. He is totally green flag, sadly his plane didn't take off -_-

A well crafted love story always have my heart <3

This is the kind of drama which I want to forget soon so that I can re watch it with the same enjoyment I did the first time.
The story feels similar to Pride and Prejudice. Our FL Qian Wei having prejudices against Lu Xun for always been on top even though technically he did nothing wrong. On the other side we have ML Lu Xun who is totally in love with Qian Wei yet his pride never let it show to her directly. I woo at such kind of romances (this noona's heart likes what it likes, no regrets) and thus if you do too then its a totally recommend watch for you.

I love how QW was sassy, smart, cool and witty. I remember a scene in Ep 4 where after she time travelled, where her ex (whom she had met recently on this timeline) apologized to her for lying and she coolly goes "Its okay. I know you are expert at lying" had me rofl. The blatant sarcasm she used against the 2 guys for making her life worse were hilarious.

Lu Xun being the alpha male was good at everything he did and his longing for QW had me ache for them to be together. Like every romance drama have a mandatory drop where the leads breakup for all sorts of nonsense reasons only to get together, this one was different. Because it had LOGIC. I totally got LX point on why he never wanted to be a mere rebound or for her to love him because he did some nice things for her. He wanted her to see him and love him for for the way he is. Hats off to the story for being able to communicate this in a coherent matter to the audiences. I often find this sort of articulation lacking in other dramas.

The swap from the past timeline to current one made sense. I won't spoil it for new watchers, they never took the "physics" approach getting into alternate realities, parallel worlds, 5th dimension etc etc. The reason was simple and satisfactory for me.

Despite me loving the drama so much, it wasn't flawless. The best friend scenes felt average to me compared to the overall show. The ex scenes with the CEO was totally worthless and I skipped it guilt free. The ending few 3-4 episodes were mere filler and totally makjang -ish. You can quit the show when the leads get together around 27-28 episode (i don't remember the exact episode).

Hope you can enjoy it the way I did..!
