I watch this after i watched Pity Girl. And i already finish all of the part. And this part is the best out of 4. I already watched Push and Mook's other series, and their acting were good everytime i watched them. So, i tried to watch this series, and it's undeniably sweet and there's some moral values in it. So, it's worth to watch or rewatch. I like to see another side of Push, i usually saw him as a kinda strong character, and so slutty (i hate him as Sibtis in U-Prince, hff), but his slutty-ness in here is awedorable, like a puppy. Even tho somehow i saw it very annoying.

I really enjoyed this serie, the characters are amazing, the story is cute, they have some important lessons and the acting is good.

Push acting was really like the perfect boy that you don't expect to be a protagonist cause he is so funny and happy he really gives the vide of a well humored guy that is my absolutely favorite quality on people.I really enjoyed seeing a protagonist that was really funny and liked to play pranks he really looked like a super cool senior I wish I would see more series with funny pro(if u have watch some please reccomend)

The chemistry between the 2 is good and it was so soft to watch they are like the whole world stop when they are together it makes me so soft.

Gun always do the bets job ever like a friend his acts never disappoints and proud also make a good job on my point of view

The perfect series if u want to watch something short and sweet .I didn't start watching it with much hope but I become addicted in the first ep and really love it.

Ok so I loved the show. I had just finished the last episode last night. This show gave me so much cuteness that I thought I would explode. The leading man, Suea, was handsome, funny, a tad bit too touchy lol, had great work ethic, etc. The leading woman, Junior, was just so sweet and I just genuinely loved her character and loved her best friend, Bee.
There only one thing that bothered me. Spoiler alert.
It was Suea during the end. He was being such a jerk verbally harassing her. Like wtf. Also when he kept getting mad over her wanting to visit her dermatologist. Like dude, just because I wanna get rid of my acne, it doesn’t automatically mean that I want to be flirted by everyone. I saw it as Junior wanting to gain her confidence again. I mean she was already growing with herself with the acne but she has the right to decide what to so with her face. I really didnt like that about Suea. And that was all before they even started dating. It was so unnecessary. Maybe it’s a cultural difference. Idk. But no matter how cute and kind he was, if I was her, I woulda dumped his controlling butt.
Nonetheless, the show still somehow made the ending look very cute that I wasn’t that mad lol.

If u are a teen drama fan , then this drama is definitely for you. As I can say most of the people like this type of school drama. This is my first drama with dj Push. And I m happy I found him through this drama bcoz he looks extremely handsome and cool. And nook is super cute as junita and she is the best for this role. And all other characters definitely catches our attention and stays in our mind for a long time.

Story is simple when a ugly girl starts liking a super handsome guy, she gets afraid of being ditched at anytime. So she keeps her love to herself and never conveys it to him. And the guy who is super handsome but extremely poor in status always try to win her heart but sometimes he gets possessive bcoz of seeing her with other guys. Her friends supports her to love P'Suea ( handsome male lead) but she stays away from him bcoz of her inferior complex of being ugly. After a lot of twists and turns they fall into love with each other and conveys it.

Good entertaining show with romance comedy and teen materials. I love push bcoz of this show. And bee is a cute supporting character in this drama. I can definitely rewatch this show if I m free from other dramas. Music is good and acting is best. Story is ok

Spoiler alert.
How the ugly duckling becomes the swan, here in this drama also she gets lucky by choosing the poor handsome guy, instead of rejecting him for his status. Look into the last episode to find what I m saying.

Tons of fun when you need a brain break! From drama burnt out or life burn out!

"I need something cute and brainless" were the words that inspired me picking up Ugly Duckling Series: Perfect Match. At first I thought it was too brainless. Instead I discovered that this particular genre of drama is something I can enjoy. When it's done in small doses and paced right. AKA I could have enjoyed Full House, Boys Over Flowers and so on, if they hadn't dragged it on forever. No really. 9 episodes is more than enough to not only establish the story and plot, but to build great character development. Maybe that's why I've started to enjoy J-dramas so much more. Though to give credit where it's deserved Ugly Duckling Series: Perfect Match actually tried to give more to the basic drama tropes it starts out with.

Rant: This drama is going for the light and bubbly. The cute concept behind the original ugly duckling story. Yes, this drama is cute and bubbly indeed! Though I need to address its dark side: the woman shaming. The concept is that the lead girl becomes ugly, so now she's free to find love without the restrictions of being beautiful and rich. Though it's clear this drama woman shames. The mamma duck in the story is called "a fat mamma duck", because why not shame the cute female animals while shaming the human women? The lead basically gets a bad case of cystic acne as an allergic reaction to a treatment she should have never needed to get. Instead of people just chilling until it's gone everyone is freaked out. Not to mention they know it's not contagious, but even her own mother (basically everyone in her life) treats her like a plague victim. The only person who knows she's gorgeous under the acne turns out to be a perv/creep. So that's not cool. The thing is I don't believe the drama is addressing this as a problem of society. They don't even know they're doing it. So my dramatic rant is over. I feel entitled to rant about all this not to mention as a cystic acne sufferer I can't believe how crappy people would push you over the edge about it. Severe acne is common in the States so I guess that's why most people are pretty "whatever" about it.

Despite my huge rant this drama is one you don't take seriously. That's the fun of it! It's blast and I was smiling and laughing during most of it.

There's plenty of laughs like the leading lady, Joo, bending the story of the Ugly Duckling to her needs. It's not inner or outer beauty and "accepting one's self" kind of tale. It's a lesson in making sure you don't sit on the wrong eggs! Ha-ha!!! Joo does finally learn what makes people decent and the real world of being a "ugly girl with no money".

Suea is a legit poor person. The penny counting and down to his falling apart sandals. A lot of dramas say the characters are poor, but they dress and spend money like cray-cray people. I enjoy that Ugly Duckling addresses this realistically. Not to mention that Suea is "handsome and brutal". He defends Joo and even makes people apologize to her. Just as a decent person. You calls EVERYONE out on their stupidity.

What really makes Ugly even better is that Joo and Suea are true friends. They both get to know each other and call each other out on their bull. It's fabulous to have REAL friendship before things start to turn romantic.

Even better and what makes Ugly Duckling Series: Perfect Match more. Is that Joo and Suea have real flaws. Suea is a bit of a flirt and slut, which everyone talks about. It's even a factor in Joo not immediately taking Suea's perusal of her for real. That and the annoying bit that she's also still hung up on her being "ugly". Suea has to deal with some of his own ugly personal truths, his pride, and eventually jealousy of Joo becoming beautiful and other men pursuing her. I did overall love this drama and it's pacing. It was just hard to watch as Joo's old self and new self merging. Despite her big words Suea's lack of money and family is a big deal. (Not just because her family won't accept him.) She even dates her old boyfriend at the end. All while Suea gets even more intense about what she does when she becomes beautiful again, even complaining about her dress. It all feels like a take back, but it's also very real. Except for that ending twist stuff which would be the hugest take back ever! (Though it also felt like a wishful fantasy sequence.)

Ugly Duckling Series: Perfect Match deals with social class. Addressing Joo's healing on the inside as she experiences life of the middle class. Joo finds out who her real friends are and what that type of bond means. I also like that Suea realizes his feelings first and is bold in letting her know. (Though he got pervy a few times. It felt real.)

There is an openly gay best friend here, Bee. I love the relationship Joo and Bee have. Joo does so much for him and I love their love for each other. True Bee is at times mostly the comedic relief, it was still great.

I have to be honest the music is nothing mind blowing, nor is it bad. However: ***WARNING*** If you're annoyed by bad sound quality this is the worst I've ever listened to for a drama. I know Bromance had some issues, but this drama makes the sound issues on Bromance seem like A+ work. Because it's bad. Background noise isn't even the worst of it. The actors dialogue gets loud and then drops. At one point what the female lead said was lost, thank you subtitles for the save. It happens none stop through out the drama.

Despite some of it's flaws I would/will definitely be rewatching Ugly Duckling Series: Perfect Match. Ugly tries to be more and despite the "take back" of the rich girl and poor boy story it feels right. I love the feel of this drama and it is a great breath of fresh are for someone who is fried. On life or dramas. It's fun! Sometimes that's all you need. This is actually the third entry in the series, but I had no issue jumping right in. The connection isn't strong. Mainly just the concept. Though I did go and promptly watch the 2nd entry to this series which I loved! Even more than this one!

I also have reviewed every episode so if you want to follow along it's there.

To be honest, I only watched this drama because of Push, but this was far more than what I had expected from him. I loved the story it was very real and something that happens in real life. Furthermore, I can relate when people tell others that they don't look pretty when they do and try to push them to the very end. However, while I was watching it, it did annoy me that she listened to her so-called friends to get the plastic surgery. Only for them to distance themselves from her when all didn't turn out well for her as she got allergic from the chemicals receiving acne. Then, I hated her boyfriend as he dumped her because she wasn't pretty anymore and not loving her because of her personality. The acting was on part expectally her gay friend Bee, he was so funny and the energy in the room when things didn't go so well. I would re-watch this drama again when I get tired of Kdrama's.

This is my top favourite of the ugly duckling series.

I could totally relate to Junior's problem, wish there was an IRL "ugly duckling" forum LOL.
My favourite pair is Junior and Bie. Love the pair together, their interactions as best friends is seriously cute.
I really enjoyed all the characters here. And I really love Push here (who doesn't honestly).

Definitely worth a watch and re-watch and definitely recommend! Especially to those new to thai lakorns, really refreshing and fun to watch.

What is the message?

I came across a fan-made music video of the leads to Ellie Goulding's Still Falling For You and it convinced me to watch this drama for the longest time. I am sad to say that the FMV was far better than the actual drama.

The first thing I noticed was was the overall tone and style of acting. It was almost parody-like, and it felt like the acting was always dialed to 30% no matter how emotionally heavy the scene was supposed to be. I also had this issue with 2gether so I'm not sure if it's just a sign of the times, but the unconvincing acting made it so that none of the plot really felt emotional or high-stakes.

My biggest issue is probably with the social messaging, which turned out to be very self-contradictory.

So you have a main character who's only temporarily ugly because a procedure went wrong; this is actually a pretty good (and common) set-up for a previously shallow girl to realize there's more to life, but as the drama progressed the theme started getting muddled. There's a female character who's on the heavier side and the drama was filled with comments about her weight, but it was all played for laughs. Additionally, people would tell our FL that she just had to wait a year and then she would be pretty again, and as the drama went on, this did prove to be true and very quickly the drama changed from "women shouldn't let shallow judgements bring them down" to "women should appreciate men who like them when they're ugly, even when they become pretty again."

I felt a similar issue with the way the male lead's plot went — after so much character exploration around why he had to work so much and be so frugal and how it impacted his previous relationship, it would've been extremely interesting to see how his relationship with the FL would be different, considering that once again there would be a wealth gap. Instead, the drama went the easy route and made it so that he was secretly rich and there would be no family disapproval or long-term insecurity.

As a result, it felt like the drama focused instead on how they it was important for everyone to be ugly/poor (or pretend to be) at some point in their lives to test who really cared about them. The drama didn't explore the lives of anyone who actually was unattractive or unwealthy, and would never be able to change it.

I also just have a huge issue with how they destroyed the ML's character in the last few episodes. I liked his playfulness at the start; it was fun, albeit a little over-the-top sometimes, but playful MLs are my favorite archetype and I liked the he was genuinely nice. Once the female lead rejected him, however, he turned into a very typical Nice Guy™, slut-shaming her by saying her clothes were too revealing and she just wanted men's attention like all other shallow women, calling her a gold-digger who didn't like him because he was poor, and being stupid for not appreciating him for liking her when she was at her lowest. It made me not root for him at all and it really is the reason for my dropping my rating so much.

Despite all that, I still really think there is potential here and I wish the writing had taken itself more seriously to really reach that.

I'd been binging on crazily plotted Lakorns that this one caught me by surprise at how normal the story is. I thought Thai rom-coms are way too silly for me to enjoy that I'd only been trying Lakorns with heavy themes lately. But I am a new fan of Push after watching Roy Leh Sanae Rai so I decided to give this one a go. And what do you know, it was the best decision ever! This is such a fun watch; a well done friends to lovers story. The leads are so adorable. The whole drama is dripping with cuteness in a really good way. And when things get serious, they pack an emotional punch as well.

I'll admit, at first, it was somewhat difficult to watch the female lead on screen because her skin problem looks too realistic. But I have to give props to the drama and to the actress for willing to depict it in such a way. It's something many suffer from at some point in their lives. I went through that phase myself, so I resonated with the heroine's insecurities. And the drama succeeds in showing that it's your heart that makes you beautiful because I found the heroine really adorable. She may be "ugly" on the outside but she comes across genuinely as kind and caring that I felt she is lovable, just like the way the other characters in the drama sees her. Push's character is a flirt but an all around good guy, the kind of senior you'd definitely fall for at school. Their love story is simple and there are many squee-worthy moments between the leads. I will note that the main conflict in the story isn't as concrete as I would have liked but the well written dialogue makes up for it. Also, the supporting cast is delightful! I liked the lively campus atmosphere they created; I really wanted to hangout with them.

All in all, a breezy, mood-lifting watch!

It's a little shallow; which is why the rating is what it is; like her face wasn't even a big deal; people are just jerks. This show was actually probably my favorite out of the whole series; it was entertaining and pretty cute. I liked the main guy, he's always a good guy in most of shows, I liked the twist at the end and I liked the girl; the story was cute and the people were funny and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I think watching this was completely worth it and it was a nice filler to put through when you need something to watch.

A clap for makeup artist

•Story-an unexpectedly good drama. I just wanted to know the aspect where a plastic surgery takes a wrong turn. The fl had breakup eventually finding a man who loves her for good deeds not just face.I had to say that BL characters were unnecessary and they simply made the lakron long. I skipped through those characters. I didn’t like the ending though it was unrealistic
•Acting- push as suea was amazingly good as flirting, hard working, handsome and not giving up on the one he loves. Mook as junita nice. Her makeup was done magnificently. I expected a more of her obsession towards a beautiful face but her role is more of naive and good girl.
The chemistry between suea and junita was amazing
Music- ‘mah tun way la paw dee’ by Mook is good ost.give it a try
•Rewatch- its a cute and lovable lakron so yes I am definitely watching it again.

•Conclusion- no slap kiss and forced kiss. Mooks acne face were done so perfectly,I give claps for the makeup artist.
