She is so amazing

One of the first Chinese dramas I have ever watched. I remember watching this with my family and being absolutely in love with them and till this day I cannot forget about it. The mother was a piece of work, she didn’t pay attention to her daughter, and caused the whole mess. I feel so bad for the main girl, having both her adoptive mother hate her, her real mother ignore her and even when she had her daughter the main guy and people around her hated her yet she still looked pass everything and tried to forgive them as best she could. The sister was selfish, one of the nastiest characters in history. The ending was absolutely perfect. Who doesn't love happy endings here the bad get what they deserves and the good can finally rest in peace.

Welcome. It's a long ride ahead so buckle yourself in.

(I finished this drama within the span of two days so let's get it out there shall we?)

To begin, I did watch the original, Jang Bo Ri, which is the Korean parent story of this drama a loooong time ago. I do think that most of the story was the same / similar but Because of You did have many differences in a way.

I do love me some Sun Yi and Deng Lun (who were both in Fifteen Years to Wait for Migratory Birds, check it out) so the chemistry between their characters was cute and funny. As Guo Guo aka Yi Bei grows up in the harsh hierarchy where her mother favors her evil sister, she's begins to find her passion in embroidery. Her evil sister, Yu Xin was just as compelling as the evil sister from Jang Bo Ri, which I always liked. Living in a small village and selling wontons isn't the dream life for Guo Guo, but her love interest aka Yun Kai keeps it fresh and upbeat. There are minor bumps that come from this initial meeting but endgame, we know all know they end up. It's also the little connections between each person in this drama that made it so interesting to watch. Even though this is technically my second time if we're counting Jang Bo Ri. Between her sister, her brother-in-law, and the whole wacky story going on between their families, it's a ride you don't wanna miss.

Now as stated, I am a HUGE Sun Yi fan after watching Fifteen Years. I also recently watched Sweet Dreams where Deng Lun plays opposite Dilraba Dilmurat (yes I know, Sweet Dreams came out after this one, I'm late), another good watch. Overall, I'm big fans of the main leads and I also became big fans of other actors in this drama. I really do applaud her aunt for acting her guts out, and for her biological mother to play the villain that you kind of eventually come to forgive in the end.

The soundtrack was quite catchy, especially the opening song, so I don't mind it. If anything it was a nice and basic OST that I think you should listen through at least once if you're the type to skip the openings (which I think most of us are).

I would totally rewatch this drama if I had the chance, even over Jang Bo Ri. I love Oh Yeon Seo but the Chinese remake seems to flow better and faster than the Korean one. It felt more continuous and less of filler content.

I do wish that the Chinese drama did one thing which is the ending, so SPOILER AHEAD.

The ending in Jang Bo Ri was completely different to the one they showed in Becasue of You. You find out that in the end, the evil sister is forever scarred due to her burns and returns to run the restaurant. She's living the life that her sister had to live which sucked. However, in this version, we really don't see what happens to her which is kind of what you want to see. The Korean ver. shows how she's "repenting" for what she's done more and this version kind of leaves her future hanging. That's really the only thing I didn't like in terms of the ending.

This has been Because of You.

Before I started to watch this drama I was a bit sceptical about this because it had 56 episodes. However, I decided tog give it a shot and it was definitely worth it. This drama was very light and sweet, everyhing just fit. The plotline was not very renewing but it was also kind of different than the standard romcom drama. Though, the beginning was a bit too long for me, but after I watched through this part I found out how important this part was.

Sun Yi and Deng Lun did an amazing job, I really got to see their on-screen chemistry which was one of the main reasons I wanted to watch more and more of the serie. I think this is for me one of the best romantic Chinese drama. I am not sure whether I will rewatch it because of the 56 episode but I definetely recommend this serie.

First off, I didn't watch the Korean version of this drama. Originally, I was intrigued by the sewing aspect and was pleased to see the story feature embroidery competitions and such.

This drama is cliched in that it deals with amnesia, adopting a child, and evil, scheming antagonists. However, if you look past all these flaws, the story is truly beautiful.

MC Jin Yi Bei loses her memory and becomes is found and adopted by another family. She loses her memory and thus is given the name Zhang Guo Guo, daughter of a wonton shop. Her new sister is the troublemaker in this entire story, stealing opportunities, concealing the truth, and being vindictive. Zhang Guo Guo meets Li Yun Kai and they fall in love...but missed opportunities.

Loose ends get tied up at the end, but the chemistry between the two MC's, Deng Lun and Sun Yi are the true selling point. They are so cute together and I love all the scenes where they are chummy with each other.

Loved the music so much, I have it downloaded.

This DRAMA is and always will be one of my favorite dramas to watch, I've rewatched it probably twice. Although, it is quite lengthy, the plot line and characters really add value to the drama. The plots develop in really helpful ways that help the characters grow and find ways to rise above.

Sun Yi is just so gorgeous and was a great female lead, she really captured the perfect essence of someone who was hard working and deserving but still struggled to deal with the bad hands that life had handed her for no reason. The main male lead also grew on me as the season went by, he really stayed and supported her through all just because he loved her so much. I also liked some of the supporting characters, although most of them were a bit wack and the main female lead had basically no supporters not even her own adopted mother. SHE WAS MY MOST HATED CHARACTER, I 100% didn't understand her and just wanted to punch her in the face.

This is the perfect drama if you want a blend of some intensive drama, family problems, cute cute romance, interesting plot line and twists and then overall finally a sense of justice achieved for the characters.

Its one of those dramas where you are so captivated by the story that you don't mind it having such a long run and I'm actually glad that it was long 'cause if it wasn't then they story and the build up wouldn't have made it worth it in the end.

Story (9/10)
Its not exactly a new theme or fresh but when done correctly it is a touching and heart-warming story. There were parts of the story that I just want to pull my hair out of frustration but at the end I think that's why I grew fond of the drama. I also love every character arcs in this drama and really appreciate that they try to incorporate or share the back stories and details to make some situations more plausible and not just make it a random memory or a part of a passing conversation.
At the beginning I was kind of frustrated why the build was so slow, specially Guo Guo's character, She was strong willed and loyal, righteous and forgiving. I also love Yun Kai's character. He is this easy go lucky lawyer but when it comes to those he cares about he is very admirable. If I were him I would have resented his brother and stepmom for stepping in his life and would have found a way to make them pay for replacing his mom and that's why I appreciate the writers for not leading it in a dark path. Yun Kai even though he stresses his stepmom to death still cares and even though he would annoy his brother to hell he still cared and looked out for them in his own way.

Acting/cast (9.5/10)
Like most of very long dramas, I really hesitated before starting this one and the only reason why I watched it was for Deng Lun. This kind of roles does really fit Deng Lun, he fits the easy go lucky and loyal type of guy and I kind of find his outfits on this cute (those outrageous flashy suits, LOL). Kudos for the casting director, I think the actors played their part really well. Like Yu Xin, she was pretty and looked innocent but underneath the sheep's cloth is a wolf. I really liked the kid that played as Guo Guo's daughter she was cute and didn't seem awkward acting at all.

Music (8/10)
Honestly, I don't remember the intro and outro for the drama since I mostly skip it but the timing of the BGM in crucial moments were okay. They added that special tug on the heart during heartbreaking moments and suspense on exiting scenes.

Rewatch Value (9.5/10)
Definitely gonna watch it again. I love Yun Kai and Guo Guo's chemistry and really loved that they didn't break up at the some point unlike most Chinese Drama's that I watched. Probably gonna skip a lot of family drama and just watch Guo Guo's love story LOL, it would definitely a good pick me up.

This drama had me hooked from the first episode with the plotting, deceptive/shady characters, and intriguing storyline. I love the use of the multi-generations centered around the theme of a family business that required skill to keep running. This is the first drama I watched where I was as much invested in the storyline as much as I was in the romantic relationship between the two main leads!

Liked:
- the acting! It was truly PHENOMENAL. I HATED the second female lead with such a PASSION. That's how you know someone's playing their character really well.
- the characters all stayed true to their motives and goals
- some really sweet moments between the two main leads
- all the stories really weaved together nicely and somehow I did not get bored through all 56 episodes
- justice felt like it was served
- the theme song was so sweet

Disliked:
- some parts felt like they were a bit draggy, including some dialogue that was unnecessary
- some characters will piss you off so much because of how stubborn they are
- you will feel a lot of anguish over the injustices that the main female lead goes through :(

WATCH IT! You won't regret!!

Worth watching ... If you have a high tolerance.

While watching this drama i think I punched my pillow and almost everything around me ALOt of times. This drama got me mad every other second because of the female leads mother and sister. I have never hated a character as much as i hated the female leads sister. But It's worth watching if you have a tolerance of how many times you wanna punch the screen because of her sister, her mom AND especially SISTER and her REAL mom . I don't how many times I've said her sister made me mad in this review But i mean it I almost broke my computer watching this drama. At the end of the day I realized it was Just a drama and not real.

This is One Crazy Show! Trainwreck Done Amazingly Right.

No wonder it topped C drama charts when it aired!!!!

Review:
Ep1-Ep14-Both child Artists for YunKai and Yibei acted brilliantly specially Yibei. This is the first show I saw wherein the Leads own mother is so darn ambitious she dosent care about her own Kid.And the Aunt is the positive character.Starting the show you dont know wheater Hui Jie or Xiu Hua who deservers the position though, both are good in their own manner in embroidery.YunKais mom although has negative shades but is funny.I somehow found the Dynamics between Yunzhe and Yunkai very different but not bad.YunKai is too flamboyant but his OTT dress sense hides his pain of loosing his closest people. He fell for GouGou without knowing and Denglun and Sunyi have amazing chemistry that beats or is equal to his and Yangzis.Gou Gou is a sweetheart who dosent bow down easily and is smart, I love that about her.But her Sister and Mother are too too ambitious leasing to loathfulness, hopefully they get the retribuition they deserve.

Ep15-28:Oh Wow They all use the Phrase "Because of You" a LOT in the show.Nvm.Yun Kai 's Aunt and Pizza Conman Daddy is a Nice addition to this show though, they alongwith Yun Kai and his parents are much needed fun.Can I just say I love Guo Guo , this lady never takes any Brutality thrown against her, she is one strong Woman without Losing Her Morales,C drama needs Heroines Like Her!!Instead of all Cutesy ones who are only chasing Or being chased by the guy ishh.Yuxin Is TERRIBLE and too manipulative , even her Mom if slightly feels sorry for her adopted daughter , she just ignores everything for Her Biological Daughter. This show is an Irony on Biological v/s Adopted Mothet Daughter tbh.Love progression btwn YK and GG is wonderful and YK 's bond with Le tong is So good, that Kid Acts brilliantly.Le Tong was born to a Greedy biological family but somehow inherited her adopted Moms Nature.Yun Zhe is one strange attractive character , somehow NoOne Distinguishes him being as the Not Biological Son of Li family yet HE thinks He has not been given rights to be one,In turn he falls for Vicious Lady YX & Trouble happens. My Bet It is He who is thr Key Player to Bring Yuxin down becaue he is her Biggest Support.Lu Sichen is a Man who After XieHua and GuoGuo suffered the Most and maybe the WORST of them all, Even if he was sincere he lost all and Now is on revenge mode Without Loosing Morals, I like his character as well and Love how he Never fails to make Yuxin Scared!!Also side note from Episode 7 GG bgf Xiaoqin is Irritating , I know she was used bu GG was not at Fault for that, I mean either here Ladies are White or Black, the only Gray shaded character I saw was YK step Mom and she is Fun TBH.Li Family is weird But Way better than Jin Family.

Ep29-42:One should appreciate the Tenacity of GuoGuo , She is a Strong character without being OTT.Much of this arc was How The downfall of Yuxin starts when GuoGuo Sichen and YunKai put their Foot down.I Love how even with or without LT being GG own daughter he accepts her without any clause, his love for LT/GG is pure and that shows in his efforts.SC deserves better and I fully support howsoever rude he is to YX. Karma always bites back is true for Mum and YX , both wants to up other but are scared of each other. YZ out of Love ignores too much Tbh. Ai Yu is I dont know , too too blind for her Biological daughter, YX manipulates her way too much, had AY stopped supporting YX she couldn't have gone this far.Plot twist YZ and YK are both fathered by same Man, Wow their Dad must have been greedy once, although a Nice character Yet YKs mom was cheated and No one can deny that fact.YZ mum is not negative but she is the only one who sees thru YX but again manipulated by GGs mom to let her marry YZ ,Talk about Loop Circles.A very well crafted plot adapatation indeed! Lets see how last arc reveals.

Ep43-56:The moment YZ awoke Game changed,YX till the finale made herself accept she is the victim in turn Used and manipulated others. When YB said HJ that she envied YX bcuz her Mom did everything Immorale thing for her It hit Hard.HJ at last confessed it was Genuine.LSC and LT gudbye was Hardest to see. AY was paralyzed, YX was snatched away from her Mum like LSC and HJ repented , Karma did bite back all.I hope YZ got his HE smwhere. YK had the sanest Step Mum TBH.He was a rock to Hardrock GG and they r CP goals. The last episode was Rushed but worth the end

In conclusion, an excellent family/romantic description

THE DAMAGES OF A NARCISSISTIC PERVERT!!

Long family and romantic novel of 56 episodes in the context of traditional embroideries and large industrial groups;

The characters (all played by great actors who make us live all the emotions of this story) are well developed, with their story, their flaws, their mistakes, their goals.

What is particularly well described are the stratagems, the mechanisms, used by the narcissistic perverse "sister". She's smart, nosy, extremely manipulative and self-centered, and thinks (like all perverts) that means don't matter if one can achieve one's goals.
This series therefore tells all the consequences of the misdeeds of this girl, determined to do anything to be rich, how she exploits the flaws and weaknesses of others, how she disguises reality, how she justifies her crimes,... How she sinks into the lies to give credibility to the previous lies.

The romance is very cute and the (solid) trust within the ship is the only weapon to get out of the web of lies woven by the sister. Allen Deng and Sun Yi (the CL) demonstrate all their talent in this drama.

The production is dynamic, although it becomes lenghty in the action (episode 20 and following). The tone is quite painful in the first 20-25 episodes (where we want to hit the "great villain" and his mother. But when the "good guys" finally start to react, it gets better.
Overall, the tone (dialogues, behaviors) is right, although some scenes are a bit too melodratic.

The OSTs accompany the action/emotion quite well, but the sometimes excessive volume of the soundtrack disturbs the emotions transmitted.

In conclusion, an excellent family/romantic description.

Because Of You definitely exceeded my expectation. There's quite a bit of back story leading up to present day and the rather comical beginnings of the love between Li Yun Kai played by Allen Deng and Zhang Guo Guo played by Sun Yi. There's also a fantastic "evil sister" Zhang Yu Xin played by Wu You who you love to hate from the very start. And it MUST be said that Li Zhinan aka Li Kelvin does an outstanding job in the role of hero/vigilante Lu Sichen. There's amnesia, childhood sweethearts/enemies, deception, and if course romance. This one easily kept my attention.

Love this drama

I love this drama a lot. The story itself is not very unique or exceptional, but this one is beautifully executed. I think this is one of a few long dramas (40+ episodes) I can finish and actually enjoy watching it until the end.

I usually don't like long dramas, more often get bored in the middle of the story because most of the times the plot became waaay too draggy. But this is not happen with this one.

The story not only portrays the romance between the ML and the FL, but also beautifully portrays the relationship among the family members; the grandma, the in-laws, mother-daughter, parents-children relationship. And there are some life values that could be learned also.

Super rcommended!

Don't mind with the rewatch value, because I don't rewatch dramas. There are way too many dramas out there to be watched.
