A self-serving mythical creature's bid for invincibility backfires when he finds himself at the mercy of a woman who can see otherworldly spirits. Son Oh Gong and King Woo Ma are in conflict with each other and they look for a true light in a dark world where evils exist everywhere. ~~ Adapted from the classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West,” but reinterprets the story into the present day and hasa romantic-fantasy twist.
Cast & Credits
I dropped this drama at ep 16 and realized I did the same with Seung Gi's last drama. I don't remember if the Hong sisters were involved but, the Donkey Kong ball setup in the Gu Book was too much for me.
Back to this drama though, I dropped this drama after I realized I wasn't enjoying the episodes as much as I thought I was. This usually happens for me after I finish a series a month or so after, not while watching.
watch this as filler while waiting for you main drama to come on.
I wouldn't recommend it.
The acting and chemistry of most of the cast is great, which is expected considering pretty much all of them are great actors. However, LSG and OYS don't seem to have much chemistry even though visually they look great together. I found CSW's acting to be a little weird and annoying initially but got used to it over the course of the drama.
The music, standalone is not bad but it really doesn't fit in with the drama? The only part of the music I liked was that instrumental that played as bgm during emotional/ poignant parts of the drama. It doesn't help that the ost is often played awkardly and does not fit in with the mood of certain scenes.
Watch this if you really have nothing else to do but even then im sure you could find dramas better than this.
