A piece of a masterpiece

I just have one word for this: WOW! Guys, I enjoy regular dramas, with many clichés and cheesy romance, but I also love dramas that bring real and important themes, and this one it's just like that.

The story tells us basically about the process of grief, and I was worried about what kind of message this could bring to the audience, but I never saw this theme being approach this way. For me, every detail was incredibly beautiful and full of meaning. See the process with Moon Ha Won (Jung Hae In) since the beginning and how he grows in the process was amazing. His relationship with Han Seo Woo (Chae Soo Bin) isn't forced like a major passion, but just a connection that made both of them see their grief from another perspective. We can see that they decided to foucus on Ha Won's grief, but the process in Seo Woo's life was also very strong. I felt like I was falling in love too at the pass of the episodes, it was crazy! When Ha Won said "I love you" for the first time, my heart stopped. The side stories were also very strong for me. Kang In Wook (Kim Sung Gyu) and his redemption, Kim Ji Soo (Park Joo Hyun) and the self-forgiveness, all the characters of the Boarding House (honorable mention to Kim Min Jung (Lee Jung Eun), OMG! I just love her plot). I felt touched in every single episode, I think this is a real healing drama, as they say. My desire in the entire show was to see everyone keep going and find the purpose of their lives again.

I have to talk about the OST. We have amazing songs that fit in every single moment... The classic music that made part of the story it's also beautiful and wet my eyes in many moments. I just wanna share one of the quotes that made me think about a lot of things. This one was when Seo Woo was talking about things that made her happy:

"I go to work at my usual time and find that it's light today while was dark the day before. When that happens, I like seeing the world-changing on its own according to each season. Every day changes a little bit."

So, this is what this drama it's about. How you can suffer and be in pain in a day, but how you need to wait and see the things changing in a slow fade. For me, this is a masterpiece and a "chosen one" (★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★).

See you soon!
XOXO, Mari!

This review may contain spoilers
I love these dramas that are only like 12 episodes. The storyline was very intriguing when you lose someone that you thought you would love forever from a child to a young adult. It's hard, right? I did get angry for a minute when I felt that Ji Soo was using Ha Won because she was going through her issues. I hated that part. The best part out of all the episodes is the gadget that was invented so one can talk to the spirit of a loved one. Another time I hollered at my TV is when Seo Woo was doing the same thing Ji Soo did and that was leaving Ha Won but that didn't last long... When you can get me to holler at my TV and curse at it... that tells me that this story deserved a 10. It had me. Thank you to Jung Hae In, he is just so dang cute and talented! I saw Chae Soo Bin in I'm not a Robot and loved her in that drama series also.

Painfully slow

A quick overview of what I thought about the first few episodes.

I tried with this drama. I really did.

First of all, if you're expecting a romantic comedy, this aint for you.

A Piece of Your Mind is a melancholic/romantic drama that mixes in cheesy dialogue with a relaxed sort of vibe. And while I do appreciate what it was trying to achieve, and acknowledge that there may be a select audience that appreciates this sort of drama, I just thought that overall the drama was not executed well.

First of all, as shown in the headline, the show is painfully slow. And the show gave me no reason to stick through the plot.

The main characters are first drawn together by music, which was just about the only thing I really enjoyed about the drama along with its presentation/camera work.

Jung Hae In once again in the same role that limits any acting capabilities able to be shown. The same old serious, smiling, love chasing dude with no other emotions.

Chae Soo Bin in a slightly different artsier role, but once again, limited by the role she's in.

Then they try to make the drama all mystical like, with multiple flash backs, they strip it of all technical aspects involved due to the genre choice and it messes with the whole plot.

I assume it was trying to achieve something similar to "Her" but the connection just wasn't there. Like why do I care when a A.I suddenly is able to express their thoughts and emotions when I know nothing about anyone involved? They shroud everything in mystery without even giving me a taste of wanting to know more. I'm not given any reason to care.

We'll see how it goes, but based on what I've seen so far, my interest is dwindling.

First, i'm watching it solely because of Jung Hae In.

But let me tell you, despite all the low rating and bashing about how boring this drama could be, I found this story is very heartwarming. Yes it is slow but i love it the way it is because it describes all the emotions so well, slow but steady.
Both the main leads have a good chemistry and convey their emotions very well, and all the supporting characters adding this story a beautiful garnish.
The OST is really compatible with each scene and makes us drawn into it more.

Fall in love with Jung Hae In all over again with his presence :) I just love him they way he is, calm and quiet. This role really suits his personality too.

If you are looking for a drama to make your heart warms, and or take a break from all the serious and fast-paced drama, then this is the one for you.

Even though I only watched four episodes, I can confirm that it was enough to fall in love. The
first thing catch my attention is cinematography, The tones are soft, warm & welcoming. The second thing is plot, At start it was little confusing but it reveal itself slowly and gives you a feeling of curiosity. Coming to actors Jung Hae In's acting is so moving, he has the ability to make you see his feeling that you cannot help but fall for his character. Chae soo bin portraying her character beautifully. sound track is melancholy and overwhelming. This drama gives a feeling of warmness.
Cannot Wait to see new episodes ?♥️
It's definitely worth a watch...!!

TRUST ME DON'T DROP IT

When I first heard of this drama I was so excited because the ML are my favourite actors. I watch the first 2 episodes I also but to neck myself questioning why the narrative was so crap and confusing for these amazing actors. But I had to go on because their my fav actors. I read reviews to convince myself because many times I kept doubting why is this so shit such a shame... I disagree with other reviews saying they were saying how "people don't appreciate the slow narrative & cinematics" because excuse you I certainly do but I still wanted to neck myself.

I think personally it was just the ordering of the narrative if they started at a different point and moved it around they would have more viewers for sure!!! I do agree when people say "it's a filler" but I mean the filler was 2 eps too long they should have placed this as a flashback or something but not get rid of it so people can understand the cinematics and appreciation towards it section because it's a new style.

BUT DON'T drop it this drama is a work of art the music and aesthetics are AMAZING as you continue to watch the storyline of the characters and their behaviours become understandable and less creepy. This drama has approached a new style its like a romantic puzzle. I think with dramas it's important to make the first episode at a bit exciting tell a bit more of the narrative but it just wasn't for this drama you are given no context. That's why ratings didn't go well. But I'm IN LOVE guys so far :) it's definitely worth giving it a chance answers will come if ur confused!

A Piece of Your Mind: A Gentle Symphony of Love, Loss, and AI

First things first, can we take a moment to appreciate Jung Hae-in? This guy is seriously becoming the king of soft, thoughtful male leads, and I am here for it! In this drama, he plays Moon Ha-won, a brilliant AI programmer with a heart of gold and a past full of unrequited love. Watching him navigate his emotions while trying to create an AI that understands human feelings? Pure poetry, I tell you!

And then we have Chae Soo-bin as Han Seo-woo, a classical music recording engineer with her own share of emotional baggage. Her character is like a breath of fresh air – quirky, resilient, and so relatable. The way she slowly brings Ha-won out of his shell had me cheering from my couch!

Now, let's talk about the pace. If you're looking for high-octane drama and plot twists every five minutes, this might not be your cup of tea. But if you're in the mood for a slow-burn romance that feels like a warm hug on a cold day, buckle up! The show takes its time to develop the characters and their relationships, and trust me, it's worth every minute.

One thing that really stood out to me was how the drama weaves together themes of artificial intelligence, music, and human emotions. It's like a beautiful symphony where each element plays its part to create something truly magical. The way they use classical music to underscore emotional moments? Chef's kiss

But what really got me was the exploration of grief, healing, and the power of human connection. Without giving too much away, there's a storyline involving a character's lost love that had me reaching for the tissues. It's handled with such care and sensitivity that you can't help but be moved. And let me tell you, even if I watch it for the nth time, I'm gonna cry. Every. Single. Time. It's that powerful and touching!

The cinematography deserves a special shout-out too. Every frame looks like a piece of art, from the cozy interiors to the stunning Norwegian landscapes. I swear, I spent half the show googling flights to Norway!

Is it perfect? Well, no drama is. Sometimes the AI concepts can get a bit confusing, and if you're not into slow-paced, introspective shows, you might find yourself checking your watch. But for me, these are tiny blips in what is otherwise a beautiful, thoughtful exploration of love and healing.

So, if you're in the mood for a drama that'll make you think, feel, and maybe look at the world a little differently, give "A Piece of Your Mind" a shot. It's like a warm cup of tea for your soul – comforting, soothing, and leaves you feeling just a little bit better about the world.

A Piece of Your Mind has A Piece of My Heart

I just finished another rewatch and thought to leave a very short review for this gem.

I love this drama so much.

While watching it gives me a very warm feeling. The relationship of Ha Won and Seo Woo is what I imagine an ideal relationship is like. A relationship of mutual longing, respect and reciprocation.

Some might call it slow, but for me that is how it's meant to be, a story driven by characters rather than plot. The atmospheric directing and very good music alongside that help to elevate my watching experience.

Too bad the 4 episodes were cut and always left us wondering of what could have been. But that was what it was, and as it is, the drama is perfect for me.

Mixed thoughts

"A Piece of Your Mind" is a serene, composed, and emotionally charged drama. Initially, I struggled to grasp the storyline, but out of admiration for the leads, I persevered. As the plot unraveled, it revealed the bond between two childhood friends who grew up together in Norway, sharing their entire journey from childhood to adulthood. Despite their mutual love, a rift caused the boy to leave Norway. In his absence, a new person entered the girl's life, becoming her boyfriend. When they reunited, the boy became possessive, leading to their ( childhood friends) separation. The boy, an AI engineer, created a device capable of storing and replicating voices, aiming to provide solace to those who have lost loved ones. His motive was to preserve his girlfriend's voice and memories, allowing him to communicate with her. He enlisted the help of the female lead to record his girlfriend's voice and experiences, similar to Siri. However, I found it perplexing why his girlfriend didn't confide in the female lead about her predicament. She went to Norway alone for piece of her mind and she stuck in a snow .Despite having the opportunity to seek help from the Norwegian police, she chose not to, ultimately leading to her demise while conversing with the female lead. This aspect of the storyline was difficult to comprehend. Nonetheless, the drama excelled in other aspects, with minimal romance but a captivating plot overall.

It ‘s ten from me folks ✨

here’s my incoherent attempt at a review
I absolutely loved the overall vibe of this drama for me it’s unparalleled. The scenes felt so comforting and nostalgic for some reason.
Personally i love the way seoul nights were portrayed in this drama - the quiet mellow romantic side of seoul. The empty uphill alleys illuminated by street lamps just feel so beautiful to me .
And the traditional style house with the bug windows where you can watch the snow fall with your love JUST SO COMFORTING i want taht for me so bad.

I personally enjoy story lines with unrequited love and moving on from it rather than getting them to lovw u back so this aspect was also heartbreakingly perfect for me.

This drama has it flaws but if your looking for a comforting mellow drama give it a try.
( this drama made me fall in love with jung hae in lowkey sad hes not doing melodramas no more ?? but hes so hot in action deamas so cant complain))

One of the best coming-of-spring kdramas so far

I'm still sad about the fact TVN cut this drama to 12 ep instead of 16 eps just because of low ratings. The drama is literally such a masterpiece. The cinematography gives so much comfort and warm feels to it, you can actually feel the warmness when you watch it.
Jung Haein's acting never disappoints and tbh this drama should rank one of his best ones out there. He adds so much emotion and expression to it. FL is also very good, I have loved her acting for a long time, and she was perfect for this role.

Storyline itself is written well. Although the start might not have that "hook" that usually most kdrama writers use in the first two episodes, you have to watch it very closely to actually understand the drama's progression. A lot of people think this drama's "technological" element let it down, but I think it's something very new.

Overall, I think this drama is just too perfect for masses to truly appreciate, so I'll be the only advocate for this lol
