Worth to Watch
As I never watch the Taiwan’s version of Seret, I had zero expectations for this movie. But as I know the casts are good actors in South Korea, I believe that they’re going to deliver the movie as good as the original one (well, in my opinion). And its true!!!KyungSoo’s eyes while acting always able to deliver all the meaning of his acting. He always acts with his eyes. His eyes always speaks for his acting. And Won JinAh’s acting such a lovable one here. Her loves for YooJun really that deep like duhh, I even can't describe it properly. Shin YeeEun? She’s so gorgeous here! Her acting as YooJun’s close friend who misinterpret his action’s really good.
I guess you guys need to watch this movie. It’s so enjoyable tho.

A Romantic Movie ft. Shocking Twist
I watched Secret: Untold Melody this evening! It was very good, I enjoyed it a lot!! It's a heartwarming romantic movie with beautiful instrumentals in the background. I haven't watched the Taiwanese version, so I have zero expectations. The legendary piano battle has to be my favorite scene! Oh, and the plottwist definitely left me speechless.. I felt excited, shy, shocked, confused, sad, and had a good laugh, too!
Doh Kyungsoo once again amazed me through his acting. He has such expressive eyes to deliver Yoo-Joon's emotions very well plus he plays the piano very skillfully.
I'll definitely go for a rewatch!

An Intense, Heartfelt Remake: A Cinematic Journey of Secret: Untold Melody
The Korean remake of Secret: Untold Melody offers a refreshing take on the original version, with a more detailed & emotionally layered ending. The remake strikes a perfect balance between humor & poignant moments, making it both heartwarming & engaging. Kyungsoo's ability to convey deep emotion through subtle eye expressions & his body language while playing the piano is nothing short of mesmerizing. The chemistry between the leass is undeniable. It's a beautiful tribute to the original, while also giving the remake its own unique visual identity that compliments the heartfelt & intense performance. I would give this film a repeat!Cet avis était-il utile?

The chemistry just isn't there
FYI, I’ve never watched the original film, so I’m judging this purely based on this version. For me, the biggest plus point in this movie is all the piano scenes. Seriously, they were so good—the cinematography, the actors playing the piano, and the emotions? Chef’s kiss. The comedy was also pretty decent.
But…
I’ve watched all of D.O’s works (except Hello, Monster), and honestly, this movie is the most disappointing one for me.
For the first time, I didn’t feel any chemistry between D.O and his co-star. Like, in Bad Prosecutor, even though there was no love line, the chemistry was still there. The weird thing is, this movie’s main conflict revolves around romance, yet the chemistry between D.O and Won Jin A just wasn’t there at all.
Even though, technically, this movie has a happy ending romance-wise, it felt more like a sad ending to me.
Why? Because Kim Yu Jun’s bond with his dad felt way stronger than his bond with Yoo Jeong A. And that’s disappointing because it made me feel like there was no real reason for Yu Jun to leave his dad for a girl he’s only met a few times.
Another reason why I didn’t feel like the leads had to end up together was that I just didn’t see any real bonding moments between them. Their scenes jumped around too much—one moment they’re here, then suddenly they’re there, and then boom, they’re a couple.
Yeah, I get that Yoo Jeong A wasn’t always present in the story, but maybe her scenes could’ve been written more smoothly and naturally.
Even the plot twist wasn’t surprising. From the start, I already had a feeling that Yoo Jeong A wasn’t a ghost. The whole concept kinda reminded me of Your Name (Kimi no Nawa). I guessed she was a time traveler and that she could only appear in the piano room. The only new information I got during the big reveal was that “the first person she sees will be the only one who can see her.”
So yeah, the twist wasn’t shocking, and there were some unnecessary repetitive scenes.
Usually, when I watch movies like this, I don’t care about anything else as long as the male lead and female lead end up together. But this time, I didn’t feel that urgency at all. Especially with Yu Jun’s hand injury—it wasn’t explored deeply enough and healed way too fast.
Honestly, if it weren’t for D.O, I probably wouldn’t have finished this movie. It’s not the worst movie I’ve ever seen, but it’s definitely one of those films that wouldn’t make a difference if I never watched it.
Maybe I’ll check out the original and other adaptations for comparison. The story concept itself is interesting, but something about this version just feels… off.

For any remake, they would either do it exactly the same and not have leeway to have their own creative ideas Or change it and lose the original essence
Here, eventho I haven’t seen the og, many say it stayed the same, beside them being in uni and not highschoolers, tbh I feel like 20s is better for groundbreaking star crossed lovers
They also missed out big time on showing both of them playing at the same time to add more urgency
And he could’ve “reached her first” cuz he plays faster and both would be on the piano stool
I kinda interpret it as both dying with the piano cuz she died already in the past and he wanted to go back as the rocks fell on him
So I was waiting for blood to trickle down after he saw her, he gets to confirm the truth and cuz like, he can’t really “live” there if no one sees him besides her
So the ending was abrupt tho I liked their “rule” that the first person she sees is the only person that could see her for the future but they never explained the past
I thought there were things that stopped her from going or appearing, not that she was there but he couldn’t see her
So in the og ppl say he graduated with her so could ppl see him?
Were ppl not seeing her in the future cuz supposedly she already tried to go when the building was demolished and she died, so she didn’t “exist” in the world
Meanwhile him going back to a time he was alive in, so ppl could see him?
and tbh the dads stories were always hilarious xD
It was sad, but he’s in the present so technically he’ll turn around and see his son as a 40ish year old🤣
It’s him that loses his life but he also wanted to run away
Demolishing the old grand piano was ridiculous, like if the present could change, they can just buy the piano before the building is destroyed, so many what ifs…
In a book with time traveling, they’d say you can’t change the past, so if someone survives, they’d hide until the present, and they’ll reappear cuz the future is “unwritten”
But it’s a loop, if she doesn’t die, her mom wouldn’t tell him, so he won’t try to go back, so she’ll die..
Unless the “she disappeared” is about them both running away together, always in hiding cuz no one sees him and they’ll think she’s crazy xD
Also speaking of unseen, I hate when movies do a slowmo and zoom ins when something is mentioned that hints to the truth
Like the balloon pupping, she was hit by the powder, but no one sees her, so moving things, opening doors, nothing was seen besides by 1 so did it really happen?
Also the curtain scene was done so over vaguely I didn’t even see her hand so I was like “ah she’s not really there” xD
And when someone mentions a twist, either she’s a ghost, he is, or time traveling and such

Every day with you
Very nice. This movie fulfilled my craving for romantic stories I didn’t even know I had. The opening scene led us to expect a miracle—and that’s exactly what we got: a beautiful, heartwarming story that connects two young people in an extraordinary way, through music. The production quality is excellent. The actors were good, though all except the main protagonists felt more or less like shadows in the background. The heart of the film lies in the miracle of love—a love that seems impossible, yet longs to share every day and every moment with the beloved. This is a movie for people of faith, for those who dare to believe. It truly warmed my heart while also entertaining me with lovely pieces of music.
In short: this is a classic Korean romantic movie with a somewhat original twist. The description says it's a remake of a Taiwanese film, which was already remade in Japan last year. I wonder which version is the best—Taiwanese, Japanese, or Korean? And who knows, maybe Hollywood will make its own version in the future as well.

Feel good movie with an unexpected plot twist
So I basically watched the movie because of kyungsoo and I haven't watched the original as I watched this movie it started out slow but then it pick up pace the plot twist that I was not sure about but I felt like something was wrong with fl like nobody was noticing her she felt like air and the ml was talking to her the plot twist explained it really well she was from the past the secret she was hiding from him from the start the movie was good but ending felt like a tragedy for me especially for the ml like he went to the past in the end leaving behind everything even his dad the piano got destroyed so he can't go back only the fl can see him idk this just feels like bittersweet ending to me on one hand they ended with each other which is happy while on the other hand the ml lost a lot of his things in this process which is really sadCet avis était-il utile?

A Beautiful Musical Romance Full of Emotion, but Not Without Flaws
watched Secret: Untold Melody without any big expectations, and overall, I really enjoyed it. It’s a visually beautiful film with a soft, bittersweet story and a stunning soundtrack. It didn’t completely move me, but it definitely left a lasting impression. The story follows Yu-jun (Doh Kyung-soo), a quiet and talented pianist who transfers to a new arts school. There, he meets Jung-ah (Won Jin-ah), a mysterious girl playing a beautiful melody in an abandoned music room. Their connection grows through music, and slowly, their bond deepens but it’s clear from the start that Jung-ah is hiding something.
One of the things I loved most about this film is its melancholic atmosphere. The cinematography is calm and gentle, with soft colors and warm lighting that almost make the whole story feel like a dream. Visually, it’s really well done.
The soundtrack is easily the strongest aspect. The piano pieces are emotional and beautifully composed. The music speaks louder than words, often expressing what the characters feel but don’t say. It carries the emotional weight of the film, and there were moments where the music alone moved me.
Doh Kyung-soo impressed me with his performance. His character is very reserved, but he conveys a lot through subtle expressions, especially in the piano scenes. Won Jin-ah is quiet and mysterious, and she fits her role well. Their chemistry is soft and slow-burning—not overly romantic, but heartfelt. The supporting characters, like Yu-jun’s friends and mother, were okay, but could’ve been more developed.
If I had to point out a flaw, it would be the pacing. The film is quite slow at times. It takes a while for the plot to pick up, and some scenes drag on a bit. The mystery behind Jung-ah is interesting, but a little predictable if you're familiar with this type of story. I was hoping for a twist or something more unexpected.
The ending is emotional and sad, and I think it wraps things up nicely, even if it didn’t hit me as hard as I thought it would. It’s a quiet kind of sadness that lingers.
In short, Secret: Untold Melody is a touching film with a dreamy mood and a memorable soundtrack. It’s not a masterpiece, but for fans of emotional, music-centered romance with a bit of mystery, it’s definitely worth watching.

Well made but almost similar to the original
Not sure why would they remake a legendary film when they have almost no new input to an already well established premise, which the original version itself also blew up in Korea some decades ago, but really this script has proven to be successful so it's hard to go wrong with it. At least the overall quality is very well made and decently acted, though they've tweaked it with a different ending that feels less tragic, which somehow takes away a significant part of that sorrow and grief, now it's more like a respectful tribute to sweep up that waves of nostalgia in this untold melody approach, still a satisfying watch nonetheless.Cet avis était-il utile?

I wanted so much to love it but it fell short
Years ago I saw & loved the original Taiwanese version- & Highly anticipated a Korean version, especially with D.O. in a romantic role . As of this writing it is on Amazon Prime video [for purchase.] I dread saying it but to be brutally honest, [and honesty in this instance does feel brutal] It felt rushed , right from the start. The original version suffered from the same issue . There needed to be a sense that the leads were meeting over a few weeks , if not a few months to build a relationship. Another negative was that the camera gives you whiplash as it bounces back & forth around in different scenes (piano competition "duel" for instance) . Beautiful scenes lacked seamlessness making for a disjointed storyline. I blame the director & the editor for depriving us of perfection :PThat said; I will watch it again, good cast, lovely romance (even if it is too quickly started)

The storyline is quite meh
Honestly, the movie is kinda disappointing... I've been waiting for this to come out for months and always watched their promotions on the yt channel 🥲 I didn't watch the original so I'm just writing this based on this version. The ending is kinda meh Idk and also, the pace is too fast and their relationship is soooo fast that I didn't really feel enough connection between them. I'm excited about this movie for Won Jinah but I'm quite disappointed :/ But I guess, you can watch this movie if you wanna support your fav actors hahaha ^^Cet avis était-il utile?
