Parasyte: The Grey (2024)

Parasité, mais captivée !

Je suis lancée dans "Parasyte: The Grey" sans connaître le manga, donc aucune idée de ce que j’étais censée attendre… mais franchement ? J’ai adoré me faire happer sans repère 😮‍💨💥

Dès les premières minutes, l’ambiance m’a scotchée 😵‍🔥, c'est sombre, tendue, avec un vrai souffle dramatique et une tension constante 👍🏻. On est directement plongé dans un monde en perdition, entre science-fiction et drama humain ultra prenant. visuellement ? C’est super bien fait, les effets sont flippants comme il faut 🫣👀👌🏻

Le personnage de Jung Soo In m’a vraiment marquée. Son évolution, sa dualité avec le parasite, ses regards ambigus... wow 😳💔 Y’a quelque chose de profondément humain et inhumain à la fois ce qui m’a tenue en haleine tout du long. Et puis ce délire de savoir « qui est encore humain ? », c’est glaçant mais hyper captivant 🔍🧬

Même sans connaître le manga, j’ai trouvé que l’univers était riche et bien construit. Il y a une vraie réflexion derrière les scènes d’action : "qu’est-ce que ça veut dire d’être humain ?, comment on cohabite avec ce qui nous échappe ?.., 🧠✨" Et tout ça sans nous perdre dans du blabla inutile, le rythme est fluide, efficace 💪🏻

Le final m’a laissée frustrée (mais dans le bon sens) 😩🤣
👉🏻 j’ai juste envie d'une saison 2 direct là maintenant !!! 😅 J’ai besoin de réponses, de développements, de plus de sueurs froides et d’émotions contradictoires 😈💔

Bref, c’était sombre, prenant et très stylé, une vraie claque visuelle et émotionnelle 🤯🖤✌🏻

A Fantastic Reinterpretation of the world of Parasyte

Parasyte the Grey somehow managed to tell a compelling story with great characters within a short six episodes. Every single scene moved the story forward. Exposition scenes were well done and did not overstay their welcome. Character introductions and motivations were precise. You're quickly told who everyone is and what they're here to do and the story starts running and never stops.

The actors themselves did a terrific job. Especially Jeon Sonee as the lead. Her mannerisms and the inflection in her voice switched between two roles brilliantly. You quickly get attached to her character and want to see her be in her better place and show rewards you (breaks your heart too) for that. And it's not just lead who develops but the side characters as well. Particularly Koo Kyohwan and Lee Junghyun's characters.

I don't see this show as a horror but it definitely delivers on the action, sci-fi front. As to be expected with such a great director. The action is fast paced and well shot. The brief worldbuilding that we get is enough to get you invested in this changing world. The music was nothing special but definitely fit the atmosphere.

You definitely need no knowledge of the original manga or anime adaptation to watch this. It's a splendid story on its own. But it does excite them with that ending scene in the finale.
