Blank Season 2 (2024)

Episode by episode (No spoilers)

Ep 1: I really liked how they delivered exactly what we wanted from Anueng at that moment. The actresses are putting on a great performance, they really gave themselves to the character. I'm really looking forward to the next episodes, especially to see how they interact with Chet and the others. Speaking of Chet, I believe we will be very angry with him in the next episodes.
---------- Negative point (for me): I wish there weren't so many moments without background music, and that the noise would be reduced. It looks like they put a lavalier microphone on the actresses at full volume.

Ep 2: I was missing our naughty Anueng. The way she says "Ar Nueeeeng" S2S2S2S2... I screamed a lot during the episode. Ar Nueng, take care of yourself, because Anueng is dying to kiss you in the middle of the street and end all the secrets. It's so funny to see how Anueng can make Ar Nueng embarrassed with a simple kiss on the cheek or a cheeky look hahahaha.

Ep 3: I freaked out so much and screamed so much in this episode! How can these two be so shameless? The face doesn't even shake when they lie hahahahaha... Anueng is so sassy! She managed to win over Nueng when she was tired. She knows what she's good at! Conquering ladies hahaha.

EP 4: This end of the episode destroyed our sanity! How do I wait for the next episode??? Please don't do that joke: The person thinks they're not good enough to be with their Lover, so they start treating them badly or pushing them away for "their good".

EP 5: I can't believe there's only 1 episode left! The end of this episode really left anyone anxious!

Ep 6: This is the kind of series that you want to forget and watch again, because you know it will take a long time to find a similar or better series in the same genre.

Enemy to Near-Lover Conversion

What a journey Blank took me on! I went from not recommending the first season to now saying I'd recommend the second one.

I saw quite an improvement since S1. Anueng, while still messing around and acting cute, acted more her age, which made me feel far more comfortable with her relationship with Nueng. She also bit back and had more sass to her.

Nueng also gave Anueng's feelings more consideration, expressed herself more, and found enough strength within her to stand up and fight for her and Anueng's relationship.

The chemistry between our two FLs also got stronger. Intimate scenes were truly intimate, and even short phone calls had me blushing.

I also felt this season finally managed to strike a pretty decent balance between being truly mature and melodramatic with soap opera twists. It wasn't perfect, but it was done well enough that, at the very least, I was consistently entertained. I found myself fully engaged in S2.

Also, can I just say, I think this was one of the rare times I found the trope of getting in an accident and falling into a coma to actually work. It allowed needed time to pass so Anueng's family could come to terms with Nueng's presence in her life and, even if they weren't glad she was dating Anueng, at least see how she cared for her and would stay by her side. I'll admit its effectiveness here impressed me.

I'd be downright pleased if we got more Sapphic stories like this.

Great chemistry, heavy themes, and a love-it-or-leave-it vibe.

Blank is one of those shows wherein I enjoy the actors' chemistry and acting more than the show itself. I say this because the show's conflicts, drama, and themes feel like a reincarnation of GAP, and we all know GAP wasn't the most perfect show. It managed to get me through without experiencing the struggle to get myself to finish the show because it was THE pioneering Thai GL series. However with Blank, it is its downfall in my opinion.

Which brings me to my main concern which is the recurring conflicts that I'm pretty fed up in seeing in most GL shows which are internalized homophobia, societal judgement, and family obligations. This is not to say these issues are not worth having their representation, it's merely just me expressing how I would rather not watch a show with these themes because it's not entertaining to me but rather uncomfortable. I intend to share this since I know a lot of people also hate having to sit through a show with said conflicts since it evokes some unwanted familiar feeling which most people like me wish to escape from when watching fictional shows as a form of escapism. Plus, the age gap makes me quite uncomfortable, so I couldn't enjoy the show fully.

Now that I shared my feelings as to why I had a hard time finishing Blank despite me absolutely loving the chemistry between the main leads, let me now share what I think this series did well and kept me interested. 1) Khun Nueng as a character with a lot of unresolved internal conflicts was portrayed well by Faye. You could clearly see the inner struggles Nueng was facing like lack of self-acceptance and feelings of unworthiness. 2) Blank showed us that it takes a hurt individual to heal another hurt person. 3) Faye and Yoko's chemistry.

To sum everything up, for me, I feel like Blank is the type of show that needs someone to have subjective bias to the themes as well as to love scenes (because trust me, this show has tension and love making like never before) it has to be considered a good show by the watcher. This show may not have been for me, but I know a lot of people may appreciate it for what it delivers.

LORD HAVE MERCY!!!!!!!! oh this is the best gl everrr. Just after watching the first season i thought this was one of the few good gls but the second season got me hookeddd. I love every bit of this season, didnt yawn once, didnt want to blink like everrrr. Man, the chemistry is out of this world, and the intimacy is just purely precious. I can't see anyone beating Faye and Yoko for this or in the world of gl in general. Neung and Aneung will make you smile, laugh, sad, cry, and happy; they'll make you feel the butterflies and all that good stuff. I totally recommend this masterpiece. Hands down the best out there.

I really didn't like how Anueng interacted with Nueng in the beginning especially when she was extremely clingy and acted like a child. It really made me uncomfortable. Also, the first two sex scenes doesn't seem as consensual especially when Anueng was drunk. The acting later on is really good tho and I can see why it moves the story forward. I just wished the first meeting of these two characters weren't like that and the two sex scenes weren't like that. There are some characters that were left out and we never knew what they were doing until towards the ending so it seemed rushed and not really fleshed out characters. They were just characters that the main characters were using like Folk for example.
