Kanami, an office worker, and a cram school teacher were planning to go on a trip to Taiwan together, but due to influenza at their workplace, there were not enough teachers and the trip was canceled. Kanami travels to Taiwan alone. Then she meets Woo Shun in a taxi. After that, when her passport was stolen, she meet Woo Shun again and stays at his guest house.

The movie is centered around the romance between a Russian officer, a war prisoner in Matsuyama, and a Japanese nurse who find themselves on opposing sides of the war. It is a kind of "Romeo and Juliet story of the Russo-Japanese War". The movie is a Japanese/Russian co-production and also features Russian actors. The Russian prisoner of war is played by Rodion Galyuchenko, while the Japanese nurse is played by Abe Junko.
