EXO's Doh Kyung Soo, Won Jin Ah's upcoming K-movie to reportedly premiere in 2025
Resident Playbook will possibly premiere in 2025 after several postponements.
On December 13, media outlets reported that the much-anticipated medical K-drama Resident Playbook will finally premiere next summer. tvN has released the confirmed K-dramas that will premiere in 2025 but Resident Playbook was not on the list. Today, reports stated that after postponements, the K-drama will premiere in the summer of 2025.
tvN responded to the reports. According to the broadcast channel, "There's nothing confirmed yet. We will inform you once it is confirmed."
The highly anticipated K-drama Resident Playbook was set to premiere in the first half of 2024. However, a crisis within the South Korean medical industry forced tvN to delay the series indefinitely. The network filled the vacant time slot with The Midnight Romance in Hagwon led by Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Joon. The exclusion of Resident Playbook from tvN's 2025 drama slate has only deepened fans' worries about the show's future.
Resident Playbook will showcase the real-life stories, friendships, and struggles of professors and residents at a university hospital. The K-drama will focus on the obstetricians and gynecologists working at the Jongno Yulje Hospital.
Go Youn Jung, Shin Shi Ah, Kang Yoo Seok, Jung Joon Won, Han Ye Ji, and Lee Bong Ryun will lead the upcoming K-drama.
Director Lee Min Soo (The Secret House and Good For You) and writer Kim Song Hee will work together for the series. The original team of Hospital Playlist director Shin Won Ho and writer Lee Woo Jung will also join the production of the K-drama as creators.
Resident Playbook is the spin-off of the hit tvN K-drama Hospital Playlist. The K-drama had two seasons and both have been successful. Resident Playbook was widely expected to be a hit as well.
