Netflix has officially confirmed the main leads of the upcoming historical romance K-drama Scandal.

On March 27, Netflix officially announced that Son Ye Jin, Ji Chang Wook, and After School's Nana will be the main leads of the upcoming K-drama Scandal

Scandal will be the remake of the 2003 film, and the story will be adapted from the French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos-de-Laclos. Set in the Joseon Dynasty, the K-drama will follow a woman possessing exceptional abilities, who, bound by the restrictions imposed on women, dares to play a dangerous love game with Joseon's legendary playboy.

The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration work of director Jung Ji Woo (Somebody, Tune in for Love, and Heart Blackened) and writers Lee Seung Young (The Art of Negotiation) and Ahn Hye Song.

Scandal will reportedly begin filming in the first half of 2025. It is expected to premiere in 2026 with 8 episodes.

Son Ye Jin will give life to the character named Madam Cho. She is a woman of exceptional ability who refuses to be limited by her gender. She boldly proposes a dangerous love game to the legendary playboy who admires her.

Ji Chang Wook will be Cho Won in the upcoming K-drama. He is known as Joseon's legendary playboy. He enjoys dating but does not believe in love. He will do anything by any means just to win Madam Cho's heart and win the game.

Nana will portray the role of Hui Yeon, a widow who remained celibate for nine years. The arrival of Cho Won makes it impossible for her to resist him, and she finds it difficult to distance herself.

Aside from Son Ye Jin, Ji Chang Wook, and Nana, idol actors SF9's Chani and SECRET's Han Sun Hwa will also reportedly join the cast of the K-drama.
