Park Bo Gum will reportedly lead a new historical war film
Son Ye Jin will reportedly star as a CEO in her next K-drama.
On February 11, industry insiders revealed that Son Ye Jin would be the main lead of the upcoming K-drama Variety which was also offered to idol-actress Jo Yu Ri. According to reports, she will play the role of the CEO of an idol agency.
Son Ye Jin's side and the production company of the K-drama responded to the circulating reports.
According to the actress's agency, "Son Ye Jin received an offer to star in Variety. She is carefully reviewing the K-drama and has not yet made a final decision. She is currently busy filming her upcoming Netflix series."
CJ ENM Studios, which will produce the K-drama, also revealed, "We offered the role to Son Ye Jin, but the K-drama is still in its early stages of preparation. Nothing has been confirmed yet. We are still in discussions regarding the broadcast schedule and other casting."
The upcoming K-drama Variety will provide insights into the happenings within the idol industry.
This will be the next work of director Kim Yong Hoon who also created the hit Netflix original K-drama Mask Girl.
Son Ye Jin received an offer to portray the role of a charismatic idol agency CEO. Reports claim that the character will be inspired by former ADOR CEO, Min Hee Jin.
Meanwhile, Son Ye Jin is set to return to the K-drama scene after three years.
Son Ye Jin will lead the upcoming Netflix original K-drama Scandal with Ji Chang Wook. She will also lead the upcoming film There Is No Choice alongside Lee Byung Hun, Park Hee Soon, Lee Sung Min, Yeom Hye Ran, and Cha Seung Won. The movie will reportedly premiere within the year.
