How many anime have you seen that have been ruined by excessive things such as over the top comedy, unnecessary ecchi and even too much gore/horror with not enough story.
I personally think anime with darker themes like Triage X and Highschool of the dead would be insanely better if you took out the ridiculous ecchi, they have storylines which could be expanded on into multiple seasons and give people who want the darker stuff something. Instead it seems like a lot of these potentially dark and excited anime are ruined by things like this.
