More serious and/or historically accurate Cdramas Recommendations

Hi Everybody

I`m looking for some recommendations of more serious and/or historically accurate  dramas. If going for the historical ones I don`t need them to be 100% historically accurate, as they are fiction works, but at least they should have the correct atmosphere and a degree of authenticity.

Period-wise everything until Ming Dynasty included (so no Republican era and around).

I really enjoy period "idol" dramas, wuxia and xianxia, but sometimes I need something deeper, with an added artistic value  (I`m a mood watcher, no offense to regular idol dramas of course).

I can enjoy both slower paced and fast paced/action packed dramas. Just please advise if there is a sad ending, as I need to be mentally prepared for those.

If you have time I recommend you watch : Long Zhu Chuan Qi

I recommend The Imperial Coroner, one of my most favourite dramas! And also The Glory (I'm only on episode 6 but I'm really enjoying it so far). 

And I feel you, give me a good historical drama before any xianxia lol. 

Possibly:

• The Imperial Doctress (I only watched a couple eps but based upon what I've heard)
• Love Story of Court Enemies 
•  A Dream of Splendor 
• The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty 
• The Ingenious One 
• Under the Power 
•  Love in Between (it's considered a wuxia...but I don't see it.)
• Good Bye, My Princess (sad ending)
• One and Only (sad ending)
• The Story of Pearl Girl (I didn't care for it but it has that vibe. sad ending)

was about to recommend Battle of Changsha because that's probably the most realistic (as it can be) historical cdramas i've ever watched. but it sets in 1940s and just realized you don't want that setting. -it also has the same team as NiF-  still, i'm lobbing it to you lol just in case you want to get out of your comfort zone

also, Story of Minglan. long but gold.  Think of it as the premium version of Sword and Brocade. 

For historically accurate Chinese dramas, consider Nirvana in Fire, The Imperial Doctress, Secret of the Three Kingdoms, Story of Yanxi Palace, and Yongzheng Dynasty for rich historical detail.
