what is your top 3 favourite industries/ jobs shown in romantic/ non romantic dramas. like for example in dream high everything revolves around the music/ idol business, or in her private life its art.

entertainment(acting/music)

fashion

art

HM: sports : the reason its not in the top 3 is because not every sport is fun or entertaining to watch

im just curious tbh

For me it's

  1. Police detective
  2. Surgeon
  3. Martial artist/superhuman

It does not matter what industry/job/work/profession, I would like it as long as it is showcased in somehow believable way and have briefly good information about how does it work/operate/face challenges/fight competition, etc.

Some examples:

Naked Director - This is about PORN industry. But the drama is based off (aka biography of) real porn director, so most of the plot felt real, with good amount of information related to Japan's porn industry that you can easily cross check for its authenticity.

Yamikin Ushijima-kun - This is fictional story of an illegal money lender (based on manga) but it's very informative in terms of how money lending business is working and the challenges faced by the money lenders. You will be warned on every criminal actions throughout the drama but surprisingly you will still root for them (money lender).

Juhan Shuttai - This is mainly focus on manga publishing but the drama also touched on printed media industry as a secondary topic.  TBH this drama simply taught me the A-to-Z of Japan Manga industry without first have to go to Japan or be an Otaku. This is not the first drama I watched about manga as well. That's how informative it is.

Hanzawa Naoki - Here comes the legend. You may have watched it already or at least heard about it. Before this drama no one would have thought a business drama could be this engaging (including me). But Hanzawa Naoki is simply phenomenal thanks to its fictional revenge plot with the "fight back doubles" slogan. What makes it even greater, is the authenticity of the banking system and the inside out of Japan financial industry, which basically served as an educational watch as well.

On the job/profession that always be shown in dramas like salaryman, CEO, police, detectives, medical personnel, legal practitioners, chefs, teachers, TV staff, entertainer, musician, etc. I would watch based on the plot instead of the industry.

I also prefer the lesser talked about profession/job/industry/work over the usually glamorous one, as long as the profession isn't used just to make the characters look fancy without any SIGNIFICANT meaning to the plot. Like the plot will still be the same either the ML is grave digger or postman...LoL

Entertainment, fashion, and art are definitely captivating industries in dramas!
