I can't even begin to tell you how CRUSHED I man at what happened... Just can't.

I mean, we can't have nice things ever again.

The remarkable has happened. Takerufuji injured his foot on Day 14 and was taken to the dressing room on a wheelchair. Still not clear as to the exact diagnosis (an Achilles tear?!!) but the dude made it back for Senshuraku...

The additional drama will enhance the legend. We were there: We actually saw history.

Good piece on the newly christened Kotozakura in the Japan Times. I do remember his grandfather as a journeyman Ozeki who suddenly received a thunderbolt from the gods and rose to Yokozuna. I truly hope the seemingly obligatory act of adopting the namesake does not become a jinx or burden.

The Natsu basho begins this weekend!

IN: Terunofuji!

OUT: Asanoyama, Takerufuji ?

New Sekiwake Onosato is almost certainly the face of the upcoming Nagoya Basho. The Joi-jin is in regular shaky shape: Yokozuna Terunofuji still has bum knees and elbows, Takakeisho is on the cusp of Ozeki demotion, and Sekiwake Kirishima needs ten wins to regain the same rank. Onosato is the new, young star that Ozumo needs.
