I respect your opinion, each person is different and has their own perspective. I couldn't see that. I loved it, and I love this drama. I think this drama was a gift to Liu Xue Yi. And he was definitely noticed here (if it weren't now, we wouldn't have the chance ever again). I liked him with both actresses. He had chemistry with the main character's first and second actress. (Both on screen and off screen). And it's no wonder (that Liu Xue Yi) at the closing ceremony of filming this drama, he was so undisguisedly happy. I felt everything was perfect. It's my feeling. And it's like a gift that I can always come back to and appreciate. All. the songs, the interactions, the detective cases. The double ending. I loved. And if others don't love it, that's okay, it's part of the game. But...I thought this drama knew how to value Liu Xue Yi's presence in it masterfully.❤️❤️❤️🎞️🎞️🎞️

The ending has a closure (in one sense) and an openness (in another sense). So I wasn't dissatisfied. I think this drama is a golden gem (Liu Xue Yi is so wonderful). I loved the romance, the widower in love, the mysterious family cases, love affairs, betrayal, etc. I love the music in the drama. I loved the hero's interaction with the two heroines. I loved him doing martial arts. In short: I loved everything.😊🎞️❤️

I'm on episode 16 and SO close to dropping this one... 😭 I love LXY (and have nothing against JJY), but can't get over my original impression that she is just wrong for this role. I find her acting here bland and shallow compared to ML's steady intensity, and the storyline is dragginggg. I really want to stick it out, but I honestly don't know if I can do it. (Especially now that I know how the 2nd couple's story ends. Ugh. WHY.)

(What happens in episode 16? I don't remember. And I'm going to watch the drama again.)
I hope you didn't abandon the drama just because of your impression of Ju Jing Yi. This drama is wonderful (and it's not because of the second couple), it's because of the first couple, really. They fit together so perfectly. (Even behind the scenes, the understanding between them is tacit, gentle, warm, funny, tender, etc.). I'm amazed at how we audiences (have such different impressions). Maybe, some of those who watch this drama, (are reluctant to do so), because of their impression of the first heroine (being so talented) and she appeared first in the story (so, in some people's subconscious), it's as if Ju Jing Yi is usurping the role of the other character. If the story weren't about face swapping (and it was just Ju Jing Yi), the rejection of some people would be avoided (they wouldn't be complaining all the time about Ju Jing Yi's lipstick and makeup). They wouldn't say that her interpretation is so wrong. She may not be the most talented actress in the world. But here (in my opinion, of course), she did a good job. She is charming, loving, intelligent, sensitive, she is Pan Yue's helper, she shows that she depends on him (but at the same time she shows strength and independence). He shows that he depends on her, but he is a strong, gallant and protective man.
Look: I thought this drama was wonderful. Yes, I love the actor Liu Xue Yi (but the drama helped me like the drama in which Liu Xue Yi is acting). Everything was perfect: the martial arts, the moment when he goes blind, their moment of love, her helping him in his blindness, her helping him when he was fighting. She is that little woman who seems useless (but she is very useful), strong-willed and courageous. I liked the ending (because it is simpler and with meaning in small details).
I understand, different tastes, that is acceptable, it has to be that way. And in these different tastes (we start to analyze the drama's story from other angles), I'm just here expressing what I feel. (I don't understand why some people are so reluctant). But that's okay: This is normal for every drama. Different impressions, different opinions. Experience each drama from your own perspective and perception. That's okay!!!
