Hi as you can tell from the title I just got my account

I'm a big fan of detective drama which is why i'm here I've seen drama's like

Life on Mars (SK)

Tunnel

Voice

Black

Detective L

And others

I’m new too!  Still trying to figure out how things work.  : )  I watch a little bit of everything but am a sucker for romance.  Of your list I’ve seen Black.  I’ll have to check the others out.

I'd recommend you check out life on mars first

Welcome to MDL (:

If you like crime drama, you might consider watching these:

Day and Night

Burning Ice

Original Sin

Medical Examiner dr Qin

When a Snail falls in Love

Stranger

Thanks there's also a certain kind of crime I like. I like Historical crime such as

Life on Mars

Detective L

Tunnel

And for non asian shows

Ripper street

Alienist

L.A Noire (Not a show but still)

Father Brown

And my Favorite Murdoch Mysteries

You know of any historical crime. Not to far in the past though (I know there are a lot of C-Drama's set in the 1600s) Maybe from 1888 and up?

It's not a crime show and they are not solving crimes, it's more about tomb robbing and conspiracy. Republican era.

There's some crime-solving, but there's also a lot of mystical and creepy stuff. Republican era.

Cops trying to catch criminals in 90's Moscow. Haven't finished watching it yet, but the episodes I watched were good. Unlike many shows, this one was shot in Russia (and not in Shanghai or something) and has foreign (Russian) actors and not Chinese pretending to be Russian and speaking with broken accent.

Disclaimer! I DO NOT recommend this show, I found it rather boring but it fits your requirements. Watch at your own risk. 1920's Hong Kong

I don't recall any more shows for now, if you want to browse MDL on your own, China 1800's and early 1900's should be tagged 'Qing Dynasty' (but there are also shows from 1600's so before picking a show to watch check what year it's set in), and 'Republican Era' starting date is 1911 (Xinhai Revolution).

Thanks i'll check them out. However I do seem to have trouble finding Hong Kong tv shows subtitled. I can always find them subtitled in Cantonese but not Englisih

right off the bat,  I leap to recommending this JDrama (older but worth finding):

1 million stars falling from the sky

The detective role was amazing in this.
