Hello

I've just finished watching the Asadora- Manpuku.   I did it by watching a week of episodes each day. I now want to watch some similar, but 'shorter', JDramas before watching another Asadora.

I am looking for more JDramas which focus on characters and family relationships and/or people working together on a project, building something, towards a goal etc.  Slife of life recs would be good.

Dramas which have a similar feel/ tone to Asadoras but don't require as long a time commitment.

Thanks in advance

  • Pan to Soup to Neko Biyori (a short slice of life about a woman who leaves her publishing job to open a sandwich shop after her mother died; very chill)
  • Nagatan to Aoto (a couple in an arranged marriage trying to keep the family's restaurant afloat and make their marriage work)
  • Hitotsubashi Kiriko no Hanzai Nikki (an elderly lady seeks to do a crime, finds friends in the process)
  • Mei no Mei (an unsociable uncle and his niece take a vacation together to the countryside after she loses her parents)
  • Natsuko no Sake (it's an old drama, so I don't know how open you are about checking it out, but it's about a young woman who seeks to take over her family's sake brewery business--it's been a while since I watched this, but I think this might be the one closest to an asadora, in terms of vibe and subject matter)
  • Daisuki!! (family relationships, slice of life)
  • Kiseki no Hito (family relationships and a goal: residents of a boarding house all working together to help/teach a disabled child)

Thank you for this and for taking the time to type out a short description.

There are some lovely suggestions here including shows that I hadn't heard of before.   And they also have a short episode count!  And I don't mind what age the dramas are- I'm open to watching recent stuff as well as ones from 20, 30 years ago.

Now, I'm going to go and find the subs.

Thank you.  I previously watched Kiseki no Hito and thank you for the other suggestion.
