i am new to japanese music where should i start from ?

i watch anime for a long time so i know some jrock bands like orange range bz and some others wherev should i start from ? what do i need to know like programs and such ?

i watch jdrama some times.

I'm tempted to recommend 70/80s seminal electronic pop band Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) because of their influence on Japanese popular music in general. (And because I'm currently obsessed with them and would love to drag another person into YMO hell/heaven.)

Joking aside, since you're already familiar with Japanese bands from anime, what about picking several songs that you like and run them on Soundcloud or Spotify or even YouTube? Like it or not, their algorithm are pretty good, and you can get good recommendations based on stuff that you're already interested in.

I would suggest buck tick,ikimono gakari,olivia lufkin,anna tsuchiya, one ok rock and scandal but I assume you know all of them since you've probably heard some of them from anime. =)

Maybe if you like some openings/endings ,do a little research? ^^

Try songs from RADWMIPS (Nandemonai) , Scandal, Ayaka Hirahara, Miwa, May J, One OK Rock (The Beginning = awesome) , Aqua Timez, and a whole lot more.

This may sound corny but groups (boy bands) like SMAP, Arashi at Kat-Tun has great songs as well.
