There is nothing to be alarmed. this is the main reason we are Addicted to K/drama because of this kind of character. I think in my opinion we dont like YD For we dont want to see the Ass in us hahahaha... I know for a fact I can relate to Him,I am more test the water and hit it. how far can Young Do to make Kim Tan fall out to his chair by using the girl he like..
i'm all caught up now and i gotta say i actually got annoyed at the end of las ep. when ***tan showed up. he has NO personality.i would much rather see her with young do. ****
cityhunter83 wrote: as much as i agree with your assment of our male leads goldenseal50, i have to ask, have you ever seen any other korean dramas? in a country where dragging a girl around like you're a cave man is seen as romatic Young Do and Tan are pretty par for the course. Tan reminds me alot of Joo Won in secret garden only Tan's still in highschool so he still does shit like tell he should date him if she wants to get along well at school and "pull her hair"

Not really. Dare I say times are changing? :) Recent shows like Mirae's Choice, Secret, Master's Sun, have portrayed a VERY different kind of heroine, one that perhaps doesn't allow herself to be dragged around by caveman. That's only this year of course, there are plenty of other shows. I've seen tons and I have to say I'm often apalled by their actions, no, I don't think I have witnessed a more domineering/abusive male lead and second lead very often.

Tan keeps threatening her like it's the most romantic thing ever. :) Like me or leave the house, stay in my room or I'll scream, don't answer the phone or I'll kiss you, oh wait, I just did that! It's like he is a 5 year old obsessing over a new toy.

It's no coincidence he is so similar to Joo Won, they were both written by the same writer and the woman has schizo ideas about romance. Actually I'd say Tan is even worse than JW because JW had a comic verve to him and I felt like he knew he was slightly crazy and that made him less creepy. Tan has nothing like that, he takes himself seriously and acts absurdly, becomes boring. Of course it doesn't help that LMH doesn't do subtle very well.

Maybe that's all the difference between him and YD, a better actor got a slightly better character which is enough for people to start rooting for the psycho. :)
When I'm reading negativ comments about this drama, I can't get rid of the tought that we are watching absolutly different series.
I know that Young Do is an violent ass and that Kim Tan is a lazy rich boy whose trying (and failing) to wake up and that both have Daddy/Mommy/Hyung issues. Both would lead her in an unhealthy relationship, so if I had to choose, I'd prefer the guy who's actually single. If I remember correctly, in Episode 1, Kim Tan was thrilled that his fiancée was coming to visit, he even had a picture of her is his bedroom. To see him change so quickly just because of one donzelle in distress makes him look so unreliable to me I'd rather see our main female lead with Young Do. Sure he's got issues and a temper, but I feel he's more reliable that Kim Tan. I mean, the main reason why he separated from his best friend was because of his hatred for lies and betrayal. To me that makes him more trustworthy than that guy who's been engaged for a year and and who's cheating on his fiancée the second a crying cute girl walks in his life. And, not knowing if there is a way to ever get away with his planned marriage with Rachel, what right does Kim Tan have to blackmail her into going out with him, to force her to kiss him and even to act jaleous and order her around about whose phonecall she can and can't answer ? No. I'm definitely rooting with Young Do. And I agree with Triskani : LMH doesn't do subtle well and his character is way too serious about everything while Kim Woo Bin is a better actor and his character is actually the one that reminds me of Joo Won in Secret Garden, because he is the one that's aware of his own crazyness and you can see that he mock himself sometimes. Or should I say that sometimes, you don't really know if the things that he says are directed to Eun Sang or to himself. That's one of the reason why I like that character ^^.
@Dori i totally agree. i mean i'm enjoying myself so far... i like all the fights and all the hair pulling. i love the high school drama i never had...^-^... another thing i don't get is that if these people really don't like the drama, why are they still watching it? if i don't like the drama i would watch one or two episodes then rant how much i hate it then just drop it... i don't waste my time watching it.

I feel the same thing when I read comments saying this is a great drama.

Just because we think the drama isn't good it doesn't mean that we hate it.

I don't hate it, it's still the worst out of all 6 dramas I'm following.

i dont hate it as well, but i dont love it. I think the acting is great however the plot is just abit too slow for me. This is also my least favorite among the ones i'm watching

Well said Paquito! Ditto for me!

I don't hate it either, there are even some stuff that I like, yeah, it's small stuff but hey better than nothing. Besides, I'd quit if I could, I don't think I'm really able to drop any LMH drama, he has dragged me through BOF, PP, CH, Faith and now Heirs. Shallow, I know, very shallow. :)
Heirs: Hmm I do watch it regularly. I don't hate it but don't totally love it either. I think its slow paced as of now and nothing super exciting coz the story itself z like that but at least I didn't feel a need to drop it :D I just hate the fact that its not available for my region on Viki and soooooo missing those awesome/hilarious timed comments :/ :/

Me too :)
I know some people are loving the Viki comments (and they are brilliant) but at times I find them offensive, crude and downright miscellaneous. I was watching ep2 or 3 of Heirs (can't remember which) but one commentator literally called Rachel Yoo "a stupid pathetic whore, get off my screen" (or something along those lines) which rightly so, was jumped on by the others watching. Seriously. No labelling people "whores" unless you see the evidence. It's nasty and ruins my enjoyment. I always switch the comments off now. It's like reading an unfiltered stream of insults, "EEEE...he's so hot! omo omo omo!" (which i don't mind...to a point) and the occasional gem which makes you laugh more than the drama itself. Does anyone else have a similiar experience with Viki????
