Tan reminds me alot of Joo Won in secret garden only Tan's still in highschool so he still does shit like tell he should date him if she wants to get along well at school and "pull her hair"
Not really. Dare I say times are changing? :) Recent shows like Mirae's Choice, Secret, Master's Sun, have portrayed a VERY different kind of heroine, one that perhaps doesn't allow herself to be dragged around by caveman. That's only this year of course, there are plenty of other shows. I've seen tons and I have to say I'm often apalled by their actions, no, I don't think I have witnessed a more domineering/abusive male lead and second lead very often.
Tan keeps threatening her like it's the most romantic thing ever. :) Like me or leave the house, stay in my room or I'll scream, don't answer the phone or I'll kiss you, oh wait, I just did that! It's like he is a 5 year old obsessing over a new toy.
It's no coincidence he is so similar to Joo Won, they were both written by the same writer and the woman has schizo ideas about romance. Actually I'd say Tan is even worse than JW because JW had a comic verve to him and I felt like he knew he was slightly crazy and that made him less creepy. Tan has nothing like that, he takes himself seriously and acts absurdly, becomes boring. Of course it doesn't help that LMH doesn't do subtle very well.
Maybe that's all the difference between him and YD, a better actor got a slightly better character which is enough for people to start rooting for the psycho. :)
