I'm having kind of a love-hate relationship with Heirs. There are times, specially a scene with Choi Young Do in it,where I hate it, and there are other times, like the ending of episode 14 where I love it. I was really ready to drop this drama halfway through episode 14, but then everything changed for me! I think episode 14 was a huge breakthrough for all our main characters! Cha Eun Sang finally starts trusting Tan and is able to communicate her feelings clearly for the first time in the drama, Kim Tan also starts trusting Eun Sang and protects her by supporting her, not by controlling her, Choi Young Do finally got rid of his permanent smirk and we see him actually grow a lot this episode. He accepts that he regrets his fight with Tan, that it was his fault but he can't accept it. We also see him realizing how Tan is right, how he never has taken any chances. We also see if not his feelings,at least his attitud towards Cha Eun Sang. He starts letting go of her, and I actually love their friendly relationship. I can honestly say that this episode was the first time that Young Do swept me off my feet, almost making me choose him over Tan. and Rachel (Ra Hel, whatever), weeeell, I'd almost say she's a lost cause, she's mean and evil spirited, she wants to make Eun Sang suffer and she's obsessed with Tan, BUT she now accepts that is her own fault, that Tan never did anything to lead her on.
Another thing that I really loved about the latter half of this episode (everything happened there, seriously, the first 30 minutes had me fuming) is that we also see a progress with Tan and Won's relationship, how Won is slowly starting to accept Tan, even while in a war with their father.
Other relationship that I would like to see more of is the one of Eun Sang with Tan's mom. I just find them so funny together, and they actually have a really great chemistry as mother-daughter.
Overall, I think that after a lot of really mediocre episodes, where the characters made me want to rip my eyes out, Heirs has finally picked up for me. In this episode we saw character growth and Eun Sang and Tan behaving like a real couple for a change. I can't wait for next week, to see how everything goes.
