I’m looking for a drama (Korean) where one of the main or secondary male characters has the image of a cold, heartless bad boy in public, but in reality, he’s suffering physical abuse at home, father or guardian who beats him regularly. He acts tough and untouchable around others, but behind closed doors, he’s treated like a punching bag.
I’d love it even more if the story shows him standing up to his abuser for the sake of someone else - maybe protecting a friend or a girl he cares about - even if it means he gets hurt worse because of it. Something emotionally intense like that.
An example that comes to mind is the character from Angry Mom who lived with a criminal - something with that kind of heartbreaking duality.
