I have been seeing a lot of thirst edits of him on tiktok and I don't really get it but then I saw a tweet calling him draco coded and I was like waaiitttt so is it like people being attracted to the potential of him being a morally grey character? Or is it that he is just that good of a villain, that people respect and admire him for it alone?

I just wanted to start a discussion on what people think about Hanul's character because I hate his power tripping a*s, but then I see edits of him and feel like I am missing something.

Also then this leads to me self-reflecting on how I am always on the 'good guy's side, why am I so quick to be against the 'bad guy' but how are people more nuanced when it comes to this?

Yeah I'm actually attracted to the potential of him being a morally grey character but also bcuz I didn't watch him in any other dramas other ppl who did might like him cuz of his acting skills as a villain

Honestly, I'm down for morally grey characters especially if they're played by conventionally attractive people.  I don't really like Pi Han Ul for two reasons: no personality and no background. How do you like a character who's only mentioned as a figurehead. I'm quick to falling for morally grey characters and even evil characters such as Ma Minhwan, Kim Sun Cheol and even Chae Seon Ho.

Ma Minhwan was purely because of his freaky cute style. How could a person be cute but crazy at the same time? Classic style of antagonist sidekick 2.  He's always next to Pi Han Ul in certain scenes like a psycho bound by chains. He's a mad dog who goes crazy at the thought of blood. Actual weirdo but his face makes people drawn to him. No one would associate with him irl but damn he makes the story more engaging...in one way or another.

Kim Sun Cheol is the scum who was suddenly given a backstory to whitewash himself. Not a bad thing tbh. This is a classic bad men turned saint troupe. Suddenly he isn't so hateful for being the guard dog of Pi Han Ul. He's basically the guy who was handed bad cards in life. I liked him at first sight. His hair and rough styled face make him extremely teddy bear-like. This is the guy we would associate with in kdramas and build a relationship with. We would be in trouble and used as a leverage whenever the gang comes to mess with him, possibly end up in the worst scenario ever however his devotion and love truly moves you. (Those with no fear, move forward!)

Chae Seon Ho appears on episode 6 & 7. The guy with the cross near his eyes and the kiss lip mark on his lower cheek. Alright, this guy looks like pure evil. However, he's played by Kang Yoon, very sexy guy and dare I say, god-send? His abs are to live for (Yep because living is harder than dying in my opinion) and goodness, when it was shown, I basically dropped down on my knees. He's so majestic while playing such a scum, truly aura defined. The way he smiled with blood dripping down like a vengeful spirit!!!! His abs were so well-defined and full of war badges (or crime) and his hair lengthhhh!! We were robbed of a man-bun!

Ahem, sorry for the shpeal but these three are obviously the top three most desirable wicked men. Right now, Pi Han Ul hasn't impressed me much aside from the actor who plays him. Actor looks conventionally attractive but the only time he really caught my attention was when he was punched by Yun Ga Min in the auditorium. His face cracked a bit and showed a bit of arrogance/craziness. I thought things would change but...what can you do when all men do is lie about changing? Let us hope the next two episode shows his personality more and definitely give him more character build.

But yeah...I also don't see the appeal because I'm simping to other more attractive wicked mennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnNNNnnNnNnnNNNNNN.
