douban and baike can be used as additional sources when movies/shows got already released/ are in post-production (the shooting started & ended) / or we've watched them and everyone already knows who's there but we just use it as kind of "reference" source
official sources for Chinese NEW/FUTURE productions are:
1) official show/drama weibo
ususally each Chinese new drama/movie/show for which production starts has it own weibo page opened
2) official actor's/actors' weibo(s)
usually actors who start filming confirm the info on their pages
or the info is confirmed by their agencies (can be found too)
3) a booting ceremony for a drama/movie covered by medias
this is very helpful to confirm sth is real or not, because this is the tradition/custom for the Chinese to have those opening ceremonies for most of shows
- then Chinese articles released by the press (usually with photos from the ceremony) can be used as a legit source
for example: https://mydramalist.com/26895-ren-bu-biao-han-wang-shao-nian
was added this way last December, I could see that somebody on MDL used a random picture from an article as a cover, not all info verified at that time but I didn't object because the info about drama was true
4) the official medias pages like YOUKU, Tencent, television channels
on their official pages the media usually announce dramas which are about to air in coming months
5) official Youtube channels of Chinese television
good for shows which are new, still in production but already airing, with no much info in advance
