im so confused on who they are trying to make the second couple and i cant belive im more invested in them lmao
lol there are couple interviews of the cast on yt. they always pair Shin Minah up with Kim Young-dae and Han Ji-hyun with Bok Gyu-hyun
so our main couple + the writer girl and CEO.
plus writer girl and CEO are also the ones who the spin-off is about.

sure. I can recommend you any movie written by Koreeda Hirokazu (eg. "Nobody knows", "Like Father, Like Son", "Shoplifters", "Monster"), The Village and Forgiven Children.

hm no actually Japanese movies are often really really amazing. Especially with these more arthouse/noir type of genres. So I wouldn't rule it out that they will do an amazing job.

For some reasons there seems to always be a lot of backlash for dramas that are daring and not following the typical "happy-go-lucky" route. Queen Woo is a political drama. It is not filled with cliche scenes, nor will it please the romantic-audience. It is definitely an odd one out of normal kdrama productions but it is so very very refreshing and needed.
Will it be forgotten the moment it finishes airing like other controversial productions (eg Somebody)? Probably. But honestly there is also a group that truly enjoys the drama and that considers it a well done production.

agreed. also serious roles/dramas. I miss the serious dramas a lot. The "happy-go-lucky" filled with rom-com moments are nice ever so often but not constantly. This drama is truly a nice change.

I realized what I like so much about this series. It feels like a Skandi-noir. Straight up story telling. The…
yeah the drama gets better and better the more episodes pass. Kinda think Skandi noir (eg Chestnut Man or Bron) is a tad bit more dark and gruesome but I definitely get the connection. I'd actually recommend you to check out Mouse, Beyond Evil and King of Pigs. Those are also fulfilling your criteria as well but are a tad bit more going into the Skandi direction.

I'm sooooo super curious how that will work out! Like admiring someone for their work and then being confronted with them being in a relationship with someone you care for a lot? That can be quite different. Also it will be interesting to see how the CEO goes from disapproving of all females to falling for the sister of his subordinate.
So defo an interesting storyline!

the thing is that the 2nd ml is not the secretary but the boss and Yeo's character will falls for the boss, not the secretary. So there is a twist coming up where they will be confronted with each other. Maybe it is gonna be an enemy to lovers thing or something else. But it is not the secretary that will be the love interest for her ;)

So, ji chang wook will die in this drama?
yeah but he is present as flashbacks in all 4 episodes that are out for now. And honestly? I think this is his best acting he's ever done so far. Truly, I did not recognise him at all. Absolutely amazing job done.

JCW just passes by in this drama, even his interactions with his wife are made cold and stiff. He's just bait…
lol I actually found his character absolutely amazing in this one! And the acting was also very good! The first time in a long long time since Im truly enjoying JCW again.
Also the actress playing the queen is amazing. She really outdid herself here.
It is a different drama and not the happy go lucky historic one that we normally see, so maybe that explains why you feel so differently with it. Maybe that is why it feels for you more offish.
But I am absolutely enjoying it. Like truly actors are amazing in it.

Watched Ep 1. There was alittle bit of nude here, wasn't expecting to see boobs as there isn't any tag. Not that…
there are some scenes of that but honestly its not extreme so definitely doable if you are more sensitive with that. :)

Really really good drama! It is more realistically done than most historic korean dramas, it actually reminded me a bit of Shogun.
looking very much forward to seeing the other 4 episodes
This is really well done!

quite interesting and unique stories. Each episode is an individual 30 min movie, revolving around a tarot card. Apart from one episode, I found them all very interesting.

This is a new favorite for me so far even though it's only 2 episodes. I am laughing so much like I hadn't in…
agreed! I've seen most of Shin Min Ah's dramas and. I can recommend you all of them so defo check out some of her other works. She is amazing!
And yessss I adored the twins in Penthouse. Really enjoy watching them again act together in a drama. Their "behind the scene" interviews show how comfortable these 2 are with each other. Hope to see them in another drama after this again :)

really interesting thriller. It does have an artistic vibe to it, kinda reminds me of the arthouse dramas. Acting wise it was top notch! Especially Go Min Si outdid herself!
The drama itself could have maybe had 1 episode less after episode 2, there was some repetitiveness to it that stretched this a little too much. But from episode 5 onwards it was quite fast.
Overall a 9/10 for me

Na Gyeom .....somehow feels like she may have something to do with the case? I dont know...in episode 1 and 2 I thought ohh she is probably the love interest. But episode 3 and 4 give me now the feeling as if her role is far more complex.
