I'm a Kdrama fan for > 10 years, though not watching everything anytime. To be honest, I just want to watch one sometimes to relax myself and thus I prefer something light but exciting. I just started this drama without any expectation as I couldn't find any interesting from the new released lists,. I don't know much about the actors, never read the review or watched the trailer. It was also my first time to watch some actors involved, for example the actress who acted as mo hyun and her ex-husband. After so many trials starting a Kdrama and then just dropped it at the middle episodes lately (fyi..I don't even finished 'descendant of the sun' yet since started it about two years ago), this is the first Kdrama that got me hooked again from the very fist to the last episode.
I actually hate this kind of Kdrama typical plot the most, where the main role obsessed with revenge and everyone in the family desperately 'kills' each other for throne and wealth. While watching this, I believe all of the family members have personality disorder and even some are psycho. But I'm still surprised I wasn't depressed when I finished it in only 3 days. Then I realised that the actors acting qualities can move the viewers' emotions to any direction. I must agree to people saying Jang hyuk is a charismatic actor, because his less facial expression can give tension and chill the viewers out the same time. The background music and sounds were also fine. Very well done and worth to watch.
