A quality movie with a message

I wanted to binge something light, so chose this as a dose of laughter.

Before reading the synopsis I was thinking that humans are trapped and animals were visiting the zoo to see them.
Humans dressed up as animals was a quirky story. There wasn't a dull moment, I kept laughing all the way. the actors tried their best to portray the animals. lion looked as if posing for the photo. polar bear drinking cola was funny.

well synopsis is very well written, it gives you half of the story. And the other half IMO is a message to all humans to not do mean stuff against animals. Do animals really wanna stay at the zoo and be an entertainment piece? Yeah, they cannot think but when they get love and care they stay with humans. Please respect animals.
thinking beyond the movie humans were too mean and threw stuff at animals. The kids throwing colas for the bear 2 drink why show bad advertisements 2 make people believe unreal stuff? this was just a movie but in real-world many animals are abused every day. If you can't help them, don't abuse them.

The Polar Bear clearly was unhappy in that cage but due to the girl selfishness, she held onto him but when she realized to let go she saw that the bear remembered her.
Also, the corporate people who try to destroy the green habitat and create concrete jungles are the worst. In the name of development, they have grown blind and keep on destroying the environment.

My fav animal was the lion in that sitting position was just marvelous. i enjoyed the movie.

I am mouse hearted while watching a horror movie, but honestly, I was not scared to the point I was expecting. I was triggered for gross makeup thats it. All the stories are connected with the narrators story but didn’t make an impact on the narrator story too. Maybe his boldness reduces the scary meter.

The setting Gwanglim Mansion was nice. The building was the same so there was no difference in the direction of each story. Had the same angles of the doors and corridors. The stories intersected with other stories in some scenes but show different perspectives of each story. also shows that all these happened at the same time.
It builds up an average eerie atmosphere but it lacks a finishing touch for most of the chapters. A couple of the chapters are interesting. Not particularly scary.
The actors performances are solid but we are seeing the story through Ji-Woo's perspective, who remains off-screen most of the time and is turn off. We just see strangers dying in the mansion in various ways which aint similar. Which have become stories told by the narrator.

Scary Meter

Room 504 (The writer) - Not scary 7/10

Room 907 ( The Pharmacist) - Very scary 9/10

Room 708 (The Salesman) - Mild 8/10

Room 604 (The Student) - Average 7.5/10

Room 1504 (The Caretaker) - Average 7.5/10

once a watch

Note: if one is going to spout nonsense after watching an incest story, they should probably watch something else.

I come from a conservative society where if we call an unknown person brother, he is a brother, its a respectful term. But I have also seen cousin marriages, so I thought to try this movie. Japanese incest-based stories are emotional and delicate, not hurting anyone's sentiments. After finishing the movie, I didn’t feel guilty too, it was a CLEAN MOVIE, about two teenagers who had a complicated relationship. It doesn't storm the emotional guilt but gains pity for the leads.

The story is twisted to create curiosity but the ending is satisfactory.
Lastly, the portrayal of complicated emotions in the last few scenes could have been a lot better. That is a crucial scene but neither old nor young actors did great.

The songs were pretty nice. The lyrics were fine complimenting the mood of the scenes.

Entertaining

LIKED

- It is based on a true story but the events were dramatized nicely
- The lead actors performances are decent
- The screenplay is fast-paced, and gripping until the end. The mixture of betrayals and partnership was thrilling.
- The action sequences have been shot and executed quite well.
- The film's end is quite an unexpected turn.

DISLIKED
- most of the action sequence happens during the night, which gives crime a dark thriller, but the fight in dark is not my type.
.
REWATCH: Low, cause am not a fan of action crime

The Gangster, the Cop, and the Devil is an entertaining and decently made crime action film that is worth and learn to be safe and alert at all times.

Nice but once a watch

I have watched a few movies with the same concept, finding an old letter and trying to search for its recipient or sender, eventually uncovering something extraordinary about them. And the people who search get motivated by how they truly old generation loved.

I do like the concept of the movie, but the editing of the movie just ruins everything. While Jin-tian is talking to Ze-Yang the scene jumps to old times, but everything looked the same whether past or present so I got confused. The old couple story jumps in between without any screen cut or context, they don’t even mention the year. The back and forth between past and present is like spilled coffee all over the place
I felt that the old couple's story had more impact cause they had a more emotional connection.
Present-day JinTian and ZeYang's story was bland and forced with so many emotional traumas as if they were some sinners. if one of them could have acted maturely and adult it would have changed the impact of the movie. They had chemistry but their visuals are too nice that it covered their flawed acting, they could have done better.

The actors who played Lanxin and Joseph Novak were amazing, others were very mediocre honestly maybe because they are newbies.

The scene where Novak and JinTian see each other was very fine and chilling. The ending is satisfying though.

if you ever come across this please don’t skip it and just watch.

God has sent everyone in pairs, it is just that you haven't found your match yet and this story is exactly that. Two visually challenged people meet at a photography club, fighting their own demons. They both are sensitive to receiving help from others.
Being an observer I can say they might feel a bit defensive as to many people are not helpful when in need. Also, those helping out might be dangerous too. But there are good people too who genuinely help people. but don't judge others who don't want to receive help, respect them. we don't know what they have gone through.
we also see many other characters and how they speak up about their life positively. It brings joy to see that this world has hope in various ways.

Watching this 30min movie gives a calm relaxing feeling just like watching a sunset on the beach. It also motivates me to help others who are deprived in some way. God has given me a healthy body and I should be grateful to for it.

Han Ji Min acted with her eyes and its brilliant.
Park Hyung Sik is excellent too spreading his charms.

What sabotages friendship? Fear of society and family put too much pressure on young minds that you should be friends with ones who are at your level. Kids have been taught all human beings are equal but the next day when they play with a poor kid, parents would get anxious and angry.
Kids are fragile brains, they do things to fit in with popular kids, but the wrong things like abusing, stealing, or lying. It may seem petty but the adult world term these as crimes. It is a society that shapes the kids personality and brains.

The movie shows two girls who intentionally or unintentionally hurt each other with their lies. The movie ends with an idea of what goes around comes around. what we give t others comes back to us.

Watch this interview only after finishing S2

This special edition got two episodes.

1st Ep- Hidden Room (was telecasted before the premiere of S2.)
This ep connects s1 and s2. Also the hosts give out some amazing theories regarding the story of The Penthouse and I was stunned to know them. They got the HEPA code which decodes the names of the characters while telling all the mythological tales connected to the name. They also talk about the ORIGINAL SIN which is greed, which leads to some repeating ORIGINAL SCENE as punishment following CONTRAPASSO.
They also showed who is the worst villain, who committed a grave sin, favorite couple, according to a public survey done by the channel.

2nd Ep
This was telecasted after the completion of S2 so there are a lot of major spoilers. The host and the actors discussed some major scenes in detail and their filming so it is a BIG NO again to watch this drama after you finished watching S2. The host did an award ceremony for the cast which turned out funny for the actors enthusiastic performance.
The kids of THE PENHOUSE were there but had a very little appearance. They send some cute video messages.

watch this interview only after you have watched all 3 seasons of Penthouse

●I watched Penthouse when it finished and damn it was HeadBanging. But I found this interview now and am glad I found it now. My illusion of seeing them as bad characters would break cause all the actors are friendly among themselves so it would be a bummer if I watched this while watching Penthouse. All the actors are really different from the characters they portrayed. So I would suggest watching this if you have already watched the 3 seasons.
If you haven't watched this interview might ruin the tension, anxiety, and pain you have toward the drama.

●The Interview was all about discussing characters, and popular scenes in a fun way and the hardship they faced up during shooting. Its also revealed how they were curious about what was going to happen in the next episode. I was a bit sad that the Youngsters were not involved in the interview as much as the adults, so maybe the next season's Interview.

●Felt like adding this from the discussion cause the way it makes sense.
Why Penthouse was a massive success?
Park Eun Seok - cause Not everyone just toiled hard but also because everyone was a great lead role and also an amazing supporting character. I think thats what brought the drama great success. It felt like the main character changed with every episode and they all have a solid storyline. They were all main characters and sub-character. There were no plot holes.

Situational humor at its best.

I watched this for Lee Yi Kyung, cause him doing comedy can never go wrong but the show stealer is Kwak Dong Hyun by the end. He got the ending portion you couldn’t expect.

NK and SK fights are world known but for this lottery ticket, few of the military personnel of both countries join hands. They fight, agree, and disagree by finally making an alliance to be fair and the journey of frustration happens. There are some hilarious moments, which hurt my jaw from laughing. There is never a dull moment.

Go Kyung Pyo was silently hilarious but his farming skills were extraordinary. all the supporting characters are good too.
NK female soldier was so sweet and beautiful. Kwak Dong Hyun is winner.

Must watch for a stressful day.

drama is more comedy than romance.

●The drama never has a dull moment! every scene turns comic at any moment. its funny, easy-breezy, and does not take itself too seriously. The comedy is situational and sensible but propels illogical and nonsensical themes with the character of Baek Ma Tan. while it produces many Laugh Out Loud moments throughout the entirety of its runtime. Each episode has its own theme story with a different character but also takes the main storyline of the leads with it.

●The chemistry between the entire cast is wholesome. I think everyone worked extremely well. Gun Kang Mi, Baek Ma Tan, Aziz, Choi Na Rae, Lee Sang Sik, Hye Yeong, every character is brilliant. Have enough screen time for everyone not cutting out anyone. Also gave enough screen time to Aziz who is a roommate, honestly, he nailed his role.

●NOW I will be biased and say Baek Ma Tan played by Bae Hyun Sung is just wow. He is a chaebol just recruited into GAUS ELECTRONICS. While I have seen many chaebol playing poor but Baek ma Tan is etched in my brain. You will love him, no lies.

●Recommendation? If you're in dire need of some laughter I highly recommend Gau Electronics because laughter really is the best medicine. You will forget whatever was troubling you for at least an hour. This drama has made me laugh no end, great for those who love romcom although for me it is more comedy.

●Rewatch? 100 percent yes

typical Japanese folktale ghost stories.

We all must have heard of told ghost stories during those sleepover nights with friends. This movie exactly fits into those ghost stories, inspired by Japanese folktales written nicely with a time loop. RE/MEMBER is the authentic, spine-chilling tale of Asuka's escape from a fatal time loop is well presented, exceptionally gory, with a heartwarming blooming friendship.

The movie was amazing for the first half when we had the red ghost chasing the students. But it got funny students are killed in a gory way but its just long shots and not scary with somber music. Apparently, students were more chill and enjoying their new friendship rather than scared to die a horrible bloody death. None of them was hysterical, if I would be there I would shout and scream a few times before going calm and thinking straight. Those guys should be applauded for not being traumatised for facing brutal deaths.

Lastly the ending credit scene theory
The missing child photo changes to Asuka, who is actually the female lead and survives until the last most of the nights. And the story is written from her POV, she also peeps into the well where she hallucinates about seeing bloody hands. So I went over to the start and there were Russian news articles of many missing children along with a body search summation. While people who participated did interviews or whatever they somehow went missing.
And the credit said “And then they become a substitute for her, becoming her sacrifice. And then they disappeared without a trace.” so I think Asuka might be the next target.
Also, a newspaper photo is of child Asuka and once Asuka said she kind of missed a swimming meet and nobody talked to her when she returned back, that was in freshman year. So it would be like taking her back to a time when she was a kid to create another time loop.
But for now, she is alive and well, maybe got a boyfriend, not stressing my mind over that she died.

Also she may be dead, but her soul hasn't disappeared, so she lingers in the school and helps out her classmates to find her own dismembered body. When she becomes whole and free from the time loop she is being visible to others.

Keep you phone in bag and not hand.

It's centered around the aspect that mobiles have become way too essential in our lives than imagined. UNLOCKED, is a gripping and thought-provoking movie about being overly invested in smartphones these days. While this is not the first movie to undertake the subject, it did a good job of delivering a realistic wake-up call about the dangers of social media without any sugarcoating.
A woman loses her phone on a bus and her life gets worse as it gets hacked. The plot is simple yet engaging throughout. The plot is predictable cause we see through the eyes of the hacker, about his next movie. But the ending is satisfying, I thought it would be a lot worse but thankfully not.

I loved the movie's cinematography, the camera angles, the relationships between the characters, the depth of the storyline, to the suspenseful moments that made me feel emotions as if I was the one going through it.
This movie should be watched by everyone not just for the thrill of the movie but for most important awareness of how careful you should be with your phones. Not because someone will stalk you with the phone, but because scams and fraud could happen too.

And those of you who believed it is over-exaggeration or unreal, it may be dramatized but I have seen real cases. Better safe than searching for a cure
1. My phone got hacked and lost a few bucks.
2. A girl's laptop was hacked at my university and they could see her through her camera. She later told everyone to put up a sticky note over the camera if not in use.

once a watch

Most of the movies about killers/assassinators would be about the revenge of betrayal cause they lose something beloved. KILL BOK SON is different cause the rich have made killing into a business. Drama World can make anything into a high-profile business
and she is an ace worker who wants to quit and focus on parenting. But the company doesn't want to let her go. And the teenage daughter has her own story who eventually opens up and her insecurities, likes, and questions. It is nice to see the mother-daughter talking by the end.

It felt like watching a female replace John Wick, for its more action sequence and light family story. The many probabilities of the fight scene flowing in the head of Bok Son were nice but that created confusion in the end. She always thinks ahead which actually doesn't happen but it's represented in front of the camera so it feels real.

I don't like the minors kissing scene. was that necessary for to camera shoot, it could have been angled. maybe I am freaking out but yeah I am. This scene ruined my mood to rewatch it.

It is not boring but not excellent to make me want a rewatch it.

Not my type

I didn’t like this movie, I was bored but confused. But hold on am not biased to the story concept cause I have watched such things way more than you think not just movies but real life too. I am not sensitive to the topic but the storytelling is slow and tedious. It is like a documentary film with an unstable camera view and natural sounds. Nothing grasped my interest throughout the story, the characters, the kiss, the confusion, and more.

The camera angles went more unstable whenever the leads were close and showed half of the faces, if anyone thinks it's art then it is fine. Cause I don’t know anything about it but I wanted to see the subject properly.

The acting was average, not exemplary. It felt like seeing two people around the corner or the house trying to hide their feelings from themselves and the world.

I really liked the sounds. walking tone, water flows, rains, winds, cars.

If you want to watch, you can just 2x or cause there is nothing to skip. But there are more good movies, I won't recommend this movie Kissing Cousine.
