Someone asked, "Does a BL need to be so deep?"

Someone asked, "Does a bl need to be so deep?"

The director: yesss!!!

I didn't expect a bl to be this emotional and fun at the same time, and I have watched a handful of bl. This is even more heartbreaking than some heartbreaking K-drama, in a good way. Enough to say I fell in love with it even though I'm not a fan of melodrama.

At first, when I saw Tian in a gambling house I thought, for a second, is he gonna be a trash character sometimes you see in bl? But no, he's become my favorite. He's so affectionate and composed, yet spoiled and headstrong. He has potential and prolific ideas. And I just don't think it's because of Torfun's heart and also because he has experienced near death situation, I think he's originally pure hearted. He's not one of the very good looking lead you're looking for but I fell for him more and more as the series gets deeper. I think he's one of my very few favorite bl leads of all time.

One of the best is soundtracks, and I'm not even soundtrack fanatic. The production overall is well done. I could say it's a perfection not just as a bl, anyone could enjoy it as a mini series.

I'd awaited for it so long and I can say this *it's so worth it* ♡

Watch it if you wanna get frustrated over stupid little plot holes!

Let me just say this first: this review contains SPOILERS!

If there's one good thing about this movie, it's the acting. As a fan of Sol Kyung Gu, I can say you'd never get tired of his acting. Although this is obviously not the best performance of him, it's still great. I also like how the actor played the role as his son. The father and son did nice jobs, but the rest is so so.

Now let's talk about the story, it's nothing new about a story of a kid being bullied violently. However, it doesn't mean you can't create a masterpiece or a superb piece without originality. And looking at the cast, it's obviously not a low budgeted film. Yet, I'm disappointed about stupidity of the director and writers.

The first one is about the teacher. I mean, no matter how she is new to the job or whatsoever, it isn't like she came from Joseon dynasty. She has like a whole day or more to take a picture of the kid's note as a proof, especially if it's involved about school's violence and definitely if a superior person demands to hold it despite that the letter being addressed to her.

Another one is Sol Kyung Gu's character recently check his son's group chat. And I mean all the evidence including the videos are still in the chat log. But let's just say he deleted it, I think he should've at least try to retrieve it or something. And then, there's this drone. If I were him, someone whose son is wrongly accused of, I'd check anything and everything which of course includes the drone. It doesn't even seem to me that the son hide it and also didn't throw away the chip (which is also a bit ridiculous because it seems like he's still holding onto it till after everything). And on top of that, the father being a known lawyer and being careless like that doesn't help at all.

There are also other minor plot holes that I forget to mention. But aside from that, I also don't like how the movie ends in a bit of rush. It feels like they end it like that because they gotta end it this way.

Honestly, it's a rather boring movie with expected twists and plot holes throughout the movie. In fact, it didn't thrill me at all. And what's more disappointing to me is it's such a waste of great cast for such child play -_-

Organic relationship amidst dramatic past!

Firstly, I want to say that I scarcely write reviews here. And I want to put my review here because this series kinda surprised me. I literally didn't expect it to be this good because there are many drama series that I got recommended a lot with promotional videos etcetera on YouTube and other platforms. But most of them turn out to be 'not worth the hype'. On the contrary, I just started watching this series just because I wanted to cross it off my watchlist. Honestly, my expectations were pretty low. But, I got hooked after a few episodes.

Now, let's talk about the two main characters first. This couple has a HEALTHY relationship despite the fact that they started off as FWB. No one here clings to their exes or having no consideration to their partners regardless of their statuses: just BED FRIENDs. It's so obvious that they respect each other. I gotta say that I guessed at least one of the two (at least and most the times, it's both) will mess up their agreement and hurt each other. For an example, King the playboy starting to sleep with other people or maybe forcing on Uea. Or Uea getting back with the a**hole bf or starting to go out or agreeing other people to make King jealous or something. I don't know how old they are in the series but I'm guessing they may be in their early twenties. And I swear most of the guys in bl act like big kids. I mean, it's not rare to see a nearly thirty years old bachelor getting flustered and indecisive in bl stories. Both King and Uea are quite mature for their age. King comes from an almost perfect (rich and not abusive parents) family, so I get it. But with someone like Uea who had encountered series of traumatic experiences and horrible parents, it's surprising that he became such an admirable and ethical human being. The best thing I love about him is how he's so serious in everything. At the start of the series, I thought he'd become an annoying uke and thought I'd like King more but he's so likeable that by any chance if I'm asked to choose I'll probably be team Uea. But really, I like both of them equally.

The story isn't perfect or anything amazing, but it's not a trashy plot at all. Somehow , I feel like it's real life events. And I know that some are complaining about the rated scenes but for me I think it's moderate. But yeah, I think it would be a PERFECT if the editing team didn't mess up too much. Still, I applaud not only the actors but also directors and creators for such entertaining series and making approaches like how mental health is important. I love the little scenes like King giving Uea prescribed meds, how he hired a detective to investigate about the stepfather and many more. Many of their interactions and scenes are done naturally. I'm not saying they'll be "happily ever after". Like all relationships, there will be bumps and they may even be separated one day at one point who knows but, for all I care, they both look pretty happy now and care for each other.

About the acting, this is the first project I've seen of the actors. So, I don't know how's their acting in their other works but here, they done great jobs. I'm a loyal bl fan but I'm one of those people who prefer QUALITY over QUANTITY. And it's a big no no if actors can't act no matter how they can be gorgeous. I would like to thank the casting team for not only having eyes for visuals but also picking people who can act. And I'm guessing people who are complaining about James' acting haven't seen a lot of bls. As an old loyal bl fan, I can vouch his acting is not even among the bad ones in y industry. Trust me on this, I've seen worst of worse 😑

Overall, I say it's a good watch. 10/10 for the chemistry. And I think this is one of the bls that you either enjoy too much or maybe just a little bit but you can't hate this. And finally, I like that it has just the right amount of length: not too long or short.

First review!

This is my first ever review on here. Please, bare with me. I'm only writing this because I'm really really enjoying the show and it deserves a heartfelt review, honestly.

When i saw the trailer, i was like 'meh' ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The first episode was okay.
During the second episode, it turns out unexpectedly FUNNY and CUTE. And it gets whole lot better.

The plot was nothing out of a big deal. But how the characters portray is what's worth watching. And the script don't suck at all. To my amaze, most of the actors are new faces.

There were a lot of BL series that i dropped due to many reasons. Tediousness is one among (i even wonder whether they make those series for advertisements), but i couldn't also bare when there's a or multiple unlikable characters. No one here is worth to skip, just can't get enough with each part. I can't even seem to choose a favorite couple.

If i must make a bad remark about this series, it's not from a famous broadcasting company.

I'd love to recommend this to any BL fan out there!
