This reason seems even much more unrealistic if you think in proper manner..

So what right does someone have to stop anyone from pursuing what would make him/her happy...he clearly mentioned enough time with enough reasons why he wants to give up being war demon and want to become ordinary human...he don't want to live his life without taste, colour, emotions less do he wants to be a blood thirsty being.. haven't you seen that how blood thirst attacks him on every ghost festival...in that scenario someday he himself would have ended up harming his loved ones...so what's wrong on giving up on such powers which comes with that many sacrifices??

Bro he worked cautiously...he knew that they won't kill her easily... moreover he explained the reason...do you expect him to lovesick fool who doesn't think anything and falls right into trap?? He clearly knew that he won't be able to defeat the whole section alone... instead of saving FL he will also become victim let alone Saving FL... it's better to become strong and make a comeback with strong hand and defeat them for once n all!!
