SML's character, behavior was unbearable. A balanced and truly masculine man would never have behaved like that.…
Many find it Green Flag behaviour?!
As a woman I assure you DEFINITELY NOT. 2ML Behaviour was Red flag to highest degree.
Noone is liking the 2ML here, you must'missed the ep6 backlash lol
Women really aren't going around wishing their male friend is liking them in secret lol. If anything, many would find 2ML too dishonest in keeping a friendship going with hopes of dating her. This is a NIGHTMARE SCENARIO, not a women's dream lol.
In fact, most women I know would consider the 2ML IRL soemone not a True Friend and wouldn't want to continue even the friendship after his behaviour here. Heewon not putting boundaries was unrealistic. Maybe you need to actually talk to women irl.
Korean entertainment already has a massive problem of keeping their actresses unhealthily skinny.
MDL really isn't helping though with the way they keep bringing up weight in all these articles.... This site is part of the problem.
Maybe start writing something about the toxicity of k ent weight standards, rather than go around bringing up and indirectly shaming specific actresses for their weight....
It was so refreshing to see such a nice mother law! She was so sweet!
Ironically she LOOKS like she'd be an evil nasty person somehow lol. Maybe it's the manner of the actress or character that she gives "Rich, shallow, super High Maintenance Drama Queen" vibes
If one has such high values and standards (and BTW I totally agree with those, and I've never had a one-night…
I think you misunderstanding completely what some of us meant.
Listen , NOONE watches freaking Kdramas especting actual Sex scenes lol. Hypersexual people will simply avoid ALL kdramas alltogether lol.
People simply wanted Normal level of couple intimacy shown, like OTHER kdramas HAVE SHOWN. Her Private Life? Healer? CHoi Jin Hyi's past kdrama Devilish Joy? Oh Yeon Seo's past kdrama Mad For Each Other? Dynamite Kiss in latter parts (ep2 bed kiss was really good but way too early for my taste...they were strabgers hooking up/about to .I'd rather this scen appred in last few eps not first twoπ€¦π»ββοΈ. It made their "feelings" look cheap. ) Even Choi Jin Hyuk's past kdrama Emergency Couple did a slight peck in bed in later eps (while fully dressed), which is fine, didn't avoid it completely like PY did.
This drama literary avoided at alltogtehr in ep9-10, after they began dating, and barely any in ep7-8. They were very Uncouply for a couple for a long time.
I'm actually on the asexual spectrum, don't like most of th excessive sexuality in western Tv, despite being fronm the western part of the world.
I'm Demisexual to be presise. Western TV has the problem of strangers hooking up out of the blue, something I don't care for at all as a demisexual person. I'm even repulsed by it. I dropped Game of Thrones because of the nonstop random sex in it. Scifi and Mystery with Romance subplots are the only Romance Tv series from the western world that I can stand. (Too busy solving crime, traveling space or surving an apocalypse to have random sex. Most romance focused on actual Couples forming slowburn and their intimacy within their relationship, not annoying outside relationship shallow hookups). Mostly Kdramas and Turkish tv series are much more Demisexual friendly than most western tv.
....But a freaking COMMITED COUPLE Should have SOME LEVEL of physical intimacy, wethther that is deep kiss, light kiss, pecks , full on make out or sweet and slow kiss, slow kiss or even just light peck in bed clothed or the man is shirtless and holding her(still not sexual, this is romantic) or cuddles in bed fully clothed (not sexual).....or the whole thing will look weirdly Sexist. You may not have realized it, but a Pregant woman epsceilly written as avoiding intimacy is very sexist and 1800s Puritan Man Control like. In this manner, PY was more sexist than Dynamite Kiss, though overall PY did a good job in showing equality, while DK was backwards alltogether....
On Py, They were Not even couply enough like MOST Romance kdramas Standards (I watched others alongside it and Suddenly it dawned on me how much romance they had in comparison to PY!) , Most of ep4-10 focued on side stories rather than romance.... PY Ep12 Level of Couplyness for them is the Normal level of physical intimacy expected for kdrama....why did they avoid it for ep 5-11..... Drama would've been better with ep12 level of couplyness for ep 5-12.....
As a Demisexual person I find it even SUPER OFFENSIVE that a Romantic Commited COUPLE in love was somehow less physical than STRANGERS JUST HAVING DRUNK MEANINGLESS S**X..
If anything..The ep1 ONS was the Dirty part. (Well for me who is on the Ace spec/demi anyway, other westerners may like it)...There's nothing Dirty about a Couple's intimacy.
Any physical intimacy as COUPLE isn't " Playing Around". or just "Having fun" like you imply.
IT'S EXPRESSING LOVE. Kiss is showing feelings. You make it sound like couples only kiss for LUST.
.....Maybe after a VERY LONG AND HARD DAY one retruns home crying and wants to be held and kissed by their partner as Comfort....Is this not Romance??; You somehow think it's lust?!?
You don't want to kiss Your partner?? Not even in private?!? .... You might be fully an Asexual Person without realizing....
About the korean culture creating intimacy avoidance...
You would've had a point if this was ramdom strangers going for it, but at one point Dojoon & Heewon became a very serious couple.
And the "too ashamed to be intimate due to started with ONS + HE's her Boss" This is all SOLVED in the webtoon by leads marrying in MIDWAY PART. They only did the intimacy once married. The drama could've done it in same way, but chose not to.
Ep12 was quite good, so I raised my final rating to 8.0/10.
Quite bad writing overall, though there were some good parts (mainly in how lead pairing was built up in realistic way, their interactions with their parents and personal growth and the healing/group theraphy scene etc.), very incompetent directing.... Ep12 should've been the plot for ep 8-12, what was that unnecessary dragging only to leave the good parts only for ep12 (and a little for ep11)..... (Also ep11 end hug was one of the cutest hugs I've ever seen in ANY Tv series from any country ever...If there's such a thing as "Super Adorable Sugary Hug Chemistry" these two have it in excess! π)
Basically the Adorable Lead Couple π hard carried the drama, despite very flawed writing and directing....
When making ANY choices a), b), c) or d).... Let's say option d) is the WORST POSSIBLE choice...
About EVERYTHING he literary makes the WORST POSSIBLE decisions!!!:
Pacing from hell V Let's ERASE the good parts of my story and focus on the most boring parts Check V The MOST INTERSTING PARTS, let's give those only 5% of screentime. Check. V Let me direct mature romance like the leads are teenager virgins...despite having had a one night stand in ep1. Check. V
Let me somehow bring out the WORST in all the Cast's acting ,by having them either underact or overact. Check V
Let me choose the most underwhelming camera angeles, cuts, blocking etc. check. V.
Let me cut away good kissing (seen in BTS) and make the actual scene boring. Check. V
Let me ERASE the ROMANCE from a Romcom (based in a Webtoon with Plenty Of Romance) and make it A Business & Family genre kdrama with only SLIGHT Romance.... Also let's avoid them kissing once they begin dating. (Despite webtoon having Plenty of mature intimacy, even kissing and cuddling in bed)Check V.
Whenever leads are having deep bonding moments or scenes....Let's avoid building any tension and have them stand far apart, only talk and not look particularly romantic. Check V.
Let's have unneccesary high amount of scenes for 2nd Male Lead character who everyone hates and fastforwads through.. Check. V
Let's forget the Premise of Baby + Marriage and have that part ONLY happen at last ep12! Check. V.
Let me make leads behave in childish way, despite both being in their 30s.... Check V
.....IT'S SUCH A BAD DIRECTOR, THAT I'M NOW TRAUMATIZED FROM HIS STUPIDITY!!! π€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈ
I had to make a "Positively Yours recovery/heal my heart List" with actually good directing and well-made romance lol. π Had go start several romance kdramas and Romance turkish Dizis just to GET OVER HOW NONSENSICAL THIS DIRECTOR IS!!!
ep1: Man 32 and 44 are ok...rest of them..meh ep2: man 30's voice sounds so simialr to Hyun Bin's Voice lol, it's distracting! 16 is great, dog lover with good personality and runs multiple businesses. But let's be honest, the women there just picked him because of his money lol, they didn't like him before his money came up lol. Man 19 The dermatologist deems stable and with a nice smile.
The sister in law actress over-acting in ep11 was cringe to watch. This director has a Massive problem where he makes most of the actors he directs either under act or over act....Where is the naturalness?!? π€¦π»ββοΈ
1 Hour into ep1: I see the marriage & dating market for women in korea is trash. 1-2 just ok guys so far, the rest of them are all red flags (thus why all the women rejected them/barely any votes, some even got 0 lol) . Some of these men got some votes by blind women who lack standards and just impressed by a silly dance number etc.π€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈ
1 guy needs women to be tall yet super skinny as the the Most Important Thing for mentioned lol. One demanded women take care of him like his mom lol. The other asked the fat woman to loose weight for him .... π€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈ (why pick her in the 1st place if bothered by her weight π€¦π»ββοΈ)
This is a depressing watch as a woman lol
If the korean men all like this, korea's birth rate will remain low lol
....I think korean women should just give up and marry foreigners (well except not the french guy here lol).π π
i thought of watching this drama, but it's below 7.3. why is it bad?no problem with spoilers.
It's a solid 7.5 or 8.0 /10 imo (depending on how these last 2 eps go), which would make it an Average Romcom.
The lead pairing is SUPER CUTE, they basically carry the drama, despite weak average writing and super bad directing.
The problem here is how the writing has focused too much on SIDE stories, love triangle, Sister-in-law less on the LEADS and their relationship; there was BARELY any Navigating the pregnancy, preparing to become parents, marriage, domestic life.....
Good points are in how their relationship was built up and trauma handled in realistic way and their scenes with rheir parents. That group theraphy session was a great scene too. .....But why such little focus and leads and romamce in ROAMNCE kdrama?!? Drama was Mostly just Family + Business genre, with only SLIGHT ROMANCE. Barely a proper romance drama...
Also how can they write and direct the leads so sloppily.....
...I'm saying it had real potential to be a 9-10/10 even, but after ep2 the writing really lowered it into average territory.
Is AVERAGE actually "BAD"?? NOT AT ALL.
However, I want GOOD, GREAT kdramas, not just average.
Especially since he way the leads where both written and directed in such odd stiff and childish manner, that hid their acting skill, clearly visible in their OTHER kdramas... It's hard to not get annoyed when they got criticism for "Bad acting", which was 99% poor script and directing.
Watch OYS Mad For Each Other with critically acclaimed script and see her shine and her super funny role in Come Back Mister. Or CJH's Devilish Joy or The Last Empress or Zombie Detective or Tunnel where he is allowed to be warm & charismatic and not written as an unemotional robot.... Then you'll maybe notice how the writing & ESPECIALLY THE DIRECTING is FAR superior in all those kdramas, whereas in this kdrama...their acting got surpressed oddly by Writer & Director....

They wrote it with the pacing of 16 ep, and and now will rush the ending π€¦π»ββοΈ
...The So Hae Won writer must be a veteran flop writer from the 2010s writing under a pen name to hide their flop history, because that is exactly how they wrote, unable to adapt to the new expectations audiences have these days...
True rookie writers don't write like this at all, and tend to be more bold, more creative and not fall into cliches....
They should'n't have forced the 2nd leads as pairing afterward....
