Finally Megan Lai in a big time drama as the female lead and I feel the need to watch anything Roys in…

Story: Started off funny, interesting and a bit like City Hall actually but quickly turned into a drama with an extremely slow plot and lack of direction. A lot of things happened towards the end that came out of nowhere and just didn’t make sense. There were just a lot of things the writers could have done to make it more interesting. It was way too predictable, slow and a good 7 eps too long. It at least had a good ending=)

Acting/Cast: Loved the leads together. Megan is one of the better Taiwanese actresses out there. Roy is usually a good actor but his character didn’t have a lot of development and his expressions were kind of stifled which may be the fault of the writers. I loved the entire supporting characters!!

Music: It was disappointing and although I didn’t like Office Girls that much it did have a better OST. The music in this one was really boring and made the drama feel slower and I just wish it was more upbeat.

Rewatch: I wouldn’t watch this again even though I loved the entire cast because it was just too slow!

Overall if you cant handle extremely slow plots id stay away but if you like Roy, Miss Rose is worth a once over.

I started this one a while back when I was on a Jang Hyuk drama spree. I only managed to watch about half the eps before I lost interest. I didn’t plan on dropping it though because I knew I wanted to finish it someday…

Story: One of the first romcoms to be labeled as such, it comes with all the laughs and romance one would expect. It did have a nice plot which was an added surprise. The story is mostly about how the main male character changes from a rich douchebag to a poor guy with a purpose. The first half of the drama is the developing romance and the downfall of the male lead. Then in the second half (after a time jump) it kind of turns into an office drama with the bad guys competing with the good guys. The ending was very cute.

Acting/Cast: Jang Hyuk was awesome but his character was crazy! Like he just goes nuts and starts randomly punching things around him or yelling out of nowehere quite often. He was quite interesting though. Jang Nara matched him very well chemistry wise and I loved her character because she was strong and could handle his wild temperament. The only thing I didn’t like about her character is her accent. It was just too much. As for Ryu Soo Young (My Princess, Ojakgyo Brothers) it was so weird seeing him play the villain. But he played a very good one. As for the rest of the cast I didn’t find their characters that important.

Music: Very old school but I guess it went well with this drama because it is very old!

Rewatch: I liked it so I would watch it sometime in the future.

Overall Successful Bright Girl is impressive for an older drama.

Story- Touching story of a brother who would do anything to save his sister. This includes marrying a girl for her liver. The romance is subtle but sweet. There is a bit of sadness in there. Everyone gets a happy ending though. I liked that this wasnt a romance where it was twisted and had a tragic ending.

Acting/Cast- The leads had great chemistry. Everyone acted in their roles well. I didn\''\''t like Aya in Attention Please but she proved me wrong in this drama. I liked that the male lead was so sweet and nice. The brother was a jerk throughout as the villian but he redeems himself in the end.

Music- Very nice score that went along with the mood of the drama.

Rewatch- Its one to rewatch but not right away.

Overall- This is a touching drama that the actors carry with thier wonderful acting.

This drama isn't as spectacular as I thought it was going to be. The episodes were only 36 min. but they felt longer just because the story was a little slow at times. I was disappointed, that although the leads were suppose to have this great romance, they only dated briefly before breaking up. Then they spent the rest of the drama a part. So it was kind of hard to feel for them and want them together in the end. I actually liked the stories of the supporting cast much more than the actual romance. The ending could have been done better as well. Still, this is just a great drama to watch when you've seen the better J romance dramas.

At first I thought this drama would be boring because of the theme but it turned out be interesting enough. This is one of those dramas that is more about teaching life lessons. I was more interested in the relationship with the main girl and the actor boy. I did like most of the cast. Overall it is a very good watch but I wanted more from the ending.

I have no idea why I started watching Ring Ring Bell because 1. I wasn't familiar with the cast, 2. The synopsis sounded lame, and 3. It's really hard for me to finish a Taiwanese drama without dropping. When I noticed that the first ep was subbed on Viki something in my mind told me just give the first episode a try, no harm done...

Story- The first episode was so original. I liked that we got to see a backstory of how fate will play a role in them meeting again, although for a bit they don't know what we know. This drama was heavy on the romance and the story is predictable but I just found it so fascinating. I love that the feelings the main couple had for each other never wavered. Now there was plenty conflict especially towards the end but it never got too angsty to the point of frustration. My only complaint about the story would be the arc about the tug of war team, it really could have been done without. The ending was happy=)

Acting/Cast-The leads really carried the show. Their acting especially by Janine was really really good. She had a lot of crying scenes and managed to make them very believable. Peter and her had such an AMAZING chemistry. Now a lot of the supporting characters I thought the drama could have did without, like Xiao Xiang’s friend she meets competing for a job and her tug of rope posse. They were so annoying and also Xiao Xiang’s family especially her mom(the overacting was really too much). Other than that I liked the supporting cast.

Music- I don't usually notice a Taiwanse OST unless its to the point where I can hum the melodies of the songs outside of watching the show. So I can say without a doubt, I really liked the OST and score because they were memorable.

Rewatch- I can see myself watching this once a year just because the drama is short and I loved the leads. I could never get bored with watching this.

Overall Ring Ring Bell might seem cliche and silly at times but it was such an enjoyable watch. This is my top Taiwanese drama even beating out Autumn's Concerto & Devil Beside you. That's saying something!

Kimchi Family was a gamble for me. I didn't find the synopsis for it all that exciting and I didn't even know who Song Il Gook was. I only started watching because Park Jin Hee was in it and I loved her in Giant and recognized her from the drama Still Marry Me...

Story- The first episode was just really interesting and the chemistry between the leads was so good. The possibility of a romance between them led me to want to continue watching and see what this drama was all about. As the drama unfolded I became more intrigued as there was a bit of mystery to some characters and how they were connected. . The romance was sweet and subtle as the plot was more about the main character finding out who he is and about his past. The synopsis doesn’t do this show justice, as yes its about the family ties that develop between the people who work and live at Earth and Man but its so much more. It’s heartwarming, engaging, and emotional. The ending is bittersweet.

Acting/Cast- Wonderful acting by the entire cast. Not just the main actors but the supporting cast as well. Everyone made their characters stand out. I loved all the characters and they really felt like a family to me. I'm glad I got introduced to SIG because I’ll definitely be watching out for other things he’s in=)

Music- Interesting score that fit the scenes really well. The OST was very good but nothing I’d listen to out of the show.

Rewatch- I’d definitely watch this again but not too soon.

Overall Kimchi Family was a pleasure to watch and I will definitely miss watching every week.

I wanted a romantic comedy to watch but I wasn’t too sure about the storyline. It sounded just plain weird to me…

Story- Really funny in the beginning but does get a bit dramatic towards the second half. The twist involving the female character kind of weirded me out but I guess it made the drama more interesting? I don’t know. While it was something I hadn’t seen before in a drama, I felt uncomfortable at times because it brought the quality of the romance down for me. After episode 12 it did get to be a bit draggy and when the end finally came it was welcomed=)

Acting/Cast- Love the leads. They had a really great chemistry. The acting by the female lead was outstanding. I'm a new fan of hers. Kim Rae Won was Kim Rae Won, not bad but not outstanding either. I didn’t like the supporting characters at all. They were too meddlesome. Park Shi Hoo was quite forgettable in this one.

Music- Very good but not something I will listen to outside the show.

Rewatch- I would watch this again b/c i loved the leads but not for a while cause the story was so average.

Overall this is your average romcom with a twist.

I have no idea why I even started this one because a drama about 40 year olds really doesnt call out to a girl in her early 20s...

Story: Starts off with the two leads randomly bumping into each other on a set of a commercial. The first 2 episodes are hilarious as the male lead starts to fall in love with the female lead ( who was his past love) but he hasnt seen what she looks like in the present (shes changed for the worst). Although this drama is a predictable romcom, the writers did a solid job with making it entertaining but also writing a story with substance. It has one of the best endings Ive ever seen.

Acting/Cast: Jung Joon Ho (Iris, Queen of Reversals) brings IT in this one. His jealousy makes the show. His character is too hilarious. All his expressions are priceless! The lead actress did a great job portraying her ahjumma character. It was nice to see her transform from an ugly duckling to a pretty woman. Loved the makeover scene!
I did find the way the writers wrote her character a little off-putting at times because at first she comes off as naive/too obsessed with her first husband and it takes most of the drama before she convinces herself its okay to love Jae Bin. The rest of the supporting cast is great too!

Music: Kind of chessy but didnt take away from the enjoyment of the drama itself.

Rewatch: Quick pacing makes this something i can watch over and over again if i had the time.

Overall: This is geared to an older audience but if a 22 year old girl (me) is raving about it then it has to be really good right? Watch it!

So I'm watching Faith right now and I liked Kim Hee Sun in it so I wanted to see some of her past dramas. It also didn’t hurt that I like the 2 lead males in this and I know the 2nd female lead from other projects…

Story: I wouldn’t call this a melodrama but its not a romcom either. There are a ton of light moments (due to the softball team’s antics), heavy angst mix with tears (romance), evil doings (2nd female lead), bromance turned rivalry in business and love (both male leads), and some new plot developments within the last episode. While I thought this was well written (not that predictable and never boring), some impatient people might be turned off by the slow pacing.

Acting/Cast: Both female leads had more to work with acting wise and they had to bring on the tears and also experienced mood changes. I like Yoon Se Ah because she does play a lot of evil characters in most of her dramas but she has a way of making you feel sympathetic for her as well. For the 2 male leads I like their acting styles cause their kind of laid back. They both had chemistry with Kim Hee Sun and honestly I would have been fine with either of them ending up with her in the end.

Music: It was all over the place and sometimes I didn’t understand why they chose the score for certain scenes but I thought everything was pleasant to listen to while watching the drama.

Rewatch: This was a very easy watch that I breezed through so its something I would consider watching again but not for a while cause the plot wasn't that exciting.

Overall Smile Again is a more realistic sports drama mixed with a bit of basic drama elements.

I wasn’t planning on watching this cause I wasn’t that impressed by the casting but it was added to Dramafever and I happen to check out the reviews, which were surprisingly positive…

Story- Your average predictable romcom. However there is enough that goes on to keep you watching without getting bored/wanting to skip eps. I did find the setting of a divorce matchmaking office/divorce law office refreshing and the different cases the female took on were interesting as well.

Acting/Cast- I was really impressed by the lead actress. I had never seen anything with her before but her acting was very natural and she made her character extremely likable. The lead actor was the same in other roles I had seen him in (stiff). I wasn’t into his character because he was just too bland/boring. I did appreciate that there was chemistry between the leads though. I really liked the supporting cast and I enjoyed watching the side character’s stories.

Music- It was good but not memorable.

Rewatch- This is something I could definitely watch again but not for a while.

Overall Love Marriage is simple but the main female character and all the side characters make it an enjoyable.

I really liked this movie! It was funny, angsty and had a good plot. I thought the whole movie would be just about dancing but was surprised to find that a development of a romance was a large part of the plot. There were some parts that did feel a little slow. The movie ended on a nice note.

I liked the leads and even with their large age gap they managed to convince me that their characters loved each other. Props to MGY who showed off excellent dancing skills. I can tell she had to work her butt off filming this movie.

I know I'll be watching this again in the future, just not right away.

Thunder Birds is not a mainstream drama and that could be the reason why its not popular...

Story: Has a dark undertone to it due to the themes that the writers brought to the forth front: obsession, jealousy, birth secrets, lies. The writers did an amazing job keeping me guessing with the romance and just keeping me glued to the screen (most melos become repetitive after a while). What I loved most about it though was the hopeful/happy ending(you dont get those too often in melos).

Actors/Cast: I didnt know any of the leads but i was quite impressed with the casting choices after watching a few episodes. Han Hye Jin has amazing dramatic chops and i loved her chemistry not only with Joo Sang Wook but also her frenemy Kim Min Jung. I'll be honest, when i first saw KMJ on screen I got taken a back by her looks and not in a good way. I was so shocked that they would choose an actress that was not as pretty as the other main lead because it was hard to believe the main male character would choose her and become obsessed over her at first as he did. But when the time jump happens she is given a total makeoever and her amazing acting skills begin to shine. I really think both lead actresses did an equally tremendous job. I didnt like the second male lead characer, the acting was bad and his character really wasnt needed. Loved the rest of the supporting characters.

Music: Dark and moody to fit the atmosphere.

Rewatch- I will definitely watch it again because it had excellent pacing and i enjoyed it so much the first time but not for a bit because its so twisted.

Overall Thorn Birds is a different kind of melodrama but very enjoyable if you like gritty stories.

I Love Lee Tae Ri was suppose to be a fun romcom with a twist so it definitely attracted my attention with the premise. However, I was up in the air about the cast going in to this...

Story: Like I said the premise was an interesting one but when I found out that the kid was suppose to be 14 and then the female lead is almost 30, I was scratching my head how it would all turn out in the end. For the actual plot, except for the first few episodes, there wasn't any and by the end i would just have eps playing in the background while i was doing other things. Whats funny is i didnt miss anything. By the end I was just like i want to see if the couple would be able to end up together. One thing I did like was the romance. It was so cute and well written. The ending was kind of open ended but not really.

Acting: Ive only ever seen the actress who plays Tae Ri and shes only played very serious or robotic characters so it was nice to see her play someone who is naive/innocent. She had good chemistry with the main actor from SuJu. And while I liked the supporting characters, NONE of the characters (main or side) managed to make me have an attachment to them.

Music: The song by the fake girl group in the show was fun but they played it so many times i got tired of it. There were few other songs but they fit the show well enough.

Rewatch: This is one of those dramas that could be watched again but the question is do you really have to see it another time...

Overall Lee Tae Ri is funny at times but nothing you have to go out of your way for.

I tried watching this a while back and made it up to ep10 before putting it on hold. I randomly decided to pick it back up and just managed to finish it...

Story- The plot was simple/light in the beginning with life themes you come across everyday ( one night stands, unwedded pregancy, unwanted marraige). It wasn't really as entertaining as I would have liked it to have been (I dislike former gf/bf plot devices)but the wholesomeness of the latter half(introduction of older Shin Bi) and the added sickness plotpoint towards the last quarter kept me watching. I feel like the reason i wasn't completely in to the story in the beginning might have been the pacing? Oh and the ending was kind of rushed but better than I expected.

Acting/Cast- Eugene was really good. I liked that her character was cheerful, independent (when she had Shin Bi) and she was strong. Kim Jae Won was perfect as always and he had a very natural chemistry with Eugene. Both actors had a good parent chemistry with the lovely child actress who played Shin Bi. They all made a believable family.

Music- I liked it and it fit the scenes well.

Rewatch- I wouldn't mind watching this in a couple years.

Overall Wonderful Life offers life lessons and its just a very warm/wholesome family drama.
