Well said. The definitions of toxic here is overblown. When it is not a toxic romance. The drama is really for a mature audience who understand the nuances of a strong relationship and that it is not always going to be sweet. It’s bittersweet and more about how much good and how much bad there is. It is always the balance because we are always talking about two people very different coming together. It’s all about striking the balance. This was a very realistic portrayal of a relationship.

I never said that’s what made me love L&P- I would rate L&P much higher still. But legally romance was good in its own right

My opinion is the the FL from Legally Romance is a fantastic actress- and that drama is also a slice of life drama and it’s also about how she looks back at her life so far. It’s very introspective to tell you the truth and that is the aspect that’s similar to L&P as well. L& p is also very introspective

Those who are comparing Hidden Love to this one - please it’s not even close. Yes I liked that drama but this one has a very unique story and the characters and storyline are extremely different. Li Xun is way more complex than the ML in that drama and what they go through is completely different.

Yep this drama was very deep and meaningful. The bottom line is LX was too honest and principled to be a red flag in any sense. He was damaged because of everything he went through life and did not have much hope until the FL came along and supported him with all her strength. His only fault was poor communication skills. Well given his upbringing and what he went through I am not surprised at that either- and that is what partly destroyed him.

WRT Go Go squid- never understood the charm of that drama- could never get into it. Not my cup of tea. Yes the FL was extremely chilidish and stalker like there

Slight difference, for Gao the spiraling was caused by his delusions of greatness and what he was worth while for LX it was more real circumstances that led him to destroying himself -not necessarily insanity. In a way the 3 yrs of prison was actually good for him:)

I would not say story is anything like Lighter and Princess but it also kind of nudges you to think your life just like L&P does . WRT the FL - yeah she is a little too quirky and out there- but enjoyed it and I like that actress. I also really loved the ML in that one
