It is actually 10 episodes (as on Netflix). Ep. 9 and 10 were broadcast on TBS one after the other on Dec 12th to keep the schedule since a few weeks ago one episode had to be canceled and could not be broadcast as planned because of General Elections in Japan on Oct 31st.
After just one episode, I have no idea where this will lead to, but I'm hooked from the start. The story is exciting (Kyoto! Museums! The fine arts! And strange people all around!), the actors are convincing, and camera and music are exceptionally good for a Japanese TV series. I'm curious to see how that develops ...

I just watched ep. 1 and enjoyed it very much. I want to continue with this series because I like this kind of quiet and slow-paced slice-of-life drama a lot. And you are right, Atsushi: This may not be for everyone, but that's okay. "De gustibus non est disputandum" as they say. ;-)
