"If obsession isn't love, then I have never loved before"

The film stars Kim Go eun as Jaehee, a bold and free-spirited woman, and Noh Sang hyun as Heungsoo, a young gay man struggling to accept his identity in conservative Seoul, navigating their unusual and unique friendship.

Jaehee, who often misunderstood and misjudged by others, finds comfort in Heung-soo's company, while Heungsoo learns to embrace himself with Jaehee's help. The film beautifully balances heavy themes with lighthearted moments, all thanks to the strong chemistry between the leads.

>>Comparing the movie to the series:
The series showcased ML's bold lifestyle in different stages of life and his journey towards love, heartbreak and acceptance, on the other hand the movie emphasized one of his important part of life i.e his friendship with the FL, we did see a bit part of her in the series. Both versions stayed true to the main storyline but differ in their execution.

Both Lee Soo Kyung/Nam Yoon Su and Kim Go Eun/Noh Sang Hyun are different genre of same kind. Please don't try differentiate between the series and movie as both has its own charm. I enjoyed both of them very much.

Overall, it is a touching tale of friendship, self-discovery, and acceptance, making it a must-watch for fans of heartfelt romances.

When the ML plays the supporting role in his own story...

Honestly I won't waste my time writing long paragraphs explaining why I didn't like this point by point, because it is pretty much obvious why.

It was a much awaited KBL project because we absolutely adored and loved the manhwa and the dorky character of Heesu. But at the end, it was such a let down. I want to sue the directors for deceiving me. I'm so damn angry!

Why did Heesu and Seung Won was given less time than they deserve? After all THEY ARE THE MAIN LEADS! They wasted time and time-passed on silly things, misunderstandings and concentrated on everything other than Heesu and Seung Won's relationship.
What's the point of highlighting Chan young and Jiyu's relationship for 8 damn episodes when they were not even the main leads? I guess I'll never know, you know what I don't want to know.

Just so you know I liked the story, their acting, the characters, their feelings, hesitations, navigating through troubling thoughts... everything except Chan Young's prolonged tennis and JiYu's guitar talks which eventually side tracked Heesu's storyline and kind of stretched it till the last minute for no reason. It was boring and I felt that it was absolutely unnecessary. Clearly Heesu has been wronged! We only got 10 minutes of their relationship and then end. Hah! What a shit show!

Overall, I've wasted my time so you don't have to. If you still want to torture yourself with frustration and anger, if you don't mind second leads taking 90% of the screen time then go ahead and watch it but I won't be recommending this to anyone. Watch it at your own risk.

Bittersweet journey to the core of "yourself"!

I won't make my review unnecessarily lengthy. Obviously you're here for "What's there to like?" Let me answer that for you...
When I started watching Yumi's cells S1 honestly I came for Ahn Bo Hyun. But stayed for the plot. Why? Because it the plot speaks for us. I felt myself in Yumi. She's You, she's us! The emotional rollercoaster we face everyday in our daily life, the hurdles we overcame, the breakups we've been through, the thoughts left unsaid, those overwhelming situations made me laugh, angry, and cry too.
In the mid of S2 I was really confused about the plot. The characters and screenwriters successfully put us into a abyss of contemplation. Which I must say is worth contemplating for!
Ms. Yumi earned my respect. She isn't perfect. She knows how to compromise but she'll never settle for less.
And lastly the beautiful OSTs Ling Ling, Shinning on Your Night both just stole my <3

If you don't want to watch it yes you can skip, no big deal. But if you watch this till the end, I can assure you won't regret it.

Overhyped undercooked K-drama meal at its peak!

Before starting Queen of Tears:
"OMG I'M SO EXCITED" ٩(ᵔ0ᵔ)۶

Ep 1-8: OOOHHH, I'm enjoying!!! (ʃƪ˘з˘)

Ep 9-12: hmmm, ok...umm ( ˙-˙ )

Ep 13-16: EH? WHAT? WTH? (╯°Д°)╯︵ ┸┸

☑️Likes:
✓Leads bickering and them being mean to eachother occasionally

✓THE AUNT!

❎Dislikes:

Everything else other than likes. Starting with -
X FL's mean character and they dragged her sickness too long
X ML being a pushover
X The pacing of the story, it got damn boring at the end of the story, that I had to use +30sec and 2x speed button back to back.
X Slow sloth moments with all ballad OSTs had me yawn in every single episode.
X DAMN PEOPLE CAN CRY, I wouldn't know if I didn't watch this. They cried in almost every episode. Drunk crying, happy crying, cute crying, sad⁹⁹ crying, angry crying and so on.
(I shouldn't have picked this one to watch considering the title being filled with tears -_-)
X And WhyTF did that old selfish geezer escaped from this misery?! He's the root cause of this mishap, now when he saw he is in deep mud, run away without explaining, leaving his offsprings in pain. Strange!!!

If this drama was one of my first dramas, I would have loved it and rated it close to 10. But after watching hundreds of dramas I have outgrown this genre and developed a taste of my own where bleak plots like this completely failed to entertain me. They had big budget, star artists, pretty faces, crystal clear cinematography but lacked to grip attention of the audience with less intriguing plot.

This is an one time watch only. You watch, you finish, you forget and move on in life. But why did I watch? Because my completionist brain said "you've come so far to drop it now, deal with it". >.<

My Rating: 5/10 ʕ–_–ʔ
If I have to explain the drama in one word that would be, "BORING".

Why is it so hard to find happiness? Will this misery ever end?

This is the story of Daon's perfectly "normal" life which was turned upside down by Seong Hyeon, a lovely retriever. The plot takes a huge turn when this introduction of a good guy bothers his old college seniors. That's where this miserable life of Daon started, or should I say, that it's always been like this, unbeknownst to him.

• Storyline: Was just brilliant! The writer perfectly knitted every twist so brilliantly that the audience can't even guess how the plot will take a turn in the second half of the episode. It was a thriller jam-packed with anticipation and excitement.

• Characters:

>From the beginning till the end, all the characters, Daon, Seong Hyeon, Jaemin and Su Hyeon, didn't even let me blink for a second.

>Daon's helplessness, Seong Hyeon's yearning for love, Jaemin & Su Hyeon's toxic maniac traits made me sit on the edge and feel all uneasy.

>Jaemin and Su Hyeon's obsessive nature towards Daon was hard to watch as we saw him suffer and suffer. Even if he wanted to love or be loved, they made sure not to let him live in peace, as they were both were burning in jealousy. Even if Su Hyeon was somewhat decent in comparison with Jaemin, who was a complete psycho lunatic!

>At some point, they thought of Daon as a possession that one is dying to possess by discarding the fact he's a human. He has feelings too. The burnout from the everyday pitiful life of Daon was visibly painful to watch. The scope of finding the light of hope seemed to be narrowing down the tunnel with each episode.

>On the other hand, Seong Hyeon was trying his best to be emotionally and physically available to Daon as he deeply fell in love with him without knowing that the other two would never give up on him and try their best not to let him succeed in love.

• Acting: Can you believe the actors are rookies and this is their first and biggest lead roles? I mean, I can't even imagine how hard work it needed to deliver this great acting.

• Music: The BGMs were enjoying it as they created a suspenseful environment throughout the episodes.

After so long, the BL industry understood who was the king of great plots, i.e. KBLs! There's no match! We've seen so many good guy-bad guy toxic romances, but this storyline was beyond my expectations. It's like a breath of fresh air among all the raw, poor, half-baked, NC-filled BLs out there. THE ANGST WAS ANGSTING LIKE NO OTHER! omg so hotttt ヾ(•̀з•́)ノ゙ YEAHHH!

Overall, a highly recommended drama for those who are bored with all the mediocre BLs out there and want to watch something that'll keep you on the edge, then this is for you. What a brilliant roller-coaster bumpy ride it was! I'm speechless!

HANDS DOWN-
THE. BEST. KBL. EVERR! PERIODT.
The way each and every episode was woven with intricate twists and turns, left me OPEN-MOUTHED!

(I'm giving it a 9.5 and deducting -0.5 because I'm petty af! Muahaha!)

In friendship, age has no bar.

"If we only accept pretty things, then this whole town will be wiped out, won't it?"

Let's go karaoke is a random slice-of-life movie where you meet two bizarre yet perfect combination of characters in a questionable wholesome situation. A 40yr old yakuza Kyouji asks a 14yr old choir boy Satomi to teach him “how to sing”. After reading the synopsis you would expect a scary looking yakuza threatening a timid school boy to get what he wants. But in reality it's the opposite. How? That's for you to discover.

The movie is pretty much about the adolescent boy teaching him how to sing and founding himself in unusual situations with scary yakuza members. The absurdity of the whole plot is the juxtaposition of scary yakuza image and them taking karaoke singing competition so seriously like their life depends on it. Thanks to this film I found another banger “Kurenai” >.<
The bgm and hilarious singing adds up to it.
It's only possible for Japan to deliver this kind of unique plot. Throughout the film you watch two mismatched people come closer and forming a bond. Both the actors skillfully depicted the intricate emotions of their distinct characters.

I'm that type of person who reads the manga/webtoon first before diving into the series/movies. The mangaka, Yama Wayama has my heart and soul. Her art style is just my type. I read and watched “Captivated by you” long ago which I absolutely adored it but sadly was unaware of this manga. The way she combined and delivered all the essence of characters in panels is just phenomenal.

Definitely recommend them, both the one-shot manga and its lovely adaptation.

One of the loveliest romcom ever!

When I first started this, I didn't expect to like it this much. They skillfully maintained the comedic elements from the beginning till the end.

I must be in the minority who didn't dislike the FL. Actually, I loved the FL very much. Mi Kyung's nagging was actually another form of caring and showing love to people who mattered in her life. She was a devoted lover, true best friend and a passionate potato enthusiast. No way could I dislike or hate her character.

Baek Ho is the smartest, handsomest dimwit in this potato universe! No matter how much he tried to look cool, in the end he ended up being silly again and again. Loved his character arc. His transition from a stern, solid and emotionless career-oriented man to a "softie sweetie" smitten with love won my heart. His cold interior and exterior were melted by the love and affection he never got as a child.

Leads' chemistry was off the charts. They've become my favorite couple. Loved their bickering, loving and caring sides. Them being friends in real life makes it feel more natural and entertaining.

The side characters were also very entertaining. They kept it all together. No character seemed extra or could be skipped. All of them were equally lovely and supportive of the MLs.

Once in a blue moon, I got to enjoy a romcom without nitpicking little details and fully indulging myself in the laughter and fluffiness of the characters, and it was that kind of drama. Not complicated, no murder mystery, pure comedy and romance as the cherry on top! Delicious ^o^

Overall, if you are looking for a brainless and enjoyable light romcom, then this is definitely for you

Bloodline doesn't make you family, but heart does.

This is a story of the friendship of a mother-daughter duo who got each other's back through thick and thin. Let me be clear, this is neither a rom-com nor a heavy emotional drama but a proper mature drama with no adult scenes. I refer this as a mature drama because they deal with certain emotions which are not easily understandable for a teenager or a minor. If you're one, then I doubt you will enjoy this as much as I did.

The plot revolves around the world of this duo. Here the daughter, Jin hee is a lot mature than her mother Eun mi. Eun mi is an independent, feisty, confident woman who likes to have fun, be reckless but never let anyone even her daughter control her life. She is her own boss who spice up this duo's life. On the other hand, Jin hee is calm, confident and a diligent daughter who works as a police officer. They have different opinions and values of life, but they try to hurt each other's feelings. They're more like constantly bickering friends than anything. At first, Eun mi's character might feel selfish, but she has every reason to act like that. She became a single mother at the age of 16 and never got to enjoy her life like normal youngsters. And Jin hee got matured at an early age because of her situation. They are very protective of each other. Like yin and yang they both of them complete each other. The chemistry between these two is too awesome! Sometimes they'll make you laugh, sometimes they'll make you cry too.

Another reason for calling this a mature drama is because how they dealt with the family issues. At first when Eun mi started dating Jin hee's biological father after 30 years, I thought this is weird. how come she can act like nothing happened and date the person who was unaware of his own child. Then she declared very clearly that even if she date this person Jin hee will always be her top priority and irrespective of Jin hee's relation with person she will be her child, ONLY HER'S. They were awkward and hesitant at first but they overcome that and accepted this whole thing as a fresh start. The biological father never demanded to be treated as her father because he can never fill the blank space in Jin hee's life. She's happy as the way things are and so there's no need to complicate things further. They respected each other's space which created a harmony in them.

From the very beginning they got me hooked. The drama, suspense, emotional scenes, all were shot very realistically. I adored each character even if they were flawed. Many viewers said that they wanted to see the romance between Jin hee and Jae won but let's not forget that main lead here is the Mother-daughter duo, they focused on the relationship between these two.

It was an interesting journey to core of a mother-daughter relationship. Almost felt like I was watching myself on the screen.

A toxic relationship worth the watch!

This a story of a stand in who was accustomed being a shadow of an actor until he met his love of his life who tore his peaceful life and made it chaotic as hell. Once a stand-in, always a stand-in.

• It was not all good and flawless but I liked the toxicity (iykyk) and pitiful character of Joe. He's the reason I stayed till the end. He deserved all the happiness yet he get to suffer more than anyone. He's literally the star of the show and all the other characters were a bit amateurish.

• Up and Poom's chemistry is to die for!!! You hate him in one episode and then on the other your brain somehow starts to sympathize, you hate it but can't help it. I wouldn't lie, my heart was played by Ming just like Joe's. It's time to accept we're all sadist in some kind of way.

• Notable things I liked- random blind yogi baba in a foggy forest drinking tea and doing nothing, Ming's assistant's oversized blazer, a thai gangster wearing turban?!? and rare outburst of Joe in just one episode.

Breaking down the nagatives:

-0.5 for all the hiccups in acting and action scenes which made me laugh and yes I skipped a few of them because they looked like kids fighting lol. I want perfection. Period.

-1 for Sol's existence and his awful idol performance. Wtf got him to Korea I wonder. He better improve his acting skills or say bye bye to showbiz industry

-0.5 for Ming who let Joe fall from the stairs while he was just standing like an idiot (╥﹏╥)

After criticizing all these things I'll still say I liked it. Yes I'm a generous giver as this was a thai adaptation of danmei which we didn't lost to censored bromance, so I have give them a score they truly deserve!

Our Ball Boy definitely hides some tactics under his hood!

A revolutionary BL that shook the BL universe by just uttering two words, i.e. "I'm gay". Can you just believe it? Is it the same K-BL?

The story revolves around two athletes fighting for their hearts while being vulnerable under the scrutiny of the pressure from the world.

If I'm being honest, I liked the first four episodes and then episodes 5 and 6 really disappointed me, but what happened in the last two episodes just shook me to the core. Why? Let me explain — we know athletes go through immense pressure of performance, public perception and not creating any rumors. Within this stressful setting, they continue to perform, but stress never gets better even when they retire; just exactly what happened to Jiwon. Incidents from his past still haunt him, making him feel uncomfortable wherever he goes. Watching him struggling and letting out his words overwhelmed me with all kinds of emotions. But the last two episodes really did clear the confusion for me and Jungwoo as well. We got "The Talk", the clearing session that is missing in 90% of the dramas. It was refreshing! Last episode just gave me butterflies in various shapes, colors and sizes. Definitely helped me increase the ratings.

Overall, it's a cute, intense and lovely drama that makes bad days better in an instant. Highly bingeable!

A little bit of sugar won't give you diabetes and might enhance your platter <3

I don't know if I can find any bad part in this BL even if I search with my magnifying glasses on...all I can see is spotless acting and raw transparent adult emotions with relatable characters to swoon over.

YES it's cute, fluffy, refreshing and calming.
For me the most beautiful thing is that Togawa didn't forced his feelings on Nouze-san, this story happened naturally. Being single and close to 40 Mr. Nouze must have felt his life boring and uninteresting. At that time Togawa came into his life like a breath of fresh air. They both understood their boundaries as subordinates.

They are adults in love and but can giggle like a child over little things.

I can conclude this as a healthy BL to feed on whenever you're tired. Plots like this tells us that love at first sight still do exist and stays for a longer time, which makes me wonder why something like this doesn't happen to us :')

In the heart of the forest, sometimes being lost is the best way to find yourself, even in the dark

The story of a passionate young boy, Faifa, who got exiled in a forest by his own grandmother and entrusted him to another man, Hem, who didn't want another distraction which would eventually threaten his peace.

—From the beginning of the story, the audience's eyes are blessed with beautiful scenes of lush green Thailand. Watching this show correlates with healing. It was love at first sight for me. I didn't know what would happen in the future, but I completely lost myself in the scenic woods like it was calling me.

—Aside from the senary, the characters were also interesting and the storyline itself was enough to make me seated.
Faifa's optimistic attitude towards life was refreshing. No matter how demotivated he felt inside, he always kept his chin up, motivated himself and never stopped dreaming. On the contrary, Hem was a hardworking young man, but he was always demotivated inside, so he kept himself busy with taking care of elephants, the duties of a forest ranger, and overall in charge of the Pokpa sanctuary.

—Fifa's rabbit mask representation was crucial as it wasn't just a cool accessory but a shield to escape. By hiding his face, he hid his true emotions and feelings and gulped down his unspoken words; his coping mechanism was masking. He was optimistic outside, but deep down he too was suffering in fear of losing his dream. That mask helped him to hold onto his emotions when he knew he couldn't control his facial expressions.

—Hem and Faifa both had opposite views of each other, but as they got to know they realized how much they'd healed each other. Faifa's innocence infiltrated Hem and melted his hardened heart which was hurting him. Both of them are unfamiliar with their feelings, just coexisting like earth and water. Water softens the Earth. Fifa brought out the more emotional side of Hem, while Hem helped Fifa understand better how to manage real-world struggles from a more rational perspective. Once separated, they let you know why they are inseparable. Hem's tenderness towards Fifa showed a bit of his overflowing emotions. As usual, sulky Fifa is the cutest; who can resist teasing him?

—It was a 7-episode drama, but I felt like I had known them for ages. I devoured each and every second. It was like a warm cup of hot chocolate hugging your body with a warm embrace, slowly, gently and gradually. For some, this can be a boring, slow show, but to me this was good because it was slow and let us view their characters from every angle. They gave each other time- a time to realize, to heal, to start again in life with happiness and prosperity.

—This was a show I would be happy to watch once a week, to slow down, forget about everything and just concentrate on nature, humans and salving every moment. The slow burn is so slow that it makes you forget about romance and just concentrate on their character growth episode by episode.

—This is the charm of independent projects. Their content can be low budgeted and not so frequent sometimes but they never compromise quality over quantity. They never relied on NC scenes but built the storyline based on their precious bonds of the characters slowly. That's how Lost in the woods was born.

Aahh, I loved this. This show was truly my weekly dose of fresh oxygen, which made me look forward to every Wednesday. Overall, if you are up for something peaceful, slow and simple, then you'll love it. But if you are looking for a quick romance, fast-paced relationship growth, then this might disappoint and frustrate you. Otherwise, I would recommend this to everyone.

Breaking the wall of disappointment, you came into my life as a ray of hope.

This is a story of two teenagers acting like adults just to be found that their inner child is still alive and yearning for the love and affection they never got.

The drama that I almost skipped had me in tears. I can't explain to you enough how much I could connect with their storyline. This was very different than any other love story where the word "love" was never uttered but understood in their own way.

💟The things I appreciate:

• First of all, I wasn't interested in another high school stepbrother falling in love, but I was pleasantly surprised at how neatly they had woven the storyline so intricately that you couldn't let go.

• It's not easy to accept someone as your parent with whom you're not biologically connected. So Sheng Wang not accepting Tian's mother as his mother was normal. Most importantly, the way he accepted is praiseworthy. Like, I accept you as my family, but definitely you can't replace my mother. Fair enough.

• The best part of the series is its willingness to give "time" to both characters and them accepting the circumstances. It's not like they started hating or loving each other all of a sudden; it was a continuous natural process of them coming to terms with being brothers and then realising maybe they have affection and consider each other more than brothers. Things weren't rushed but shown in a slow, subtle manner.

• Sheng Wang and Jang Tian's past experiences created a deep hollow in their hearts; they closed their hearts and isolated themselves from the whole world until they met each other. But the process of them getting to know about each other in small situations had me wondering how small things hold important memories in our brain that we don't know we had. A simple gesture of avoidance holds a heap of grudges in our hearts, which slowly eat us from the inside.

• The side characters are lovely. Realistically, when you have several comforting, reliable helping friends like Gao Tian, Li Jia, Xu Tian, etc., then there's always someone who's not friendly and jealous of you, like Jia Hao.

📝Room for improvement:

•Actually NONE. I'm neither worried about it's runtime or long episodes nor any side characters because everyone was flawed, and they and I both accepted them as they are, beautifully broken.

About the 2nd season, I do want that; I do want to know how they'll deal with and explain their simple feelings in this complex world, but I do realise some things should be left as they are, unfinished and unsaid; that's how real things get in life. That's why I could connect with this so well.

Overall, if you are not worried about teenagers being absolutely frustrating, having a slow-paced storyline, having no physical intimacy, but having a pure connection of soul and heart, then this is for you.

GRITTY AND INTENSE THRILLER TO BOGGLE YOUR MIND

I watched this series back in 2019 while I was on a trip with my family and decided to binge watch all the downloaded episodes in the bus.
That was dumb. I agree cuz after watching this series I was left dazed and in denial for days. Last time I was this baffled when I watched the "House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths" docu series.
From first 5 min to last minute I was hooked! I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. All of characters were written equally weird and wonderful. Not only Im Si Wan and Lee Dong Wook acted well but also the other characters like Park Jong Hwan, Lee Joong ok and Lee Jung Eun created an eerie aura which will make you realise how gruesome-ly each characters are real.

Whatever you do, you can't change what is destined to happen!

A story of a lost soul who tries to make things right in the present after being in the future for 4 minutes.

It had a grand start filled with thrills, naked white butts, and lots of anticipation of great content. Another BL with a time travel theme got me interested in watching. It was going very well; I understood what was going on and created a link in my mind. But soon after episode 4, things started going downhill. I lost track of what was going on and totally got confused with the storyline. If I were to name a drama as a show-off, then this is the shinning example of it. Wait, this is literally synonymous to BOC now!

Even though I understood what was happening at the last 4 minutes of EP 8, in general the story feels like a fever dream where you feel like you understand the situation but still can't figure out what and why that is happening. And after waking up, you completely forgot what it was all about. The storyline is so erratic that I lost interest in the middle. There were different storylines, and they wanted to give attention to every one of them, but while doing that, they lost the actual significance of the show. Maybe it's not that complicated, but sure, it is confusing. Still, I watched it because I wanted to reach the conclusion. So I can't really point out what I liked or disliked, as I feel like I'm in a daze to conclude anything.

It had a big budget, great artists, and beautiful and aesthetic cinematography, but it fell short in terms of storytelling and binding the whole thing together. Again, it is proved that BOC failed to deliver a compelling story and tried to hide it with NC scenes and handsome faces. I had high expectations, but now I'm utterly disappointed. I can't rate this show high just because of its high content value. I do enjoy the complicated storylines, but I can't lose my brain cells over 8 episodes of content. Maybe I'm too dumb for this; it's not for me.
