You are right I never felt much in the scene of Lord Langya's execution but after watching Dashing Youth it breaks my heart even thinking about it 😭

I felt sad for him when he died in TBOY but back then I didn't have much attachment to Lord Langya but after seeing how noble his character is and now that I have some attachment with character I might not have felt sad if I had watched TBOY after DY.

I never liked Roujin either but I understand Lord Langya's choice about not wanting to become an Emperor. Yes the only good thing he did was being a nice king and choosing the right prince for the throne ( he prevented Xiao se from having the same fate as Lord Langya) unlike his father.

I think Prince Bai was a lot better than his father in character they, only looked alike. He didn't usurp the throne when Xiao Se went for war and throne remained empty for months even though the head eunuch offered him to. Also he helped Xiao Se in fighting Lou Qingyang by sending sword deities that were supporting him even though death of Xiao Se would have removed the biggest hurdle in way of his throne. As he said himself that his character is not as white as Xiao Se who is without any ambitions,but he is not completely black either. He had his ambitions but he didn't forsake his humanity for it. In short he was more humane and clever than his father 😁
