I agree. People should stop focusing on ML and FL. Instead they should just focus on the story.

She is instrumental in solving some cases in the future so yes she has to be in. This is not a romance oriented drama. And technically she is not FL.

And I believe Lu Lingfeng comes from a famous Lu clan of Fanyang.

I've noticed that social media accounts on IG, Facebook, etc that talk about cdramas talk very little about this drama. Even iQiyi international themselves aren't promoting SToTD as much as their idol dramas. When SToTD2 reached 5 million reservations, iQiyi didn't even post anything on their IG or other international social media. Instead, they keep pushing their idol dramas over to the top. It's not surprising that international audience prefer idol dramas. And they will only watch dramas with the idols they know.

Over 25,000 ppl rated so that's quite a lot for a drama that has just aired for less than a week.

I've got some ideas but I'm not sure because they concluded that there are 2 groups of assassins. But from the document that SWM took from the assassin and showed to LLF, it looks like one of these two is from the Eastern Palace (the crown prince, now emperor). I think that's why LLF looks really upset.

I agree. I think that's what the writer wants to portray LLF character. Perhaps due to his childhood (if you noticed in S1) where he didn't get to feel much motherly love. So he doesn't know how to show affection. I think the writer has crafted the characters meticulously.

Actually this time they've been doing much more promotion than in S1. With S1 they hardly even promoted. At least in China, as far as I know, they did press conference, photo shoot for some kind of magazine, and some more interviews, which they hadn't done before with S1. Before they began airing on 18th, they had gained over 5 million reservations, which is quite unusual for a drama that doesn't have traffic or idol actors.

Such a moving case with layers of issues in our society such as mother - son, relationship, marriage, mother in law -daughter in law relationship, suicide, etc. This is my favorite case so far. The closing of the case brought me to tears. Bravo! Really well written case ♥️

SToTD fans in China have an endearing name for LLF. They call him Lu Lu and they love it when he's angry. They think he's cute when he huffs and puffs. He's like a pufferfish 😂

I don't understand why people are doing it. On Douban too. Just a couple of weeks before they aired SToTD2, the rating of SToTD reached 8.0 and somehow it has gone down to 7.9.
But MDL is worst, I think, since the system allows people to rate even before they watch the drama or even before the drama airs.

During a live stream while S1 was airing, fans suggested the team to make cases in S2 more complicated coz they could guess most of the culprits in S1. And the team listened. I think it's good that they asked the fans for some feedback and suggestions.

Yeah, I miss hand-to-hand combat in wuxia. Very rare to see it in wuxia these days. Not only that, the anime style where they yell their attack names while fighting. I just can't get into it. I guess just not my cup of tea 😁 But Ancient Detective (2020) was really good. I liked it a lot. It had the right vibe as old school wuxia. Too bad, they didn't make S2. .

As for SToTD, I'm neutral towards the leads but the overall production is really good. Solid storyline and well fleshed out characters. And they picked actors who seriously can act such as the musical actor. I didn't know that he did musical, but I knew he was recommended by fans. SToTD team really listen to audience. I think it's good for them.
