It's frustrating

Before anything I'll avoid talking about the age gap bc it's overdone at this point.

However, that doesn't mean I won't talk about the fl.

-1st of all her fashion choices? In my life I've never seen a heroine dress that way. And this says a lot bc I don't even care about fashion or what the actors wear ever! Literally ever! But what was happening in this drama punched me in that face so I couldn't ignore it how much I tried (I did try, a lot)
The outfits she wore were all grandma like outfits. Literally. I mean everyone has their taste but it doesn't even look good on her or flattering. On the contrary she's a beautiful and youthful looking woman (in her irl everyday life) but the outfits made her look older than she actually is.

-Second of all Never in my life have I seen a fl with literally ONE hairstyle throughout the 16 episodes? (a part from a bathroom scene and the end scene) her hair is in a tight bun 99.9% of the time. She looks gorgeous with literally any other hairstyle except that!

Okay enough about the fl, she's a great actress and
a beautiful woman but she didn't make the best choices this time around.

Now the drama itself.
-There's ZERO chemistry between the leads ZERO! And it's not about the age it's just a compatability thing.

-the plot is predictable and flat and every time they face a problem, the problem solves itself in the dumbest way possible or they straight up IGNORE IT AND NEVER TALK ABOUT IT AGAIN!

-so many useless subplots that didn't turn out to anything in the end.

-bad characters that didn't get what they deserve and good characters that didn't get what they deserve either.

It started out okayish, had potential. It was even funny but all went downhill after the first third of the drama.

The only good thing about this drama is the acting bc they all are really good actors.

Overall it was a frustrating experience for me and I'm sorry yo say I wouldn't recommend it.

There's something missing

This drama started with not exactly new story but a fresh take on it. It started simple but then got complicated (in a good way) as you continue. Like an onion being peeled layer after layer.

Do you know how peeling one makes you ugly cry? Yeah that! It was exhausting to watch the dead people stories and regrets. I cried every episode. I knew what I was getting into when I read the premise ig. It was done beautifully too but I'd have appreciated a few lighthearted stories to take a break from all the sadness.

The end felt lackluster to me. You have 15 episode with really sad storied so you'd naturally expect the 16th to be a little relief. A bit satisfying. It's not a lot to ask. But instead you only have an end. It sounds weird but I bet people who watched it would understand. Something was missing and it was annoying.

The cast was really good and I got attached to every single one.

*special shout out to Song Deokho because imo he was the best acting wise throughout the show.

I loved both the main leads but felt like Lee Hyeri was overreacting a few times (I absolutely love her she's the reason I decided to watch the drama but I have to be honest)

Overall it's a great drama (can't say otherwise) but could've easily been better!

Love-hate relationship

One of the most important elements to a successful drama is how satisfying /fulfilling the ending is.

It's not about what we might think is fair but what makes us exhale in ease at the end feeling it's finally wrapped and tucked nicely in our memory.

That wasn't the case here.

-We follow an mc who is very poor, very in debt, has an ill mother and a lonely daughter who will be taken away from him forever if he doesn't do anything.

None of that gets even remotely solved! Zero!

-We grew to know and love characters like Saebyeok and her scattered family and her last hope to bring them together.

Again, NOTHING CHANGES!
*well except a very very weak last minute forced scene that had no absolute value!

- We're introduced to a police officer who we expect to be the end of this organization. But guess what he adds to the story?
Right, NOTHING!

We, as viewers, are attached to these characters, feeling what they feel. We, and them, endured the horrors of the game bc of a purpose. We wanted them to achieve their goals, we wanted to see them happy at last. or at the very least for something to change!!

But to make all of these stories and characters and games and twists and emotional manipulation to keep everything exactly the way it is, is just weak writing in my opinion.

Even if they were planning on a season 2 from the start, (which I really hope so, for their sake. Otherwise this was the worst drama ending I've ever seen) they should've made it a little more (or any) satisfying to the viewers. They sacrificed the ending for s1 to build for a s2. But even that was very poorly written and executed.

The drama was great in the beginning, amazing even. I was at the edge of my seat the whole time, binging episode after another in anticipation. That's why I can't give it a lower rating.

All was great until the last two episodes or the last one really. It left me confused, mad and disappointed. And all I could think was "wth did I just watch?"

It's like watching cartoons (not in a good way)

There's a hero who saves the day and there's Vincenzo who fixes every problem/issue/injustice like a walk in the park 3 days before it even happens lol

Every episode ends on this major problem that they make seem like the end of the world with no way out. Yet on every next episode's first scene comes Vincenzo laughing in our faces like: SIKE!! I already knew about this and took my measures to prevent it!! Everything is great literally less than 10 minutes into the episode.

So Vincenzo knows everything about everyone and knows how the bad guys will think and act before they themselves know. Nothing (literally) is stopping him or slowing him down whatsoever. He's perfect and makes no mistakes. So why are we watching? It's incredibly unrealistic and unmotivating to watch someone who is good at everything. If I know that everything would magically work out for him anyway then what's the point?

The plot is a mess and I don't understand how it has a nearly 9 rate. Maybe people are seeing something I'm not but what I see is... A perfect mafia guy who killed lots of people and could never face problems, suddenly joins a bunch of random people's long fight against a huge corporation in a country he doesn't even know and swears to help them achieve "justice for some reason that was never discussed.

The fl character is flat and two-dimensional although being funny and quirky and quite promising in the first few episodes which, if used properly, could've been a really good and fresh view of female leads in kdramas.

Vincenzo's character being in the mafia was also a fresh concept that I was excited about until they butchered it literally in the first half of the first episode. And for the rest of the drama cut the whole mafia storyline down to being too cool and too smart and too ahead of everyone plus a bunch of random quotes said in Italian.

and what with the dreams he always has of killing people? What even is the purpose of those?

Every episode is longer than an hour which is extremely long for the lack of events in each one. it got quite boring really fast and sometimes I had to increase playback speed because everything is just SO SLOW I don't know why.

I don't have a problem with "easy to watch" light dramas. I also love Song Joong-ki (I really really do. He's the only reason I continued the drama) But this drama isn't light it's just plain ridiculous and I'm genuinely sad to say that I regret watching it!

I have been putting off watching this for the longest time because of the hate I heard it was getting but yesterday I decided to give a try and I binged it in one day and I don't understand why people are complaining really.

The story is very decent and intriguing (although its just the first part and everything isn't clear yet) and it kept me very interested to know what happens next (it doesn't happen easily for me especially with these types of dramas)

The acting is amazing!! everyone is made for their part. I can't find one actor that wasn't absolutely immersed in their character like it was what they were born to do!!

The only thing that was bothering me was that the episodes are a little too long so we end up with too much walking and going up the stairs and calling names 15 times in a row. I think it could've been better if it was an hour long but I'm an impatient person so I think some people won't care about that.

Do I think this is perfect? no but it's really really good and definitely worth the watch.

In the end I won't tell you to go watch it but if you're thinking about watching but not sure because of all the hate just give yourself a chance to judge for yourself because people are really being unfair to this drama.

Pros and cons

Pros:
1. Amazing acting
2. Very real and well written 3d characters
3. Intense and intriguing first half

Cons:
1. Slow second half compared to the first
2. The ending isn't everyone's cup of tea
3. Some repetitive points in the plot

This is my first melodrama in years. It's good overall but could've been better! It's the intense first half that had me having too high expectations for the whole drama so the second half ended up being "okay" for me. However I don't regret watching, the acting and characters made up for it.

The romantic comedy classic you should be watching right now!

Before every new episode, I'd always think oh this is it this is the episode where everything goes downhill. This is the episode where it becomes boring and uninteresting but every episode I was proved wrong. IT NEVER HAPPENED!!

Let me just say this isn't the perfect drama okay? The story has a lot of cliches BUT they are done so right you won't even mind them (trust me you won't)

If you're looking for a romantic comedy that makes your heart flutter and evoke your emotions THIS IS IT GO WATCH IT RIGHT NOW DON'T EVEN FINISH THIS REVIEW!!!

But if you're looking for a story with perfect logic and reasoning don't watch it (but let's be real here if that's the case then romantic comedy dramas aren't the right genre for you. You might find what you're looking for in action- thriller dramas)

The characters are 10/10 I was attached to every single one (never happened to me before and I watch a lot of kdramas) and I mean every single one..there is no one that I was like meh about their story or scenes. Every character is well done and very VERY well portrayed. And The CHEMISTRY wow!!! All of them had chemistry with each other and I mean THE WHOLE CAST!!! this is one of the best castings I've ever seen IN MY LIFE not just in kdramas!!

Seri was my favorite. she is an incredible actress and I can't believe I've never seen her before.. also her character isn't like any of the female leads I've seen in kdramas. She's strong, independent, brave, smart, and incredibly funny.

Hyun bin was amazing as always. Strong, loving, caring and the cutest soldier that ever served.

The two second leads are amazing. Both were new to me and both I loved very very much. I loved how the SL story wasn't the typical one in every kdrama. So to avoid spoilers just know that they are amazing. One of the best second leads in all the kdramas I watched.

I'm a person that doesn't like a lot of characters in romantic dramas. I just care about the main leads. Sometimes the second leads too but that's it. I don't like multiple characters with stories of their own. But CLOY changed that completely. Like I mentioned before I ended up attached to everyone. They will make you love them no matter what.

The acting was unbelievable..everyone was made for their role. I don't think I've thought that someone wasn't a really good actor even once from beginning to end. Acting 100/10

The music and osts are really beautiful. I've been listening to them regularly for a month or so they're really beautiful and very fitting.

Of course, I'd watch this again!!! I want to watch all of it again right now!!! And I hate rewatching things! This is how much I love this!!

Cons: some scenes are cliches and a little over the top.

Pros: everything else! Acting, actors, chemistry, pace, characters, comedy, romance and music.

I'll try to make this short.

It had SO much potential and I don't say this lightly. It really did. The first half was amazing, new and very intriguing! But during the middle something happened and it became really slow and had so little progress in each episode. I just continued because of my attachment to the characters and for that part in me that knows that the story is actually pretty good and I want to know how it'd end.
Honestly If I could I'd remove 4-5 episodes from the middle that had so little affect on the story and felt repetitive and useless.

The ending is good but a lot of questions weren't answered and you're left with a number of loose ends.

I won't go into details because it would take forever.

The acting was great! Everyone was made for their role and did it exceptionally well! The chemistry between the main leads (and every other couple really) was also perfect and both of these things made up for the plot drag.

To summarize: it's good! If you're looking for something perfect this isn't for you but if you're looking for a romantic cute drama with good chemistry and don't mind about the plot holes this would be perfect for you!

Liked it or not I think most people would agree that hotel del luna was one of the best kdramas in 2019.
Personally I don't like the one ghost/case/patient per episode type of dramas but I really liked this one.

The main story is very interesting and the main roles' stories are very creative and fun to watch.. But they didn't focus on that as much as they focused on the ghost of the episode story so that was a little disappointing.
The ghost stories were good too don't get me wrong but the main stories had more potential to have made this drama a perfect one.
Other than that, everything else was really great.
The acting was amazing. I've never watched the male or the female leads before (I've heard of them though) so I'm not biased at all.. Both of them did a great job. Actually all of the cast did (In the present and the past). The acting in this drama was one of the best I've ever seen.. Everyone was made for their part.

A must mention: IU "ate" her role. I can't think of other words to describe it. The first time I saw her I thought aww she's too cute to play this part but as I continued the drama I became convinced that no one was going to be able to do it better than her.

The music was pretty good too.. 2 songs are definitely going into my playlist because I can't get enough of them. And the background music was funny and new I liked it a lot.

If you don't mind the one story per episode type of dramas this is perfect for you.
And even if you're like me I think you'd find it pretty decent to watch too so give it a try.

This drama started out a bit slow but pretty good actually, I loved the idea of the undateables.. It had sooo much potential, it reminded me of American romcom movies (the movie hitch for example).
I started binge watching it so excitedly because I love the idea of fate and matchmaking.
I also fell in love with the lead actor (which is the first time I've seen him)
So overall I was enjoying it very much.. But unfortunately, it became into chaos..
They dropped the main idea of the drama and suddenly the leads fell in love with each other.. Not enough buildup whatsoever.

After that the drama became meh and the main leads story wasn't interesting anymore, I actually found the side characters were far more interesting.

I kept going because I wanted to see the end to the main idea, the matchmaking (the undateables) and the closure for their friends that's all.

The story really had so much to give but the writers just gave up. It started as a 7 but ended as a 5.. I gave it a 6.5 because I liked the idea.

The acting was good. Although I couldn't help but feel that the main lead actor didn't get much time as other characters.. It's the first time I saw something like this in kdaramas. I wish he had more depth and lines.

The osts were good but nothing worth remembering.

I wouldn't watch the whole drama again for sure. But I might watch the early episodes and some clips of it after a long time.

So overall only watch this if you don't care about the story and just want to watch the romantic comedy scenes :)

Short review
First of all I'd like to divide kmhm into 2 parts.
From ep1:7 and from 7:20

The first part was actually boring, it didn't grab my attention but I kept pushing myself due to all the great reviews about it... But I reached a point where I didn't care so I dropped the drama in the middle of the 6th episode for months.
When I got back to watching it again I decided to give it one more chance... And figured that I dropped it just when it was about to get better :D

So the first 6 episodes were meh like I said but the remaining episodes were so much better.. It got me hooked slowly then after 3 4 ep I was strongly addicted that I couldn't wait to find out what will happen next.

The second part was amazingly good that I was so mad at how the writers made me nearly drop it and miss watching this amazing story unfold.

The plot was amazing, all I could think while watching is how did they think of such a sad and beautiful story. They unfold it perfectly, every piece at a time (but after 6 eps of nothingness, unfortunately)

The acting was spectacular although during a few scenes I thought the actors were a little bit exaggerating but overall I didn't mind.

The osts were perfect I think this is the best plot music match I've seen in kdramas.

Overall I strongly suggest watching this... If you could bear the first episodes, you will find the story very beautiful and the wait well deserved. :)

First of all, I'd like to say that I'm crazy about Jo Jung Suk, so if you're a big fan of him go watch this right now >>>> you'll get to see him express all kinds of emotions in these 24 episodes, that you'll end up in love with him even more.

The story:
I read a review that said the story is messy but perfect kind of messy. I didn't understand this until I started watching this drama... I ended up finding it the perfect description for it.
There is a lot of side characters (which I usually hate) but for this drama, I loved each and every one of them.
The beginning is a bit slow but after a few episodes, you'll find yourself hooked to know what will happen next.
The romance is perfect. If you're a romance fan you'll be satisfied. I think this is the best love triangle of all the dramas I've seen.
The comedy... God the comedy was amazing, beyond perfect actually, I was laughing all the way from the 1st episode till the last moment (which doesn't happen easily)
It was so refreshing and new., I'll definitely remember it for a long time.

What I didn't like :
- There was no actual plot. It felt like I'm just living their daily Lives with them. It wasn't bad but it could've been better.
- Towards the end they gave up on some of the side stories, it bothered me a little but I got over it because there was a lot happening with the main story.
- They could've finished it in 20 ep (not 16 though) it would have been richer with events.

The acting was perfect. It was like Every actor was made for his character.
Jo Jung Suk is at his best. I fell in love with him all over again..he was perfect for this role and I don't think that there was someone who could do it as well as he did.

The music was wonderful. A big part of the drama was the music. It controlled your emotions during different scenes.
Without the music, it would have been a very sad drama so thank God.

Overall I strongly suggest you watch this if you don't mind the simple plot and a fan of romantic comedy.
