Beautiful
I don't know how else to describe this drama other than beautiful. This was an absolute joy to watch. Don't get me wrong, bring the tissues because it's a ride. But in the best way. This one is for everyone that dreamed of moving to a small town/village to find friends so amazing they become your family. The story - amazing. Lovely. Heartbreaking. Thrilling. Funny. It's somehow everything all at once. You will be crying and laughing at the same time.
The acting - truly amazing. Some of the best I've seen, and I've seen a lot. The characters are flawed in such a way that makes them feel real. I would move to this town in a heartbeat.
I usually don't review right away, but I really couldn't wait with this one~~~♡

Unwhelming
If I had to describe this drama in one word, it would be underwhelming. The premise is great and the first couple episodes are also great, it was moving fast, and then nothing happens for 13 more episodes. I'm not kidding. You could watch the first episodes and the last one and nothing in the story would change. Sure there are some comedic bits and some very minor misunderstandings but there is no actual conflict that needs to be resolved until the very last episode. And the minor issues that do occur, the female lead doesn't even know about them because the male lead is constantly treating her like a child and not telling her anything. The female lead is great. She has a lot of charisma, is independent, and goes for what she wants. The male lead and the second male lead are 2 of the most boring characters I've ever seen. It got to a point where I was thinking, no matter which one she ends up with I don't care either way. None of them deserve this queen. Also, the fact that he is 1000 years old usually isn't an issue for me. I'm weird and I like that kind of theme but ugh they kept pressing the fact that he was old, and constantly comparing him to an old man it was so CREEPY. And it really doesn't help that he was constantly lying and withholding information from the female lead. It really gave me weird abusive vibes similar to real relationships when the man is too old and takes advantage of a young woman.
I'm guess more than anything, I'm just disappointed. I feel like with this kind of theme they had free rein to do whatever they want and instead they gave us the bare minimum.
I would not recommend unless you are very new to dramas.

Laughably mediocre. Lacks story and chemistry
I don't know where to begin with this mess. So I married the anti-fan was so mediocre that I almost wish it was just bad so I could have an easy explanationfor my distaste for this drama. It's pretty clear that this was a hot mess and most likely the reason it was put on production hold for 2+ years. If you would have told me this series was made in 2008 I would believed you because it really feels out of date and badly written, produced, acted, all of it, drama. The premise was great. Enemies to lovers, easily done right? Only... They somehow managed to mess that up and make it extremely boring. There is next to no chemistry between the 2 leads until 2/3 way through, and when it is presented it feels very forced because its out of nowhere. The music, I can't even describe how hilariously bad. At one point I paused because I realized they were playing horrid out of tune music with a recorder. As in, the exact same music that is played badly on purpose for memes O_O Even when the main lead plays his music it's bad. And we're expected to believe this man is the #1 idol? There's no way. When he sings (which is only 2 scenes in the entire show) he just stands there and has a couple dancers behind him. I kept pausing to laugh. Theres no way this mediocre man is the #1 idol. Not with idol standards, and I'm very sorry to say... but not with that face. It's just not believable.
Besides all that, the storytelling is all over the place too. The second leads are somehow very dramatic and very boring at the same time. They spend each episode rehashing the same thing and I honestly had no idea if I was supposed to support their relationship or not because they were so toxic for no reason.
Would I recommend? Not unless you want to waste 16+ hours of your life.

What "my ID is Gangnam Beauty" tried to accomplish, True Beauty succeeded
The first half of this drama felt like one of those guilty pleasure dramas that don't necessarily have the best story, are usually cliché, but they still make you giggle incessantly. Somewhere around the middle mark is when it hits you that the story really is just about a girl wearing makeup, and her having to constantly get out of a situation that could show her real face. Drama which could all be avoided if she just put on makeup before she left the house.I am not saying this is a bad drama. What I mean to say is that it's very one-dimensional, but that that's what actually makes it good! That is until the episodes go by, and you're nearing the end, and you realize they NEED to add some drama because there hasn't been that "big" problem yet which needs to be solved. And as predicted they added the most unnecessary drama, and also decided to push the love triangle that should have been solved long ago.
Besides that, the acting was good. Ga Young was brilliant. The way she carried herself differently with makeup and bare-face was really amazing. It almost felt like 2 different characters, and I think that was an intentional choice. She is stiff and nervous in makeup because that is not her. Then, when she removes the makeup she is relaxed and outgoing.
Cha EunWoo.... uhh. How do I put this nicely? If you took his character from my ID is Gangnam Beauty and related it with this, there would be absolutely no change to the story. They are the same person. I dont know if this was intentional, but it made for unavoidable comparisons throughout the whole series. The character was painfully boring. I began referring to him as "white bread" after just a few episodes. He has a pretty face. That's it, that's the character.
In Yeop. Oh boy. It is really rare that I get "second-lead syndrome", and I had it BAD. I won't go into detail, but if SuHo is white bread, Seojun is tiramisu.
In conclusion, do I recommend? Yes, if you enjoy cliché drama that would almost never happen in real life (and I do). Would I watch it again? Maybe, but I would skip the last couple episodes.

That being said, this drama is simply beautiful from start to finish. The main love story developed in a very real and honest way, and all the friendships that formed were so moving. I laughed, I cried, I fell asleep and dreamed of the characters. I can't wait to watch it all over again.

Obviously in dramas there are always going to be scenes or plots that are a little questionable, but this drama was so riddled with plot holes that I'm convinced it must be satire. You really need to take it all with a grain of salt otherwise you'll just pull apart every scene with reasons why it makes no sense and not be able to enjoy it. It felt like I was watching a children's cartoon come to life because it was just so absurd.
Also, every plot felt rushed. They would introduce a new problem, and then 30 seconds later it was solved and they were on to something else. Every single episode played out this way.... It was very strange.
I sound like I'm taking a dump on this drama but I'm really not, because all of these reasons that make it bad also strangely... Make it good? I can't imagine this being in anyone's top 5, but this drama is a wild ride and definitely worth the watch.

The story? There basically was none. Pretty much everything that happens in the drama is written in the description for this drama...
I also feel I need to point out that this drama seems to be being praised left and right for apparently having a strong message, but it completely fails to deliver when it has multiple product placement ads for weightloss tools such as real diet pills and drinks. What a joke.

Seo Kang Joon's acting was absolutely phenomenal. He played both parts so well that it actually felt like two different people. His entire body language changed between both characters. I was also very impressed with Park Hwan Hee who I've never seen before. I hope she gets a leading role soon because she really deserves it.
Although the storyline is nothing new, this drama really made it fresh. There were also quite a few twists that I did not see coming.
The music was good, but could have been better in my opinion. There was nothing really memorable about any of the songs, but I guess that's also a good thing because they didn't stand out too much and take away from the story.
Rewatch value 10/10 for sure. I would watch it again right now... If my plan to watch list wasn't so long.

The story was very original. What kind of a person thinks to match up a 400+ year old alien with a Hallyu star? I don't know but they are wizards or something because their chemistry is like magic.
The acting was also great! I wouldn't expect less from Kim Soo Hyun. That boy knows how to deliver. Jeon Ji Hyeon was also amazing. I've only seen her in a few things but I'm definitely a fan now.
The music was good. It didn't really stand out from other drama music, but it definitely fit very well into the scenes.
I would definitely rewatch this. And then rewatch it again.

The story, although very original, gives you a warm sense of familiarity. Everyone can relate to a story about first love.
The acting was outstanding. By far greater then I ever expected. I found myself at times screaming at the screen in disbelief. I probably used an entire half of a tissue box alone watching this.
I would rewatch this any time. Probably multiple times. And it's one of those movies that you don't have to be into Asian movies to see the beauty of. I recommend it to anyone.
take care ^^

Once i got past all the comparing, i realised this is actually a pretty good drama on its own. The music was amazing, as expected. And the last episode i was pretty sad to see it end.

The story is pretty straightforward and the acting is well done. I really enjoyed the fact that the female lead was such a strong independent character. She did anything and everything to get her way and never took no for an answer.
There were a few things i didn't like such as the actual 'romance' completely lacking between the two leads.. They barely have any screen time alone, and other then the fact that she needed him to save her life, they didn't seem to even like each other very much :/
Overall I thought it was a pretty good movie. Definitely worth it to watch it.

This drama has everything you would expect from and Asian drama AND more. It's all i thought about for days, I literally dreamt of the characters when i slept.
The story, although it is appears to be a stereotypical 'good girl meets bad boy' theme, is actually far more deeper then that. The girl wasn't always so reserved, and the boy wasn't always such a womanizer. It really touches upon the consuming physiological problems that tragedy can create. Its normal to see the male lead 'change' throughout the drama and become a better person while falling in love with the female lead, but it is extremely rare to see both characters changing so much; together.
The acting was amazing. That's to be expected with Barbie and Vic. I laughed and i cried with these characters. I felt their heartbreak as much as my own.
Its the rare kind of drama that gets better with each passing episode, and at the end you just wish you could watch it all over again with new eyes.
I would recommend this to anyone.
