Starts off addicting...

As many have mentioned, this drama was drawn out for TOO long. It starts off quite addicting with our FL getting cheated on and walking barefoot, for who knows how long... and bumping into our ML.

It starts off addicting, and remains addicting because our two leads. They have great chemistry, and so many hot kissing scenes. But the remaining of the drama ends as a let down due to the draggy plots and extra-ness with our side characters. Like, did we really need to see Qin Qing and Wu San go back and forth at the marriage certificate office. -_-

By the time the drama ended, I was GLAD. I love Dili but whoever books her projects, they need help. Some of her projects are GREAT but this one fell short.

I knew I was going to love this drama because after TMOPB, I literally binged watched all of Dilireba's costume dramas! So I was immediately excited when they announced they were doing a sequel with our favorite leads. Just to preface, I have never read the novels for this story. But overall, I enjoyed this drama. I enjoyed the song that Dilireba sang too!

There are three arcs for our leads. BFJ as a fox lingering in Early Dawn palace following around DH. BFJ and DH goes to the mortal realm (I thought that part was SOOO long), and lastly BFJ and DH end up in a A'lanrou's dream. Each one tests their relationships and you watch as their relationship blossoms. In TMOPB you only see parts of the first two arcs, but this one dives more into details and shows more (of course). I did think that the last two episodes were VERY rushed, as it was their wedding date and of course DH had to go save the world. FJ misunderstands and leaves and goes lives in the mortal realm with their kid for three years. She comes back to Nine Heavens because Ye Qingti is about to be revived and magically they make up. Although, I was feeling MEH ending, I did love the acting and chemistry between Dilireba and Vengo. I'm sure because they were part of Jaywalk studios they have acted with each other before, their chemistry was sizzling. I was so excited with DJ finally falls for FJ, and he just loves on her. Apparently, there's rumors that they're even dating.

A lot of people have mentioned that Angel Liu (Ji Heng) bought the rights to this drama, and wanted to be FJ but faced backlash so they kind of re-wrote the drama for her as Ji Heng and gave her more screen time (we didn't ask for that). Her character was annoying, but she wasn't the psycho lover like Su Jin. It seemed like they wanted to make her villainous, but kind of watered it down or got bored w/ it. This drama actually lacks a Su Jin if it makes you feel better. No one really plotted heavily against our FJ, or took her eyes.

They did mix up our cast a little. We got one Yang Mi cameo (it was meh!). Zhe Yan and our 4th Uncle have transformed into beautiful young male leads - although it was different, I liked it! I liked that they brought back some of the original characters such as 3rd Prince Song Lian, Si Ming and the Bai Family. I wish they showed more of the other realms, as in TMOBP they showed other realms like the Eastern Sea family and more gods and goddesses. Another thing was was funny was Wayne Liu's character, as he did have a role in TMOPB. He was re-casted as a demon lord, Yan Chiwu. Yan Chiwu was probably one of my favorite side characters, and makes references to his "twin" brother who was Mo Yuan's 16th disciple. It would have been funny if he bumped into his twin XD --- But did anyone remember that in TMOPB the demon princess's name was also YAN Zhi, so they share the same surname. Anyways.....

Overall, this drama was good. It wasn't as good in terms of drama and seeing the love build up as TMOPB. The trials that DJ and FJ went through didn't really hit me as hard as TMOPB. I just thought that BQ and YH went through way more compared to DJ and FJ. And maybe it falls on FJ's personality, she was always naive and kiddy-like. I felt even when she had her kid, she didn't truly mature. And maybe if they didn't white-wash the roles, it would have been more "drama." I mean, they could have done more with Zhi He's character (did they forget she was evil b*tch in Ashes of Love)? But, I understand they did re-write this script to give more screen time to Angel Liu. Maybe there's an original script out there, that could have done 100% better and give us angsty/heartbreak drama that we all wanted.

I started watching Yanxi Palace mostly because I saw that Charmaine Sheh was starting to make the move over to mainland China productions. I grew up on TVB and HK dramas, so of course I'm her fan!

Just like the parent story, I'm not familiar with MANY of the actors in this drama either. But it was a cute/CRAZY follow up to the parent story. I actually thought Rain Wang looked so SIMILAR to Qin Lan (Fuca Rongyin)!

This drama was a huge twist though, from Zhao Hua having some sort of "mental" issues, and then Fu Kang'an being led astray buy his uncle. The story was just so intense and sort of closed some of the loose threads we had from the parent story.

The only qualm I had was this drama was too short! I liked the shenanigans and I felt it was a bit rushed.

This drama started off so hilarous/funny. I loved the way Ningzhi played the typical damsel-in-love in the beginning chasing around Wei Guang. But as you can see from the comments/spoilers that things will get serious, and I thought I would hate this drama as it seemed to be going in the direction of Yanxi Palace, but nope. The plot twist at the end left me satisfied.

I love this cast, I think they were all cast well. The story flowed, and as mentioned I thought it was pretty good. There were a lot of plot twists and scenes that gave me anxiety. I haven't binged watch a drama like this in a while, where I was not skipping scenes.

Overall, I likeable drama.

Let me start off by saying I did not know about the historical aspects of the Dugu until watching this drama. They were a intriguing bunch!

I really enjoyed this drama due to Ady and Jeremy, and Dugu dad. I thought the other main characters, were "OK" their stories didn't really hold up the drama. If there was no Banrou I don't think this drama would have scored so high. The reason why I liked Ady and Jeremy so much was because their characters were so electrifying and so toxic at the same time. I was literally curious just to see their outcome, but it was cut short. Sadly. The rest of the drama, I skipped through all the war scenes. But they tried to keep some of the historical parts accurate by showing the kids descending to the throne and what not, to fulfill the "Dugu prophecy."

I would give this drama a try. I ended up enjoying Jialou's character grow, it was sad that she eventually did get sucked into the palace intrigue life after all.

I love Zanilia and William, and how cute that they are now married and pregnant!

This drama isn't very "action packed" if you're looking for Zanilia to do stunts like you've seen her do in Princess Agents. It's more like Lu Zhen if anything, she can speak her way out of any issues! This one is not really "palace intrigue" but details the life of a middle-class (can you even classify them as that?) and their struggles with rankings (Main wife, 2nd wife, 3rd wife, etc) and their children's struggles trying to "find their place." Sadly, Ming Lan grows up in a house where her mom is a lower-ranked wife/mistress and they are not treated nicely by the main and 2nd wives. There is a lot of plotting from the mothers down to the daughters!

The romance part of the drama doesn't really kick in right away, but we pretty much root from Zanilia & William since they're kids (well I did!). It doesn't get lovey-dovey until the end where he claims his love for her. But still so intriguing to watch it from beginning to end.

Overall, I liked this drama and I thought they were cast so well to play a couple!

I really liked this drama. It had a great plot, great cast, and like-able characters.

The main thing that turned me off from this drama was the constant sacrificing the two main characters had for each other, well actually what everyone had for each other in this drama it felt like. But it was too repetitive. There's not a lot of tear-jerking scenes (in my opinion) and angst.

The only cast member I was familiar with in this drama is Yang Zi, she did great in Ashes of Love. I felt this role was very similar. She seems to be testing out her range with this drama because there are a lot crying/screaming scenes (although I did not feel touched by her scenes).

End note: I thought it was interesting there were two alternative endings.

I love me some Jackie Chan movies, and especially now that there is such amazing advances in technology. The cinematography in this drama is captivating. The movie is set during the time Japan is taking over a lot of Asia. Thank goodness this drama is not as gory as other movies I've seen set during the same time. Jackie has his own little gang of train robbers, and they happen to rescue a Chinese soldier, who tells them about his last (suicide) mission. The gang takes into their hands to help the Chinese fulfill their mission (you know patriotism!!). They do crazy antics like trying to rob C4 from a Japanese military base, and totally F#@$ the train in order to fulfill the mission.

I really love the cast in this drama. They did a great job casting, I thought the actors were so diverse (they all weren't pretty/kawaii, but there is a lot of eye candy). I also though the chemistry between all the actors was amazing. I bet it must have been amazing for all the young actors to work with Jackie. :D

Overall, great movie. The plot was great and interesting, the acting was good. There was a nice balance between seriousness & comedy. Also the fighting scenes were pretty intense, even with them using guns and a tank ON A TRAIN!!! The CGI at the end was sucky, but that was my only complaint.

This is one of the first dramas I have EVER watched. Growing up in the 90's, my mom would buy these box-sets that were dubbed into Vietnamese. To this day, I can recite the themesong in both Cantonese and Vietnamese!

The plot/storyline is the same as other LOCH, but the acting and the cast is SUPERB here. It is/was pretty much the all-star cast of TVB at the time, all the actors from the main characters to minor roles are familiar faces. I also believe the chemistry between our leads were so well acted out. If you can get past the low-quality (c'mon we have HD TVs now), and the older quality CGI, this is a great version of LOCH.

Besides the acting the martial arts in here is amazing. I believe that many of the actors back in the famous HK day dramas, were required to learn some type of martial arts, so the the martial arts you see is on point.

To this day, this will always be my favorite drama. I wish I had easy access to this drama on the internet, but I'll always rewatch on DVD!

Wow, what a long but awesome drama! I love Zanilia in here, her acting is very versatile and this drama shows true range in her abilities (she’s not a zombie w/ no emotions).

This drama was addictive from beginning, but the last three episodes had me like MEH. Anyways, the store is about Lu Zhen who is her father’s first daughter, but is mistreated by her step mother. Her skills in helping the family business, makes her step mother & uncle jealous so they plot against her to get rid of her. While on the run, she bumps into Prince Gao Zhan, who’s stepmom is ALSO plotting against him he is the emperor’s favorite son. Both of them lose their fathers, and is framed for killing their father. However, Gao Zhan is able to find evidence he is not responsible, but by then his brother had already been thrust onto the throne. Their journey, is Lu Zhen working her way up from a palace maid to become a 6th rank official, to re-address her father’s murder and seek justice (and mishaps along the way).

This drama had so much romance and lovey-dovey between Lu Zhen and Gao Zhan. Both actors were fantastic, and had great chemistry. I haven’t seen Zanilia in another drama because CDYY that is THIS lovey-dovey, and the two leads match and look cute together. The ending was a happy ending. My only gripe is how many times they have a falling out, relationships right? I do love how faithful Gao Zhan and Lu Zhen were to one another. Gao Zhan rejected so many ladies for her.

The bad guys in here are endless. The Empress Dowager (Gao Zhan’s step mom) is such a evil bee-yotch. The whole time she’s blaming Gao Zhan and Xiao Huanyun for her son Gao Yan’s downfall/demise, but it was her own!!! Shen Ah Bi, is also another ruthless, mean girl but got bit by karma in the end. She was a hopeless romantic for Gao Zhan, but he already had someone else on his mind.

The side characters are so cute. I love Dan Niang, as she loves to EAT. She’s a cute character, wish she had a better ending for herself.

Overall, great drama. It’s not historically accurate. I looked up both Gao Zhan and Lu Zhen’s character, and in real life they were bad guys!

I am not a 100% where to stand on this drama. The storylines are very convoluted. There seems to be TOO much at times, now that I’m thinking about it. I liked some parts, but other parts seemed unnecessary. I wanted to fast forward and get all the scenes of Zanilia and William Chan together, but then I would have missed a lot. A lot of the scenes of them together were heart breaking, there wasn’t ever a part where they BOTH accepted each other’s love, it was either, one was wanting more and the other one was hesitant. BOO. I thought the other love lines (or arcs) were so sad too, almost no one ends up together.

Cast is really good though, probably because Cecilia and Nicky Wu had hook ups as they were producing this drama? We got Nicky on the cast, Zanilia Zhao, William Chan, Gao Vengo is in here for a quite a bit. I’m not really familiar with the other female actors, but they were cute.

This drama was so lengthy, I most likely would not watch it again. I would recommend watching this if you like Zanilia which is what I’ve been doing lol.

Wow. I stumbled upon this drama by mistake and it turned out to be a good one!

The first part revolves around Su Huan Er/Yang Yi Liu. YYL is also a daughter of the Su Manor but because her mother ran away and left her behind as a newborn, her father and his family treats her like shit. Su Huan Er and her mom (Yu Niang) pretty much are her own family. When Shi Wu Ji and his brothers from Ao Long Bao find clues leading to the demise of their family, back to Su Manor they announce an engagement and request Huan Er. However, Huan Er doesn't want to be forced so she runs away and falls off a cliff. YYL takes her place and the drama continues, but does she fulfill her father's wishes or becomes a good wife?

This drama is cute. The acting, cast, plot is very enjoyable. I liked the romance between our two leads. The moments before they fall in love is adorable and quite comedic. Huan Er/YYL and Shi Wu Ji are just so cute together, and such relationship goals. They both love each other, wholeheartedly and even sacrifice their happiness at times than admit their feelings are hurt. Their love gave me such anxiety because of their fights, and how they would push each other away when you know they both love and yearn for one another.

I also like the whole being filial vs finding your own happiness, that Huan Er goes through. It really makes you think about what female lead should do.

Overall the ending is good with most of our characters finding true love. And in the end Shi Wu Ji finds out there's another's killer on the lose, and I assume it'll be part two when they find out who it is.

Wow, this was a very interesting movie because some parts is in different languages. I thought the plot was interesting and when I found out it was based on a true event, I was even more surprised!  As mentioned above in the synopsis, the story is based on a group of narcotic agents from China trying to take down a druglord from SE Asia. Their mission pushes them to go undercover, to track down these elusive drug dealers.

The action scenes pretty much make up this entire movie. It's very action packed with guns, explosions, and stunts.

The acting in this drama is pretty good. I also liked how diverse the cast is. I pretty much watched this for Eddie Peng (lol). His role was very diverse, where he switched between chinese and english. He also had funny costume changes. Besides him, I loved the dog that was also an agent.

When they say slow burning love, believe it.

Although 10 episodes were cut, I thought it was still great. This drama had amazing cinematography, music, light hearted moments, anxiety driven moments, great chemistry and offered us a happy ending.

I haven't cried with a drama in a long time, and yes I tend to cry where there are daddy issues.... Lol. But I cried with this drama. I cried when they lost their loved ones, I cried when the characters reconciled with each other, I cried during the happy moments. I cried when family members made up. It was perfect.

I can't stop watching this. The music is beautiful, the set/scenery is beautiful, the acting is phenomenal, and the story is captivating.  The love stories in this drama are so touching, I shed a few tears watching this. I loved the main leads, Bai Qian and Ye Hua eventually finding each other is so touching. I also loved the little side love story involving Feng Jui and Dong Ha.I also love how interwoven the cast is, I love how some scenes are so comical and some just make you melt.

Definitely a great drama. The story follows Bai Qian, who is part of the Fox tribe (they have a strong hold among the immortal clans). She is quite a naughty youngster so her family friend, High Immortal Zhe Yan, sends her to Kun Lun to learn martial arts and good behavior from High Immortal Mo Yuan (also played by Mark Chao). Bai Qian is then transformed into a young male fox diety, Si Yin.  There are quite a few "love" plots that follow Bai Qian/Si Yin. Si Yin gets involved in a love story with prince of darkness, but it ends when her teacher passes away due to his father. Bai Qian dedicates her life to trying to restore her teacher's spirit, but ends up going into a heavenly trial as a mortal SuSu. SuSu meets Ye Hua, the imperial grandson and crown prince of Heavenly Lord's tribe. Upon, returning from her heavenly trial she descends to a high god but cannot handle the torment she goes through, so she erases her memory and goes into seclusion. Ye Hua also cannot get over his love for SuSu and tries to restore her spirit. Their love proves time and time again, that they're meant to be. I think it's cute because Bai Qian originally met Ye Hua but he was in the form of a golden lotus growing in Kunlun mountains, so it's like "fate" wants them to be together, but they always almost "misses" each other.

Overall, great cast and plot. One of my all-time favorites.
