The female lead in this is not your normal fragile, lead you will find your self swearing at her. That Bi**ch, you will say. But you will understand her and you shall love her just like the male lead. She gets under people's skin. To be frank I would recommend this drama just because it is refreshing
When you are told you do not belong, simply insert yourself and fit in you shall. That is the lesson in this drama probably. The drama has a lot of other mottos so to say. Life is not fair, Justice is wielded by connections and the best lawyer. Everyone in this drama is greedy (Worry not this is not a Makjang). What can I gain from you was the qn in this drama. What i liked most was the male lead aka moo myong, he was not the normal obnoxious type that kdramas normally have. this drama didn't drag so many things, a problem appeared, a problem disappear immediately after a short while.. also there were no stupid cliched misunderstandings. it was straight forward However the plot wasn't as strong.and it also relied so much on eavesdropping, i bet the writers were like thank god for thin walls otherwise nothing would have moved forward in this drama. other than that this drama as amazing, the character development was amazing, they slowly changed little by little and with reason not drastically. also the romance could have been stronger, and the father son relationship could have been more emotional. i would give it a 10 but that ending was just, ah ah no..

Before i say wow great cast, i will point out what a great story this is, a story that lucks all k drama clichés, seriously if you saw any unnecessary clichés tell me, the acting was spotless, chemistry between the characters. as or the graphics were just wow. this is the first drama where, when it is night and its dark with no light, its actually dark, dark enough that u really see there is no light yet you can see clearly, it lucked all the common k drama mistakes in fact i might go back and re-rate all the dramas i have seen before basing them on this one, and the cast was perfect,not to forget who ever directed it did a great job. The timing of events,laughing in one second and having your jaw drop in the next, yeah thumbs up who ever the writer was,and yes cant wait for next season

having not watched the older version, not that i didnt try watching it but the graphics where too horrible so i skipped to this one, so for me, this is it, at first this drama was rainbows and unicorns a lot of laughing and the villain wasnt that evil yet, i even overlooked the cheesiness between Er kang and Zi wei that gave me goosebumps seriously blaaaah, but i still love that the whole drama wasnt centered around the love interests of one person ,it kept me entertained so much so that by the second i was like what? how did i get through half of it, and remember it is 98 EPS!! yeah still cant believe i finished it without dropping it for few days to think of a new reason to watch it again, however one thing i know XYZ didnt belong in the palace boy was she clumsy and staff, i loved it because i cant really criticize it since its a comedy .....well most of it, before it got serious on me, but XYZ still managed to make me laugh therefore i loved because it was funny and i would totally re-watch the first 93 episodes

Despite all the frustration that this drama has brought me due to the main character loving people like loving food today this kind, tomorrow that kind,i have one word DONG FANG BU BAI, if every character was as strong willed and dint need saving all the time like her umm.. him? her? okay her. dramas would be miles away, she had charisma,my god she was awesome, she is the only reason i kept on watching,well her and the cool kung fu, the actress who portrayed dong fang bu bai is really good seriously she had me hooked in the very first episode little did i know of the disappointment to come, the story was fine, just that the ending was too rushed but i highly recommend this drama , half of it at least.

one thing loved the chemistry,and acting and they actually had love that was expressed in more than stares and those famous back hugs. this was a combination of The Glamorous Imperial Concubine and the perfect couple only these two were somewhat better,for me at least.but i still loved it and enjoyed watching it, but i mostly loved the first half of it and would rewatch it up to there,because the main leads where steaming up.
FLAWS(may contain spoilers):with wu jis character traits he fell in love too fast,perfect couple did it well.
i mean you wouldnt fall in love with someone who u believe is your enemy that fast, he also became gullible and changed too fast, even lang ling wang Gao chang gong was not this softened(he was but in a normal way) and he loved yang xia woo like hell.
it kind of went off track and became a match making drama really, i mean too many impossible love affairs.but aside from that totally recommend it
