Sexual tension, laughter and change from reality to fantasy from the first to the last frame

What would happen if you are in love with your roommate, but you don't dare to declare your feelings because he has a girlfriend and because, like you, he is a boy?
If you had a friend or the possibility of consulting an oracle or a fortune teller, you would surely ask them for advice and they would suggest that you forget about it, that you put an end to it and move to another room, or that you be honest with him and yourself and tell him. You will confess your love in the hope of being reciprocated.
But what if you decide to ignore them and, instead, you let the fantasy escape and every situation in which you get involved with your bedroom partner you daydream and recreate all kinds of homoerotic encounters in your imagination?
Jung Jen Pao and Tony Shih, the directors of the LGBT+-themed Taiwanese romantic comedy pilot miniseries 'RoomMatch Series Pilot' (Room Match Series, Lai Tong G Ba, Lai Tung G Pa, 来同G吧), are new filmmakers who Between October and November 2022 they released the first three episodes trying to find the funds to make the complete series.
Following the classic sitcom patterns, but without the applause of the audience in the recording studio, 'RoomMatch Series Pilot' is a fresh miniseries, full of clichés and stereotypes but funny.
The premise is simple and effective: Joey (Yu Hao Chen) is a foolish and innocent student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at HTU and shares a dormitory with Dick (Jung Jen Pao, who in addition to directing also writes the script), who is an assistant to teaching of Mechanical Engineering. Dick loves to bother Joey and invade his privacy, which creates problems and tension between the two. However, something happens that causes their relationship to change.
The entanglements between the dorm mates, the tangible chemistry, the sexual interactions, the growing sexual tension, the change from reality to fantasy, the dynamic expectation versus reality, and between jokes recreating numerous homosensual and hilarious scenes, such as the reaction to being kissed by someone who has just vomited, they end up working and the chapters, very short, are fun and leave you wanting more.
Those who enjoy youth and university scenarios and coming-of-age and coming-out can bet on this miniseries, which is also a fun exploration of youth from the confusion of sexual awakening and the problems of coexistence of two people. very opposite in a student residence.
With a constructive narrative, tight script, incredible cinematography and production, fun music, solid performances, good direction, to which small animated segments are incorporated, the miniseries opens debate on the theory of the vibe of love or the mechanics of love and becomes a very realistic portrait of "somewhat strange" roommates.
One of the comedies with the most viewers on YouTube in the last year and a half since its premiere, and I can't explain why it hasn't found the necessary funds to continue developing the events and characters until achieving a broader and more ambitious series.
There are few things more grateful than clicking the "Next episode" button on a good comedy and romantic series after a day of hard work or study. And 'RoomMatch Series Pilot' gets it done from the first frame to the last.

This review may contain spoilers

Contains spoilers and this is going to be unpopular opinion I guess

I know my review is going to be unpopular opinion but here it goes.
Almost all characters in this show is flawed and that is good in a way as we all humans are but I personally like drama where even if people are flawed, they realize things and change their way and there is growth and redemption in someway. Below are the things which is felt about the show and characters:
1. Knocks character: Knock has girlfriend but he goes drinking with two girls and Korn and initiates kissing with a girl but then both Korn and Knock are drunk and end up having sex but Knock is angry at Korn like he committed crime? They both were drunk, so it was equal fault but for him to act like it was all Korn’s mistake was getting on my nerves. His girlfriend doesn’t know what he is allergic to while all his friends know, Utah is a huge red flag and then he says it was Korn’s fault for treating her badly? Seriously dude, use some of the brain cells. Text her and tell. “COMMUNICATE”. She is different infant of instagram camera and offline, red flag and even after people telling that, he still does not understand and notice that? She does not spend time with him at all, red flag? She says she is coming at 5 but doesn’t show up till 7 so can’t he “message” her and tell hey it’s 7 and you are not here so I am leaving? Why on earth doesn’t he see all these red flags? WHERE THE HELL IS COMMUNICATION IN THIS RLEATIONSHIP or his relationship with Korn??? He has girlfriend but he kisses and sleep with Korn but then he hurts him again? Why on earth CHEATING is okay? It’s okay if you are confused, just be honest with both go them!! Even if Plren is mentally unstable person, you need to be honest in relationship!!
2. Korn character: He is comfortable with himself, straight-forward and honest. When Knock asked about Mew he told directly, no beating around the bush. He is flirty with Knock but he doesn’t cross the line. He confessed to Knock but he did no make a move until he Knock himself kissed first. Why is Korn with Knock when he doesn’t reciprocate his love and trust him and why is he going behind someone who doesn’t love him the way he wants to be loved?
3. Plern, Prae, Mikki character: Ladies, get a life. So clingy and pathetic. Plern is such a double faced character and manipulative and why on earth is she clingy to Knock? I still do not get it. If she want’s relationship only on the instagram then why can’t she find someone else? She doesn’t know her boyfriend is allergic to shrimp? She would have killed him. Even Yihwa being a friend knows that. How can someone “STEAL” an adult grown man? Dman, these languages in the show needs to change as people in real life also imitate and seek this way. And Prae changing her love interest from Farm to Bright? I am like seriously?!?!?! Mikki: girl get a life. You can’t stalk people!!! Not legal!! What Plern did with the “serum” is fraud but no legal action for that? All the stalking, manipulation and creepy ways to hurt people and at the end they are all still okay? I mean I know this happens in real life too but still you would want to see some justice.
4. Farm-Bright relationship: Don’t even get me started on that. My blood boils. I do not feel comfortable when there is Rape/non-consent and exploitation and abuse and assault and if I start to wrote about it, it’s going to be a huge article so I want to just say that Bright needs to be in jail and undergo therapy and reform himself and Farm needs to be in therapy to heal himself from the trauma.
5. Kavita-Phu relation: Phu, you need to take care of your mess? Why do people in this show, just push everything under the mat and not explain? He just left Mikki assume that Kavita was girlfriend based on photos and did not clear misunderstanding. He knows how things are causing issues for the lecture and still he doesn’t want to take care of his mess? He lied to her saying dropping out and kisses her? Seriously? There is no ACCOUNTABILITY in this show for lot of characters.
6. Yihwa: Solid female character, non-judgmental and supportive friend, extremely smart and without her, there wouldn’t be Korn-Knock. She is the kind of friend everyone should have in their life.
7. Fai: Again solid female character, smart, minds her business, good friend. We need more representation of character like Fai and Yihwa in all stories rather than Plern kind.
8. Plot wasn’t the usual damsel in distress or one of the BL couple needs to be more “soft” or “feminine” to be in the relationship. It was refreshing to see that change
9. Chemistry between Korn and Knock was really good and the intimate scenes were not awkward like some other BL series where you as a viewer start feeling uncomfortable because the actors aren’t comfortable.
10. Overall bad to okayish storyline. Acting and music was good.

I hate that most shows (BL/non-BL) start to normalize forceful kisses/sex/physical intimacy when it is clearly assault and rape or normalize stalking behavior or lying or cheating to fall in “love” or go behind someone who doesn’t love you the way you to be loved. You expect the other person to change but that won’t happen because they are being themselves and then the issues in relationship starts. Also no communication and trust is like a main theme everywhere.
Why can’t there be a show where people show communication skills between couples, trust, honesty and consent which portrays what a healthy relationship should look like.

The trend of Korean beauty is quite disturbing in this drama. However I came here for Ahn Hyo.He was super cool. Reminds me of Chanyol from exo!!!!!! He should have more lead roles. Other than the male lead everything was a wast of time.

A good show, but could be shorter and with less comedy

Vincenzo is definitely one of my favorite shows of the year. The main story is compelling and the acting is great. But I’m not the biggest fan of the comedic part of the show. I feel like those moments break the momentum too much. I feel like the show would have been even better with less episodes, probably something around 16. Also, the fact that the show was heavily spoiled to me might have lessened the overall effect. It took me months to finish it because of that.

It’s inevitable for me to compare Vincenzo with The Devil Judge, which was released after but I watched first. Both shows focus on revenge, have charismatic protagonists that are self proclaimed villains, punish people via “the law”, and there’s not much romance. Yet, I’d say both shows are very different. I enjoyed The Devil Judge more, since it’s shorter and with no comedy. But I probably would say Vincenzo Cassano is the best character of the year.

The cast was overall fantastic. All the main cast is outstanding, specially Taecyeon, Joong Ki and Yeo Jin. But, in my opinion, the best was Kwak Dong Yeon. Han Seo was probably the death that got to me the most and I loved all his scenes. I’m glad he was the key to defeat his brother in the end.

The Plaza gang was probably the weakest point in my opinion. I perceive them as a subplot to slow down the main story. I didn’t care about them until they finally started to be more useful by helping Vincenzo and Cha Young directly. The entire gold storyline was boring, too long and didn’t even have a good ending. Obviously, without the gold vault there would be no Vincenzo in Korea or a stablished place to put the Guillotine file. But for a plot that was stablished in the very start of the show, it didn’t go anywhere.

ABOUT IT

First, if you're not into slice of life genre, you won't love this drama. I love slice of life genres so I enjoyed it. The cast was beautiful and Bae Suzy gave it her best AGAIN. She acted so well. The ending made me sad tho. but oh well, it's life. Plus, this reminded me so much of ANNA (K-drama), I loved the romance, friendships, sadness, happiness and everything about this drama. I highly recommend They said my review must be 500 character but I don't know what else to talk about so I'll talk about the OST. It was nice and I sang along too but not too nice if you get what I mean. The reason why my re-watch value is rated 5.0 is because I find it hard to re-watch dramas sometimes so, don't get me wrong. It's a good drama to watch.

Lee Joon Gi is certainly the master action actor

How interesting is this. The finale for me fails to fire. Too many rushed ideas all at once without the background information. Lee Joon Gi is still fabulous in his role of Eunseom/Saya. But somehow the ending doesn’t strike the right cord for me. Arthdal carries on with Eunseom as the King but for me this part of the plot seems weak.

I still really enjoyed Arthdal Chronicles and have watched it several times already. I'm glad Eunseom and Tanya get their happy ever after but I'm sad for Saya. He got a bad deal all the way.

I have grown to like Saya. He has never been loved. He is a complicated person with deep seated hurts. Even the King tried to kill him and failed. Without his help Eunseom would not have been able to save Tanya. He has a certain charisma but also a ruthlessness about him but I believe that this is his survival mode. He has inferiority complex and doesn’t know that his carriage and presence is stunning. Now I'm waiting for the background about his celestial item "the mirror". Bring on the next series where we can watch our favourite action actor Lee Joon Gi stun us with his scintillating and breath-taking stunts and knock us out with powerful, mesmerizing and hypnotic countenance.

Comedic couple

Mr. Queen. Hye sun made my day with this drama. I laughed a lot and the way she portrayed herself as a man is excellent. I loved it!!! ??? And the king is another great actor too. I keep on imagining jin hyuk as his lt whenever they're together as couple and it has made my day!! ???

However the story plot is confusing and a rushed. I didn't know how their body merged as one. I didn't know how he got his body back. I feel like they rushed the story too much and they didn't give any answers as to how they merged as one and where did the real hye sun hide while jin hyuk takes over her body and the most important question!! Is jin hyuk gay now after going back to his own body??? ??? I'm really curious!!! ???

So, I'll at least give it an 8, since it made me laugh a lot.

Emotional, Wholesome, Real!

When I started watching Kdramas almost a year ago to the date, I never thought that I would find a drama that I would rate with a perfect 10, but here we are. Hospital Playlist was almost perfect in every aspect , and keep in mind I do not like medical dramas mainly because I find them unrealistic and exaggerated, but I loved how Hospital Playlist kept everything real and it makes you really understand the struggles of medical professionals.

Acting: Amazing. Never seen actors fit their roles so perfectly!
Character/ Cast Chemistry: Out of the World
Plot: Emotional, Wholesome, Real!

I can see as to why some people why find it boring, but I found it very refreshing! Grown-up people acting mature, facing real life problems and going on with their lives. Each episode was almost 1,5 h long but it felt much less. All the character has a reason and fit each other and the story perfectly, not a single one of them feels out of place. At first it was overwhelming getting introduced to all the characters but as the episodes go by then each character gets center stage, and you get to know and connect with them and by the end you are emotionally invested in each one of their lives and stories.

If all you look in a series is Action, angst, drama and with a good guy wins over a villain, then this is definitely not for you, but if you are looking for a drama with real people, real stories that will make you feel a every emotion emotion and laugh wholeheartedly then this is definitely for you.

This mystery drama simply doesn't work. Watch it by heavily using 'skip' button to squeeze some entertainment out of it.

The most fascinating thing about this drama is that one could almost see a drama it was aiming to be. On paper, everything seems to be built for success. There is female main character who is devoid of empathy, yet, drawn towards violent crimes. Her self-righteous 'hard-boiled' colleague mistrusts her while the sensitive police consultant and profiler, on the contrary, offers her his support and understanding. As the protagonist dispassionately digs deep into the human motivations behind the act of murder the viewers are offered a philosophical discussion on whether or not there is really any kind of divide between those who kill and those who do not.

Unfortunately, the drama does not work.

One could only guess at the motivations of the main character and her colleague as the performances of their respective actors are just too bad. Another actress could have given the main character a sympathetic side and could have made it easier to forgive how the mental condition is used as a cheap gimmick and a 'moe' point. Those who watched Dexter or South Korean Stranger would be baffled by this portrayal. The supportive cast is decent but has almost no screen time.

The story itself stretches suspension of disbelief beyond its limits. Starting from the first episode the audience is supposed to take for granted some outrageously unrealistic things. Coupled with the conflicts that are either stated but never shown or lost due to the abysmal performances, this makes the drama unwatchable.

Personally, I found two grains of brilliance in the wreckage of this show. Firstly, Hayashi Kento gives his all to play the sensitive police consultant. There are at least two scenes that his acting manages to make poignant despite all of the other stuff working against it. Secondly, the question about the difference between murderers and those who do not kill is very worthy of exploration (and apparently, Dostoevsky thought so too as he had written two renowned novels about it). Hayashi Kento is a perfect actor for the tortured character who ponders this question.

Watching this drama makes one to wistfully wish for a show worthy of Kento's performance and the philosophical question raised.

EEEKKKK

So for starters, I binged this cause I had no idea it existed until it was over. Of course, with how short the episodes are it didn't take long and I hate it! I need a S2 and a LOT longer eps lol YMMD is NOT all cute and fluffy. It'll put your in your feels with real life challenges from every direction. It's over all beautifully done and I'd definitely recommend to a newbie BL fan or a K-Drama fan in general. This show truly deserves all the love it's receiving. And don't even get me started on the visuals lol
Enjoy....

I guess the story has been done before, but I am pretty sure not like this. Usually movies rush over a good story line forgetting the interactions between character. In this movie the interaction between the leads was great. Great in a sense like it was how it was supposed to be. Not all mushy but kinda awkward. Good actors, too. The music was okay, I am usually not the type noticing the music. Well except of course when the lead had sang. She has a great voice and it was fun to hear the korean version of english songs.

I simply loved this movie. It is funny. it is sad. But most of all its inspiring. (Yes, its not really a "that could happen to anyone"-kinda story, but who cares? ^.^)

ANd I loved the ending.

Its simply perfect and the only one to bring across the message of the movie.

Oh, Its not really a love story about two characters falling in love but that's why this movie is so brilliant. Its more about...

well, you'll have to see for yourself.

To start with, the story is promising. Two young people striving to make it in the fashion world. The acting was okay. I think I expected too much from the storyline thinking about fashion but it is actually more of revenge and greed for power.
I think the last two episodes are a disappointment and felt it was rushed. They should have tied some loose ends and came up with a better ending.
I know there's a lot of the viewers including myself that were not too happy with it.
Overall, won't re-watch this again. I wasted my time. Sorry writers...come up with a better story next time.
