Got hooked on the show and binged it in a couple days. Although I don't regret watching it, the show was mediocre at best and the only reason I kept watching was because of the main couple's chemistry and cuteness. The show tried to mix a bunch of different genres together and did each one rather poorly, except for the romance. The huge plot twist that came halfway through the show really made me reconsider my decision to watch the show as I thought it was disgusting and frightening how they romanticized stalking and forced marriage. I just ignored that one part in order to continue the show and it definitely was a terrible addition to the plot that they honestly could have just left out. The kisses and cuteness of the main leads were the only things I truly enjoyed in this show and it made the series worth watching. Acting was pretty poor and none of the actors conveyed their emotions clearly to the audience. I was left confused during multiple parts of the show and I was frequently left cringing at the poor character portrayal and weak storyline. The antagonist of the show did a good job of making me hate his guts but the second time he came back I was also left thinking ????? The show had a good amount of humor which I enjoyed as well but its drama aspects were just poorly done. I may consider rewatching the cute, fluffy, romantic parts as they were the only scenes the actors truly did well on. The guy is cute so you'll at least have some eye candy to get you through the dumb parts of the series.

This drama was indeed healing. It was slow paced but it didn't feel draggy at all so I did not mind it. It took me almost a year to finish this drama but overall I really enjoyed it.
The characters were portrayed as realistic and mature and I really liked how there were no misunderstandings between the main leads and no cringey jealousy scenes. I also really liked Im Hui (Eun Seob's little sister) as she was pretty funny but loved her brother very much.
The aesthetics of this drama were so pretty and it made me want to live in a countryside in a village like this and to have a club devoted to books as well. :3

It's not a BL, it's a pre-relationship story, but it's a good story worth a one time watch

I wouldn't recommend it as a BL, I classify it as pre-BL because they did not actually move beyond being friends until the last few minutes of the show, not even through anything being implied or in subtext, as intended in Cn BLs. They were actually, genuinely just friends for 12 episodes then they confessed and it ended. Still, I would recommend it as a one time watch for anyone who likes a well written story tackling something different in a life drama series.

I had my hope for episode 11, however the ending was just okay. It's another J (not really BL) that I can't give a 10, not even a 9 really, just an 8, and basically just because it was a good production, well written with an interesting story and good acting, but I can't rate it a 10 because it wasn't actually a BL and that's a false lead I don't appreciate.

GOOD:
- Acting
- Casting
- Production Value
- OST
- Writing
- Pacing

BAD:
- It's in the wrong genre, this is not a BL. If you watch it with the wrong expectations, you'll be disappointed, if you watch it as a story about a disability with two guys who end up admitting their feelings for each other in the last 5 minutes of the show, you'll be better prepared.
- Feels like false advertising.

There is no UGLY in this, I don't regret watching it.

HIGHLIGHT:
- Kobayashi Toranosuke, quite a gem of an actor.

---

Side Note:
From my personal perspective a 'BL' like this -with no actual BL- is made for two reasons-
1. New actors need a show in which they can depict their acting range so they can get better and more main roles in the future
2. They need a show that will make them popular and well known, fast

A BL series these days is the fastest track to achieve that for young male actors, however the downside of this is usually that the actors don't want to do BL or be associated with it long term, so the show barely scrapes by being a BL at all, just toes the line, as it were, which is what has happened here. Another example of this was Star Struck (except that show was not well written at all). I could be wrong, but when I see a good production like this with 'BL' slapped on it when there is basically no BL in it at all, there is no other explanation I can think of. The people behind it are just trying to jump on the fast track BL band wagon. Which, blah.

Even so, as a standalone show it was entertaining and I am glad to have discovered Kobayashi as an actor, it's the first time I've found a Japanese actor likable, talented and attractive since Kenichi Matsuyama so many years ago. I will move on from this very quickly though. It failed to leave a lasting impression. They had one shot in the final ep to have an emotional impact on the BL viewers in ep 12, but even the hug after the confession didn't land well at all.

If they make a sequel they might redeem the first season. Here's hoping.

8/10

one of the best for me!

story

i think these types of stories aren’t for everyone, and that explains why I see some people find it quite boring. it was extremely light tho, and it can be seen that there is no major plot, just character driven.

the first few eps might've been confusing, but im glad i kept going on and watched it, because if i stopped watching it, i could've missed out on this great drama. its probably because of the enormous cast they had to introduce to the audience.

i loved the story though! i liked seeing their friendship blossom throughout the years, and watching this series made me wish to have a friendship like theirs.

the relationships in this drama were also so good please. i enjoyed seeing jeongwon and gyeoul the most, and that scene in the last ep got me so shocked! i didnt expect them to get together, the most i expected was at least a friendship between the two! im so grateful for that and I CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM IN THE NEXT SEASON. also, im an iksong shipper, and i’d like to see songhwas response to ikjuns confession in the next season. the scene when she took care of uju when he was sick was so heartwarming and i also want to see more of that!! i also like the other ships, but these two were the ones that made me super happy haha.

im also glad that it had 12 eps only for the first season. i’d probably be alright if this show had ten seasons, i just love it too much tbh. but i think the 12 eps made the story have the right pacing, nothing or things were barely too slow nor too fast.

ahh also, i like how this show is pretty relateable even though its a medical drama. whenever i watch medical dramas im always confused because of the terms happening hehe. it made me appreciate the medical field even more though. it showed the reality faced by the doctors. i know this show isn’t super medically accurate, but from what i heard it was quite accurate anyway. i’ve always wanted to become a neurosurgeon like chae songhwa as well though!

one of my favorite parts of this drama is also the band!! it’s so cool to see their band playing, and when i found out that the actors actually learned the instruments for this, i was even more impressed. i truly love mido and falasol, and want to hear more from them. i guess it held a closer place in my heart since i, myself play the piano and guitar. im not that good tho, but i was inspired to play them even more because of this!

generally, the story was so heartwarming, and comforting. it really holds a close place in my heart.

actors

okay so before this drama, i only knew jo jungseok honestly. but now that i’ve watched this, im a fan of a loot of the cast, even those supporting roles like shin hyunbeen etc. they all did so well, and props to them for that. im so grateful for this drama making me know them, thank you to the amazing people who casted them as well.

im impressed with their determination as well. as far as i know from their behind the scenes videos + band practice videos, i really saw how much they worked hard for it. whenever they record, they really take their time and make sure everything sounded great. the fact that they learned the instruments for the drama was also so cool! its pretty hard to learn instruments that quick and i remember mido’s bass teacher saying she learned it so fast that he was impressed. also for the rest, because it must be so tiring to practice that much! also props to mido singing off key when she’s actually so good at singing haha

they all surely gave justice to the characters they portrayed in the drama. their chemistry on screen and off screen is also so amazing! ive been watching all of the videos in the “채널 십오야” or na pd’s youtube channel, and im loving every single episode. its like a connection of the drama, but we also see how close the actors are nowadays!! its so nice to see them being all close :)

music
the osts of this drama were all equally goood!! i don’t have a favorite, since it’s so hard to choose because like i said they’re all good hahaha. i have their music on play most of the time, they’re part of my favorite songs! also, its so cool how some of their osts are sung by the actors who are in the show, its really so amazing!

rewatch value
i’ve watched some scenes again and again, but i can’t get tired of them. im attached to this show. im definitely going to rewatch this one day soon, and also another time before they release the second season!! im so desperate for the second season already, please come soon!! even if that comes im gonna rewatch the two seasons together hihi

but like i said, this show might not be for everyone!! but it was for me :)

True Beauty sticks to a tried and true formula that works

This drama doesn't try to do anything new, and I enjoyed it for that. I thought it was well written for the most part, except the last few episodes seemed unnecessary plot-wise, but I enjoyed the ending. A few topics were addressed around social media and bullying, and it was nice to see.

The acting is top-notch, in my opinion. Each character was relatable in their own way and really brought something interesting to the story. I rarely enjoy all of the side plots that occur; however, in this drama, I really enjoyed every plot-line explored.
I also liked each of the male romance options and would have been happy to see the main character end up with either of them. The story is well written, with each character's back-story well thought-out.

I had quite a few laughs watching this drama and enjoyed it for what it is. Overall, this drama doesn't take itself too seriously or try to reinvent the wheel but does what it sets out to do exceptionally well.

Not that great, but not bad either

I started watching Season 1 in April 2021. After finishing all 8 episodes of Season 1, I immediately turned on to Season 2.

Season 2 brings us to see how some of our characters have matured, particularly Jojo and Hye-Yeong who eventually became a couple. However, Sun-oh still remained the immature, demanding and possessive guy (although, yes, I could understand his frustrations throughout these years, not knowing why Jojo suddenly broke up with him with no strong reason). We even get to see Gok-Du who has matured enough, even when facing Gulmi.

It was also interesting to see changes in how each of them viewed love. Sun-Oh seemed to really take Love alarm seriously in Season 1 (which explains why he wanted to know so much about Jojo's love for him), but in Season 2 he insisted that Jojo was in love with him just by looking at her (this was never said in nice, romantic way. Sun-oh still had those temper tantrums and showing how possessive and self-centered he was). On the other hand, Jojo and Hye-Yeong who didn't care much about the application, were now so much into it in Season 2.

The ending on season 2 was more bearable and realistic to me compared to other Korean dramas. There was no fairy-tale happy ending showing wedding of our protagonists.

I liked the soundtrack songs in this drama (most of them were in English). I'd like to google and listen to them again.

One hell of a ride!

Kinnporsche is one of the best series I've had the pleasure to watch.

No, it's not perfect, the plot has few little holes/stuff that left me dissatisfied, but overall this is a product of quality that any BL fan should try to watch at least once in their lifetime.
What can you expect from KP though?
First of all, a pretty damn nice and capable cast. All the actors involved in this project did an amazing job in portraying their assigned characters, delivering funny/dramatic/cheesy/whatever scene with ease.
KP, in fact, it's not about mafia and the dark side of it, it's mostly a love story. It has very serious elements, but also lighthearted and steamy episodes. It's a mix of everything and that can be seen as a plus or a minus.
Two main couples have a proper storyline (and I admit, a third one has a weak development/plot in my opinion - but I won't spoil who I am talking about) and topics such as consent, abuse and trusting others are very well played.

Unfortunately, if there's something that sometimes KP doesn't excel at is displaying human reactions. While 3/4 of the series is okay, near the end the characters started to react and do stuff just because it was needed for the story to progress. But I repeat, this is not a common problem throughout episodes, so it's not that irritating (or, at least, it wasn't enough for me to drive me crazy and drop the rating).

To summarize, you should definitely watch KP if you're looking for a high budget thai BL with interesting couples, nice action scenes, a sprinkle of violence and steamy scenes. If you're looking for a dark thriller/realistic and raw portrayal of mafia, then forget it.

Ps. Also, if you're italian (like me), pls be prepared for broken italian with a very heavy foreign accent. I appreciated them trying tho XD

Pps. Tankhun deserves to be mentioned because this character is A+ and the reason why I gave the rating a +0.5 in my final score. God, I'd love to be his bff. We all need a dramatic Tankhun in our lives!

Wishing for a season 2!

This drama is very sweet! I love how the actors portray their characters and I am in love with the actors.
Somehow, the story has its own cliche'd moments, however I wouldn't say that it was over the top. This drama is very light, and there's not much conflict going on, except internally, meaning, its only within the leading actors.
I was surprised in the beginning since the development was a little early, but I don't hate it since it makes sense as the drama progresses.
For me, the ending wasn't that much satisfying but it still resolves the whole story. Each character of the story have their own story and I like that they showed bits of them.
I think Intense Love would be a good recommendation for starters in Cdrama!

Watch if you are Zheng Ye Cheng Fan

Very standard cliche story line with annoying FL character portrayed by the actress Yuan Bing Yan whom I can't understand why she gets so many roles. I pretty much dropped all the drama she's been in. Even wth Zheng Ye Cheng is in it, it was hard to watch the interaction.

ML - ZYC though not an amazing actor (still very good), always stands out in costume dramas for his fight scenes. You can't fake all the years of training especially when there's a solo scene.

Main reasons to suffer through the cliches:
-ZYC - fight scenes
-Mask dude's fight scenes
-Cute supporting characters (Maid to FL and the little soldier next to her all the time)
-The little pig -- yes EVEN The little pig is a better watch than the ML/FL cringe interactions

I really REALLY hope ZYC can get an epic script one day that's on the same level as:
Joy of Life, Ashes of Love, Bloody Romance, Love like Galaxy etc ...

An unrequited love

Kenneth (Andrei Desales), is trapped in a "friends with benefits" relationship with his friend Rayu (Jude Maquiling), in which he gives everything and gets nothing in return.
But chaos emerges after an unintentional mistake, and Kenneth must face the consequences of loving a boy who doesn't love him: like Icarus, Kenneth will have to pay the consequences of flying near the sun.
Directed by Angel Aguihap, the short film 'Icarus', produced by The Hillside Echo, is a bittersweet story of two college students involved in a one-sided homosexual relationship in which one gives everything, but the other is unable to return more than affection. superficial.
Premiered at the 10th FCU Duag Student Film Festival, the film, with an LGBT+ theme, won several awards, including Best Director, for Angel Aguihap; Best Set Design, for Nick Andrei Desales, who in turn won the award for Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor for Jude Maquiling, Best Photography and Best Poster for Joshua Solis.
This is a great short film because it has an excellent script and wonderful direction.
The film will make us reflect on the many dangers of sex without "conditions", especially in a long-term situation like that of the two protagonists. Within the framework of their unconventional relationship, Kenneth has developed feelings for Rayu, but it will not be reciprocated. Rayu has built a wall around himself that Kenneth will never be able to tear down.
With admirable performances, I was particularly impressed by the performance of the actor who plays the role of Kenneth. Her bitter crying, her pleading, her little hiccups of pain as she tried to express her feelings and emotions to Rayu, watching his tears flow freely, are heart-warming images. The viewer will feel compelled to hug him to provide comfort and protection.
It strikes me that the Bisaya language, also known as Cebuano, was used in this Filipino film, since in general I have enjoyed the use of Tagalog.

Actors r always picked to play right part. Great group of cast. However a person having the ability to see that made me anxious as well as frustrating. Only because you dont desire to see someone loose their life. Every scene or shall i say death its a new sceneror (ms)  It's slow passed easy to watch. If your used to fast paced dramas this isn't for you. Why 500 characters is ridiculous. People should be allowed to either give a short or lengthy review. Its frustrating when there's know indication that you've succeeded in doing so.

I liked it but...

This was one of my first K/Cdramas that I watched. I was getting tired of my Hallmark shows and fed up with Hollywood not getting any quality romances out. Most everything that looked or sounded good (here in the US) was rated R and I am not one for those shows. So I decided give the K/Cdramas a try. This and “Someone Like You” were my first shows and I liked the stories. So for this show...

I have watched this three times now. Twice before the second one came out and then again when the second one was out for a while.

I liked this show but I felt that some of the actors acting fell short. Their acting was not fluid. It was almost like watching robots at times. But that being said, I still watched it three times!

The storyline was good up to a certain point and then it went wack! I kept expecting them to have a happy ending but then the main actress gets kidnapped and that got drug out for a few episodes and then the the main lead is in a coma for an episode or two. And THEN she gets kidnapped AGAIN! Really??? It was just to much. I wish a lot of that was taken out and ended it when he woke up.

Other than that... would I rewatch? Yes, just because I kind of like most of the story and it was one of my first dramas.

Painful to watch as a k-celeb fan

Doona gives you a glimpse of the harsh realities that idols and celebrities face as a consequence of fame.
It was really painful, can't help but imagine the idols I've been following in order to keep me happy, are merely treated as pawns and products by their agencies. That in the process, they lose themselves and just tolerate this treatment just to keep them afloat.

The series was sad, real, and somber, but it also plants a seed of hope that everything will be alright as long as you chase happiness.

The relationships depicted were 10/10. Their dialogues, for being so raw and uncurared, 100/10. Chemistry? 1000/10!!!
What a great comeback for both Yang Se Jong and Suzy in the small screen. OST and scoring was also very good. Cinematography and production design was also.veryyy good.

Overall, what a great binge-worthy series. Finished all the 9episodes in one day.

P.S. I thank Suzy for accepting this project. It was a bit hard for a SayA to watch her seemingly reenacting what MissA's relationship was like behind the scenes.
