Wonderful drama

She has low ratings, but I want to see what happens next in this drama !!

It's criminal how the producers of this drama butchered a delightful romantic comedy

I started reading ongoing English translations of the novel on which this drama is based on before the broadcast and was equally waiting for it to be broadcast, especially when I found out that Shane Xiao, whom I enjoyed watching in the Little Nonya will be the FL. But onto episode 4, I am banging my head on the wall - even a scriptwriter with mediocre talent could do a better job - he or she only need to lift the dialogue and plot from the book to write an engaging script. All the elements are there from Chapter 1 when we met the stingy Long Yue who does not like to loose money. Miffed when he was tricked by our blind FL, Ju Mu Er into building awnings over his shops to provide shelter from sun and rain for her flower seller friend, he started on a childish campaign to seek revenge. Follow the story when his harmless pranks (stealing her cane and scaring her in the woods) turned into unwilling attraction, from compassion when she was nearly killed when she walked into a midst of a murder to admiration. Book was written mainly from the point of his inner thoughts, and you can tell from their interactions, he was slowly and reluctantly falling in love so much so his initial rejection of her marriage proposal quickly turned into agreement when he realized that if she marry someone else, he can no longer bicker with her. Some of the scenes in the book are killer romantic, for instance when she was unconsciously moving her fingers over his hand while talking about teaching qin, he spread his hands to increase the surface area for her to touch and how quick he was to explain his presence in the brothel when she remarked she could tell which brothel he was in earlier from the scent of the ladies that lingered on his body. And the comedy....Ju Mu Er's father was so comically dense when Long Yue came to visit her, only to find FL's ex fiancée just left with gifts that demonstrated that he and Ju Mu Er were old friends and soulmate. Not only was he frustrated that FL was sleeping when he arrived, his future FIL was going on and on about the relationship of these two couples oblivious to the winking of Long Yue's bodyguard to stop, even remarking that the latter needs to see an eye specialist as he seems to have a tick in his eyes. Kudos to the translator for translating this scene from chinese to english so vividly I laughed out loud when I read that part.
But I digress. Back to the show which for some inexplicable reasons, the producer threw away all the delightful elements of the book to introduce a new character, Ju Mu Er's teacher and reduced the sexual tension between the couple to childish bickering . The intelligent Ju Mu Er who need to rely on her sense of touch and smell to compensate for her lack of sight became this wu xia maiden who fell again and again for ML's so obvious tricks. Chemistry between the OTP played by Shane Xiao and Xing Zhao Lin is almost non existent, the makeup garish transforming the delicate Shane Xiao into an over painted shrew and the lighting just flooding the whole set with bright light and colors. I can't bear to watch this drama - its too painful and have gone back to patiently waiting for the translated chapters to be slooowly uploaded.

There is no need to watch this drama full. I watched few waiting for something happen like atleast some one fart and we can laugh. Its like funeral house out there in that restaurent. wholly molly. someone saying some people like slow drama. All i have to say for that if anyone like slow drama their brain so slow they probably like to smell their own fart. How can anyone watch this kinda drama. How anyone waste their money in making this drama. Some humans are weird. Some find happiness in misery and sadness. Silence is death. If you can't even scream shout what is this drama about?. -1/10.

Boring

Base on video. Female lead entered to video game and had a task to complete but all the time she narrated the story , actual dialogues were very less which made the drama unrealistic and eventually felt like bored and unbearable .
So after watching three episodes I had decided to drop the drama

Yawn....

Honestly at first it started out alright, it wasn’t perfect but it was watchable...throughout the 3 episodes...It’s basically about a girl whos basically wack and goes into a rich school after she saves a bullied guy from killing himself off a school roof. She then meets the “drop dead gorgeous” bad guys who are known as “F4” in the school and they are pretty much petty arseholes for bullying students who are lesser than them. I mean doesn’t that really put you off??? Like how can the female lead get involved with a bloke who just is a utter bullocks as well as a bully man?!?! Yeah honestly, I don’t know either and that’s regardless if it’s fiction lol..

I don’t know if this aged well, full of stupid cliches, overhyped or just the fact I was a dummy for watching this in the first place but it just didn’t click with me man. It was just so boring and just an utter disappointment cause it is popular. I’m afraid the “Boys Over Flowers” fan club will have to leave me out on this one x)

For ppl who love gossip girl and riverdale probably not bad

I didn't get super far into it before I dropped this. (I am very picky tho, and drop a lot of things quickly, so take that as you will.)

Here are some of my observations along the way.

Pro:
- I really liked Moon Gayoung and Joy in this.
- I liked how much of a b*tch Suji was, but not only in a bad way. She stood up for her friends and for classmates. There was an altruism to he bitchiness. I liked it.
- I love the source material. I'm a big fan of Dangerous Liasons (the book) and I'm always happy to see new adaptations of it.

Con:
- After the fifth rich kid main character had a fight with their parents I thought it really was a bit much. Not a single one of them has a decent parent? Come on... Also, the reasons for which Suji hates her mother are unclear to me (maybe they're gonna be explained later on, but since for the others reasons were given immediately, I wasn't betting on it.)
- What happened between Suji and the art teacher was not quite clear to me. I seemed like he reciprocated her feelings (yikes) but then was found out and fired? That's how that scene read to me. But in that case I don't understand why Suji held a grudge against him for four years to the point where she wanted to humiliate him at the graduation ceremony...
- Taehee's fight with her mother was unrealistic to me. She seemed like a nice girl, so for her to confront her mother and kick her out of her life when she was clearly trying to make amends because her mother didn't much call when Taehee and her dad lived in Europe? It just felt psychologically unrealistic to me since Taehee wasn't otherwise shown as confrontational and also, that's just not how most children behave towards distant (but obviously well-meaning) parents. It felt like drama for the sake of drama.
- The mother who's a model seemed to have extremely low self-esteem for what she is. She looked really good, I didn't have a problem believing she was actually a model bc of that but instead to me the problem was her body language. She was slouching all the time, she cried in public, she was a doormat when others talked down to her. I just felt a supermodel (who's prob been in the industry for over 20 years at that point) would know better. But instead she was standing in front of a 20 year old, twiddling her thumbs, looking down at her own feet, slouching, while whining to him how her daughter doesn't love her. Just very weird acting choice. Or maybe directorial vision? I don't know.
- Speaking of the model mama: All the age gap relationships (and non-relationships) made me a little uncomfy. Especially since so far into the story nobody even acknowledged that they're weird.

Neutral:
- It felt kinda steamy for a kdrama, which in turn made it feel kinda like an american show like gossip girl or riverdale (hence the comparison in the title). I don't think this is neither good nor bad so I gave it it's own category :)

Overall I did enjoy this show, but the drama felt too unrealistic and forced for me to continue. Would love to see Suji take revenge on even more people tho, so who knows, I might actually pick it up again at some point.

And that's my two cents!

Office romance is what I like

So l am a person who likes romantic comedy and I always found something that includes it. And to be honest I saw reels of this drama on Instagram, where she is crying and all and it was a sad video so I just skip it and thought I won't watch it but after few days when I watched the trailer, I thought let's just give it a try and watch the first episode so I can see what's happening with it. I know the actress from melting me softly but I haven't seen any of the male lead drama so, I don't know about him much but I know that the female lead was very good and acting.
overall it's a good drama like it has something in funny and romantic too in a little amount. But its a melodramatic drama so I can understand. This where the girl is fighting with her on emotions to get through. And the male lead comfort her.

I actually like the concept and the male lead is good too, his character really match with him.

There isn't any many music in the background, so I don't know about that.
But like it even though it's not Rom-Com.

Hiya?

Poised to be one of the greatest BLs of all time! Why? Keep reading.

No scene in Oh, Mando! episode one is boring or unnecessary. The entire first episode was entertaining and well-paced with every scene establishing the characters while moving the narrative forward! Some of the best supporting characters are Vince (one of Armando's two best friends) and the teachers (one in the dorm and one who is the leader of the drama club): spicy, sassy, funny, and confident! This is great because some teachers that I've seen in both Pinoy and Thai BL have been abysmal.

Oh, Mando! is funny, yet touching with real depth in the storytelling and powerful visual symbolism; one example would be the scenes when Mando is wearing a facial mask.

I LOVE the fact that we know Mando's feelings from the very first episode and that it seems that his feelings are requited, so no waiting over weeks for the main protagonists to finally get around to the ridiculous, yet common, "What is this feeling? Why is my heart beating so fast?" scene.

But, it is just as clear that there will be several believable and understandable (as opposed to melodramatic, artificial and unnecessary) obstacles they will have to overcome before they can find their way to each other. The fun will be in watching HOW they accomplish that.

I have watched SCENES and partial episodes from BLs several times, but to watch ENTIRE episodes from start to finish? Nope, not really.

Until Oh, Mando, that is. That is because EVERY scene is worth watching. There are no long, drawn out scenes to get through while you wait for the couple to realize their feelings for each other and then FINALLY get together. Yet, the story doesn't move too fast and the predicaments they face are real. There is credible tension and anticipation with a huge dose of humour! Honestly, some of those scenes made me laugh out loud! I don't think I will hear the word 'fishball' again without chuckling. (I don't speak Tagalog, but honestly, I keep hearing Kokoy de Santos saying "...fishball ko" in my head, and I just start laughing.)

The only criticism I have about this hopefully soon-to-be historic BL is the production company's decision to only make it available on iWantTFC. I think this could be one of the most popular BLs of all time if they used a platform like YouTube, or at the very least GagaOOLala, so that subscribers would have access to a lot more content for their money. Using these platforms (especially YouTube) would create more buzz on social media promoting the series, the director, and the actors far more widely, and can really act as a career boost and serious cost-free promotion for the drama, especially through reaction videos. I am hoping that they will change this in the near future so that Oh, Mando! can get the international fan support and recognition it truly deserves!

Looking forward with GREAT anticipation to episode 2!

Prediction and POSSIBLE SPOILER:

I noticed that Risha and Barry share the same surname: Cruz.
I know by watching the credits in lots of Pinoy BL's that 'Cruz' is a relatively common name, but I have to wonder if this means that they might be siblings or otherwise closely related (cousins?).

A Beautiful & Emotional Journey

What will you do if you are left stranded on a deserted island for 15 years?

tvN’s latest musical sojourn “Castaway Idol” attempts to answer this question in a lighthearted yet emotional manner. Starring Park Eun Bin, Kim Hyo Jin, Chae Jong Hyeop, Cha Hak Yeon, Kim Joo Heon in pivotal roles, the drama chronicles main lead Seo Mok Ha’s (Park Eun Bin) journey to normal life as she returns to the mainland, after being stranded on a deserted island for 15 years. The precociousness of the storyline, coupled with some excellent performances from the leading cast, lends a beautiful vibe to this somber melodrama. I have been religiously following the social media updates by tvN since the drama was announced. The initial posters and the trailers created enough buzz to keep this ship floating. The first two episodes are high on emotions, as we are introduced to the two main characters in this drama- Seo Mok Ha & her classmate, Jung Ki Ho. Now, you won’t find any information about Ki Ho, simply because the character’s current whereabouts are still under wraps. The drama heavily leans on the emotional trauma faced by these two characters as they fight for survival. Now, let’s get to know more about them before we dive headfirst into the storyline!

Maybe chill on the exaggerations

I'd just have to drop the drama or save it for when I have nothing else to watch. I do love Ji Chang-wook and while Kim Yoo-jung might not be one of my favorite actresses, I think she's good. All in all, it's a nice cast.

I don't find the comedy funny though, several scenes I watched were so exaggerated, I couldn't really get past that. I think those work only in the webtoon and shouldn't have ended up in the drama.

Of course, I have absolutely nothing against the age difference, there just wasn't enough to draw me in from the first episode and from the plot line, it doesn't look like there's much story to tell.

I will not rate the drama till I start watching and this review is subject to change.

A Crime Thriller with a Edge!!

This show was totally not on my radar and I’m still awestruck by the intricacies in this crime thriller!

Adapted from the novel “Snow White Must Die” by Nele Neuhaus, the show has an ensemble casting which includes Byun Yo Han, Go Jun, Go Bo Gyeol, Kim Bo Ra in lead roles. The opening credits of the first episode might seem slightly confusing but as the plot moves on, we are treated to a cryptic murder mystery that has been stretched over a decade, with the characters seemingly trying their level best to unravel the secrets surrounding the dual murder. The pilot episodes are quite cautious in introducing the characters partially; we still don’t have much information about the victims or their circumstances while the real murderer might still be on the loose. The show portrays the main lead, Go Jeong U as someone who was stuck by circumstantial evidence, he doesn’t remember anything about the murders that he supposedly committed; as he was drunk and the psychiatrists tagged his scenario as a “Blackout” (which conveniently worked out for the policemen because they could close the case, even though the corpses were never recovered). Let’s dig deeper and learn more about the characters!

Lots of things go the wrong way, esp. those about medical details.

I'm not quite sure how to start with this, but I need to rant it out at least a bit. Most parts in this series seem to be touched by the wrong hands.

Let's not talk about the medical details which are the main and biggest problem here anymore, but the main character like Linlada. It's so annoying to watch this character. She looks pretentious both because of her kind-of-WOKE's selfish attitude and her acting skills.

What is WOKE kind of selfish attitude here, let me clarify a bit - she acts like she's a good person/philanthropist/good Samaritan in spite of being actually opposite to being helpful at all. For example, she's very slow in examining the patients - too slow with unneccesary examining procedure such as checking the eyes of the patient who comes in with the symptom of coughing.... You get how irrelevant this is? And you get my meaning when I mentioned that let's not talk about medical details anymore? There're too many profession-related mistakes to the point that let's not talk about it because wherever you touch it, it's all wrong. So, let's go back to examining too slow - after she finishes her shift and meets her friend who finishes his work before her at the break room, she initiates to reprimand that friend that he examines too fast it can't be thorough which can be disadvantageous to the patients...... Hellow? It's you, Linlada, who is the problem, not your friend.

If you watch this series for an episode, I think you can get what kind of self-centered viewpoint I say that Linlada has. And if you watch it for an episode, I think you can also get how annoyingly pretentious kind of WOKE attitude I say Linlada has. And the actress's acting skills don't help the character at all. Her acting makes Linlada look like a jealous loser, not a FL. Due to her annoying character design, I wasn't sure she was really a FL until I come here and see she pops up on the 1st order on the cast list.

By the way, not only this actress who is amateur. I actually disatisfy with the acting skills of all main characters except one who is acceptable (Best). Just that Lindala's the 1st in the order so I talk about her first and foremost, and then I don't think I would talk about other aspects/actors/actresses anymore. After ranting out a bit, I feel that talking about this is also a time waster. Let's sum up that it's another Thai drama that disappoints me.

AS OF NOW

So far i love how the story has been plotted......the cast shows a great impact to the characters....their acting from the dialogue, expression and the charm tends to make you feel like you are actually watching the scene on set....i love to see more exciting events or plots coming in to this drama...as of now i am really wondering why did Shin Woo-yeo (Jang Ki-yong) still holding Lee Dam (Hyeri) that he already knows how to take the fox marble from Lee Dam's possession...Does it because he's hoping that Lee Dam is the key to make his wish of becoming a human come true? Or does he already falling from her? That is what we need to find out... so if you havent given this drama a time to watch, i greatly recommend it..i promise this is worth watching???

I love to see how this drama would end but i wish this drama would last a pretty long time that i am expecting more episode and season
